To host an All the Mods 11 (ATM11) server, download the server archive that matches the client release, run it with the Java version required by that Minecraft version, allocate enough memory without exhausting the host machine, and test local or remote access before inviting players. At the time of writing, the CurseForge project lists ATM11 as a NeoForge pack for Minecraft 26.1.x; its main file is All the Mods 11-0.11.1-beta.zip for Minecraft 26.1.2, with a matching ServerFiles-0.11.1-beta.zip. The project describes this build as a “Super early alpha for 26.1.2,” so check the listing again immediately before downloading.

What you need to know about ATM11 right now
ATM11 is not a normal vanilla server jar. It is a large NeoForge modpack, so the server, every client, the Minecraft version, the NeoForge loader and the pack files must agree. A client that launches a different ATM11 release can fail to connect, report missing mods or create confusing registry errors.

At the research date, it identified ATM11 as a NeoForge modpack for the Minecraft 26.1.x line and listed All the Mods 11-0.11.1-beta.zip as the main file for 26.1.2. The corresponding server download was ServerFiles-0.11.1-beta.zip. The listing also described the pack as a very early alpha, which means filenames, dependencies and installation behavior may change quickly. Record the exact release, Minecraft version and NeoForge version you install; do not rely on a generic “latest” label when troubleshooting.
The project page showed 1,093,948 downloads in 2026. That is a changing page counter, not a capacity guarantee or a server-performance benchmark. No source checked publishes an ATM11-specific maximum player count, tick-rate test or universal hardware recommendation beyond the general All The Mods memory guidance below.

Decide where the server will run
You have two practical choices: run the server on a computer you control, or rent a managed game-server instance. Neither option makes version matching optional.

Local hosting is usually the better fit when one person can leave a capable computer running and is comfortable maintaining it. Managed hosting is convenient when the group needs a persistent endpoint and nobody wants to maintain the operating system, network or power supply. In either case, keep a copy of the server files and world that you can restore independently of the host.

Plan the machine before installing
System memory
All The Mods guidance says a PC should have at least 16 GB of system RAM for the best playable experience. It also says most packs need 8–12 GB allocated to the game or server and warns against assigning every available gigabyte. Those figures describe general pack guidance, not a published ATM11 benchmark.
If the same computer will host the server and run your client, the operating system and client need memory at the same time. A machine with 16 GB total therefore has little spare capacity after an 8–12 GB server allocation. Close unnecessary applications, watch for swapping and consider a separate host if exploration or automation causes memory pressure. More players, simultaneous chunk generation and large automated systems can require more headroom; no fixed ATM11 player limit is established by the available sources.
CPU, storage and connection
Use a machine with a modern, sustained CPU rather than judging it only by the number of cores. Modded servers perform important work on a limited number of active threads, especially while generating new terrain. Use fast local storage with free space for the world, logs, backups and a second copy during updates. A stable wired connection is preferable for a home host. Your upload capacity, latency and router policy affect remote players even when the server itself has enough CPU and RAM.
Java and operating-system access
The official server guide does not prescribe one Java number for every ATM11 release. It says the Java version must match the pack’s Minecraft version. Check the selected ATM11 release and install the required Java accordingly. If several Java installations are present, java -version may report a different one from the version you intended. Remove unused installations, point the start script to an explicit Java executable, or configure your platform’s Java alternative so the server uses the intended runtime.

Install an ATM11 server locally
Use a dedicated directory rather than extracting the pack into Downloads or into a directory used by another Minecraft server. The following sequence follows the official All The Mods server guidance.
1. Select one exact release
- Open the ATM11 project on CurseForge.
- Record the Minecraft version, NeoForge version, pack filename and publication or release label.
- Have every player select that same ATM11 release in their launcher. Do not let one player use a newer client merely because it appears as the launcher’s default.
For the release identified at the research date, that means Minecraft 26.1.2, the listed NeoForge build and the 0.11.1-beta server archive. Treat those values as time-specific: recheck CurseForge if you are installing later.
2. Download the matching server files
- Open the selected file entry on CurseForge.
- Open Additional Files.
- Download the Server Files archive that matches the same release, such as
ServerFiles-0.11.1-beta.zipfor the release above. - Create a new directory dedicated to this server and extract the archive there.
Do not substitute the client modpack zip for the server archive. The server package contains the scripts and server-side layout expected by the pack.
3. Verify Java before the first launch
Open a terminal or command prompt in the server directory and run:
java -versionCompare the result with the Java requirement for the Minecraft version used by your selected ATM11 release. If the result is wrong, correct the system default or edit the startup script to call the full path to the intended Java executable. Do this before diagnosing mod errors; a server started with an incompatible runtime can fail before NeoForge loads.
4. Start once and let file generation finish
On Windows, run startserver.bat. On Linux, grant the script execute permission and run ./startserver.sh:

chmod +x startserver.sh
./startserver.shThe first run creates the EULA file, configuration directories and other generated data. Keep the console open and allow the process to finish. Do not repeatedly interrupt it because the window appears idle while files are being created.
5. Accept the EULA
- Stop the process if it has exited after generating files.
- Open
eula.txtin the server directory. - Change
eula=falsetoeula=trueand save the file. - Run the same startup script again.
If the EULA remains false, the server will stop instead of loading the world.
6. Set memory and basic configuration
When the extracted pack includes usr_jvm_args.txt, adjust the -Xms startup heap and -Xmx maximum heap there. Keep the allocation within the machine’s practical headroom: the general guidance is 8–12 GB for many packs, not “all available RAM.” Leave room for the operating system, the Minecraft client and other services.
Edit server.properties and pack configuration files only when you understand the setting and have a backup. The official guide specifically warns that changing server-ip is usually unnecessary and can prevent the server from starting. Leave it blank unless you have a clear, tested reason to bind the server to a particular local interface.
7. Confirm a successful load
Wait for the console to report that the dedicated server has loaded before connecting. Stop and correct any Java, file or mod error shown in the console rather than repeatedly restarting the same failed configuration. Keep the console or log available; its first error is generally more useful than later cascading messages.
Connect yourself and invite remote players
Test from the host machine
First connect from the computer running the server by using that machine’s local address as presented by your launcher or operating system. This test separates a server or modpack problem from a router problem. If the local connection fails, check the console, Java version, selected client release and generated configuration before changing network settings.

Test from another device on the same network
Use the host computer’s reachable local address from a second machine. Make sure the operating-system firewall permits the Java server process or the required Minecraft traffic on the relevant network profile. A local-network test confirms that the service is listening beyond the host itself, but it does not prove that an internet connection will work.
Provide internet access carefully
Remote access depends on your router, firewall, internet service and network design. The official ATM guide does not prescribe one universal port-forwarding recipe, so use the instructions for your router and expose only the Minecraft service you actually need. Keep the server software and operating system updated, restrict administrative access, and avoid publishing unrelated services. If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT or blocks inbound connections, a conventional home forward may not work; a managed host or another approved network solution may be necessary.
Give friends the reachable IP address or hostname only after local and same-network tests succeed. Each player still needs the identical ATM11 release, Minecraft version and NeoForge build.

A managed provider may list a one-click ATM11 installer. Because ATM11 is an early alpha and its files can change, a template may not exist for the release you selected. Treat a one-click label as a convenience, not proof that the template matches your client.

When one-click installation is available
- Choose the exact ATM11 release in the provider panel, not merely an “ATM11” entry without a version.
- Confirm the panel’s Minecraft, NeoForge and Java values.
- After creation, compare the installed server files with the matching CurseForge Server Files archive.
- Start the instance, read the console for a successful load and connect with a client on the same release.
When you must install manually
The official guide says to create a compatible NeoForge server and upload the extracted Server Files through FTP, SFTP or the host’s file manager. Ask support or consult the panel documentation for the exact NeoForge installation method, then upload the server archive’s contents into the instance directory. Do not upload a client-only profile in place of the server files.
Questions to answer before paying
- Does the provider support the exact ATM11 release, Minecraft version and NeoForge build you intend to run?
- Can you set the required Java runtime or does the panel lock it to an incompatible version?
- Can you edit
usr_jvm_args.txt,server.propertiesand pack configuration files? - Is full FTP, SFTP or file-manager access available for manual updates?
- Are automated backups included, and can you download a complete world backup?
- What CPU, memory, storage and player-slot limits apply to the selected plan?
- Can you stop the service and preserve files while testing a new pack release?
Do not assume that a provider’s general modded-Minecraft support includes this early ATM11 build. Obtain confirmation for the specific release and keep your own downloadable backup.
Update ATM11 without losing the world
Modpack updates can change registries, configuration defaults and world behavior. Plan an update as a reversible operation.
- Announce downtime and stop the server cleanly.
- Copy the entire server directory, or at minimum make a verified backup of the world and all intentional configuration. Store the backup somewhere separate from the live machine.
- Download the new matching Server Files archive from the selected CurseForge release.
- Install into a new directory when possible. This makes rollback simpler than overwriting the only working copy.
- Move or replace pack-managed folders such as
mods,config,defaultconfigsandkubejsas appropriate for that release. - Preserve
world,server.properties,eula.txt, JourneyMap data when present and any intentional custom configuration. Review differences rather than blindly replacing customized files. - Apply the required Java and memory settings to the new directory.
- Start the new server and wait for a complete load. Keep the old copy untouched.
- Connect with one client on the new release, inspect important areas and verify key machines or automation.
- Keep the rollback copy until players have connected successfully and you are satisfied that the world behaves normally.
If the new server fails, stop it, save the error log, restore the previous directory and world backup, and investigate the first meaningful error before trying another migration.
Troubleshoot the failures you are most likely to see
The server exits immediately
- Run
java -versionand verify that the startup script is using the required Java installation. - Check that you launched
startserver.batorstartserver.shfrom the extracted server directory. - Read the first error in the console for a missing file, permission problem or incompatible loader.
- Confirm that
eula=trueis saved ineula.txt. - Undo an unnecessary
server-ipchange; the official guidance says that setting is normally left alone.
Players receive a mod or registry mismatch
Compare the client’s ATM11 file with the server’s recorded release, Minecraft version and NeoForge build. A “latest” client can be newer than the server, particularly while the pack is in early alpha. Have every player install the exact release selected for the server rather than mixing files from different versions.
The server starts but becomes unstable under load
Check available system memory, the -Xmx value and operating-system swapping. Do not simply assign all RAM to Java. Reduce simultaneous exploration and heavy automation while observing logs, then move the server to a machine with more practical headroom if the host is also running a client or other services. Since no ATM11-specific benchmark is published, treat observed performance as environment-dependent rather than as a guaranteed player limit.
Local connections work but friends cannot join
Recheck the host firewall, router policy, reachable address and whether your internet service allows inbound connections. Test from outside your home network rather than assuming that a successful local test proves internet reachability. If carrier-grade NAT or another provider restriction prevents inbound access, use a managed endpoint or an alternative network arrangement.
A managed panel cannot install the pack
Ask whether the panel supports the exact release and NeoForge build. If it does not offer a current template, use its documented manual NeoForge process and upload the extracted Server Files through FTP, SFTP or the file manager. If the host prevents the required Java version or file access, it is not a suitable host for that release.
Operational checklist for a reliable server
- Record the ATM11 release, Minecraft version, NeoForge version and server archive filename.
- Keep every player’s client on that same release.
- Use the Java version required by the selected Minecraft version and verify it with
java -version. - Allocate enough memory for the server while leaving room for the operating system and any client running on the host.
- Back up the world before every update and retain a rollback copy.
- Test the server locally before changing router settings.
- Expose only the necessary Minecraft service through the firewall and router.
- Read the console after every update and before inviting players.
- On managed hosting, confirm version support, Java control, file access, backups and downloadable worlds before purchase.
Bottom line
For a home server, the dependable path is: select one ATM11 release on CurseForge, download its matching Server Files archive, use the Java version required by its Minecraft version, start once, accept the EULA, set conservative memory values, and test connectivity in stages. Choose managed hosting when you need persistent availability or do not want to maintain networking and hardware, but verify support for the exact early-alpha release rather than trusting a generic modpack listing. Whichever model you choose, identical client files and a tested backup are more important than a one-click installer.
