Choose a pre-configured host, select Stone Technology Ultimate, allocate at least 6 GB of RAM, and wait for the first initialization. Self-hosting is possible when you want control over the machine and files: install the pack through the CurseForge client on the server computer, start it, and have every player install the same pack on their own computer.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
Stone Technology Ultimate is a Minecraft 1.18.2 modpack. Published memory guidance ranges from 4 GB to 7 GB or more, depending on whether the server is private, shared with friends, or public. Treat 6 GB as a practical starting point, then check the current pack listing before committing to a plan because the currently published pack release has not been verified here.

Stone Technology Ultimate is built for Minecraft 1.18.2. The game version is the first compatibility check: the server, the installed client pack, and every player’s launcher profile must target 1.18.2. Installing a similarly named pack for another Minecraft release can produce a different set of mods, a different world format, or a server that clients cannot join.
A listing description attributes roughly 230 mods to the pack, although that count is not firmly established. A pack of that size needs more memory and more patience during its first launch than an unmodified Minecraft server. Plan the machine and the host plan around the memory figures below rather than around vanilla Minecraft requirements.

Hardware and account checklist
- A computer or hosting account on which you can install and run the server.
- Enough allocated RAM for the pack. The published figures range from a 4 GB minimum to 7 GB or more for friends or public hosting.
- The CurseForge client on a self-host machine, and on every player’s computer.
- A Stone Technology Ultimate installation that matches Minecraft 1.18.2 on both server and clients.
- Several minutes available for the first server initialization after installation.
How much RAM should the server have?
No single number applies to every Stone Technology Ultimate server. Different published guides give different targets, and they describe different use cases. Use the following figures as planning guidance, not as a performance benchmark.
| Published figure | What it describes | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| 4 GB | Minecraft-hosting.pro lists 4 GB as a minimum; its guidance says public servers may need more. | Use only as a floor for a small, private test. It leaves less headroom for additional players or heavy world activity. |
| 4 or 6 GB | The CurseForge listing notes that 4/6 GB are needed. | Interpret this as a range tied to the pack listing, not a guarantee that either value suits every workload. |
| 6 GB | BisectHosting recommends 6 GB for this pack. | A sensible starting allocation for a small server when you want more room than the minimum. |
| 7 GB or more | StickyPiston suggests 7 GB or more for hosting with friends or for a public server. | Choose this range when several players, public access, or heavier activity are expected. |
For a first deployment, budget at least 6 GB unless you are deliberately testing with a very small private server. Increase the allocation when the server is intended for friends or public access, following the 7 GB-or-more guidance. More RAM does not repair an incorrect modpack, a mismatched Minecraft version, or a host that has not finished initializing; verify those conditions first when troubleshooting.

The pack’s current release and its exact present-day requirements should be checked on the live CurseForge listing before you purchase a long-term plan. The available guide material refers to pack version 1.5.1 and is roughly two years old, so it does not establish the current pack version on October 14, 2026.
Route 1: rent a pre-configured server
Renting is the lowest-effort route because the provider supplies the server environment and, in some cases, a one-click modpack installer. You still need to install the same pack on each player’s computer, but you avoid maintaining the operating system and server files yourself.

BisectHosting: select the pack during setup
- Open the provider’s Minecraft server selector during order or server creation.
- Choose Stone Technology Ultimate from the available modpack options.
- Allocate 6 GB of RAM, which is the provider’s stated recommendation for this pack.
- Complete the installation and wait for the control panel to report that the server is ready.
- Record the server address shown by the panel and give it to players after they have installed the matching pack.
The important part of this route is selecting the Ultimate pack, not merely a similarly named Stone Technology entry. Confirm that the installer identifies Minecraft 1.18.2 before proceeding.
ScalaCube: add the game server from the panel
- Sign in to the ScalaCube control panel.
- Open Game servers.
- Choose Add Game Server.
- Select Stone Technology Ultimate from the pack list.
- Finish creation, then wait for the panel to complete its installation before starting the server.
ScalaCube also has a Stone Technology page describing a different 1.16.5 pack with an 8 GB figure. That page is not a specification for Stone Technology Ultimate. Do not use its 8 GB number to size an Ultimate server.

- Create the Minecraft server and select Stone Technology Ultimate in the provider’s installer.
- Wait for the installation to finish; do not press start while files are still being copied.
- Click the start arrow in the control panel.
- Allow several minutes for the first initialization. A server can appear inactive while it is generating or preparing its initial files.
- When the panel shows that the process is running, copy the displayed address for your players.
Minecraft-hosting.pro lists 4 GB as a minimum and warns that public servers may need more. For a persistent community server, use a larger allocation than the minimum and watch how the server behaves as players join.
What renting does and does not cover
- Covered by the host: the underlying machine, panel, and (when offered) automated pack installation.
- Still your responsibility: choosing the correct pack, allocating enough RAM, waiting for initialization, managing access, and ensuring every player uses the same client pack.
- Trade-off: you get a faster launch and less system administration, but you have less control over the operating system and the host’s file layout.
Route 2: self-host on your own machine
Self-hosting gives you direct access to the server files and hardware. It is useful when you already have a machine available or need control that a managed panel does not provide. It also makes you responsible for installation, memory allocation, uptime, and recovery.

- SURVIVAL ADVENTURES — Face mysterious foes, travel across varied landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play solo or join friends in local split-screen and cross-platform play across console, mobile, and PC. Online multiplayer supports up to 8 players.
- COMMUNITY PLAY — Connect with players on community servers, or subscribe to Realms Plus (sold separately) to play with up to 10 friends on a private server.
Install the pack on the server computer
- Install the CurseForge client on the computer that will run the server.
- Use the client to install Stone Technology Ultimate, confirming that the profile is for Minecraft 1.18.2.
- Keep the installation in its own profile or directory so that it is not mixed with another modpack.
- Use the pack’s server start option supplied by the installation and allow the first launch to complete.
- Leave the machine running while the server initializes; the first start can take several minutes.
The available guidance does not establish a universal operating-system command or launch script, so use the server files and launcher workflow provided by the CurseForge installation rather than copying a command intended for another pack or Minecraft version.
Set a realistic memory allocation
The CurseForge listing’s 4/6 GB guidance and StickyPiston’s 7 GB-or-more recommendation point to the same practical rule: a tiny private test and a shared or public server are different workloads. Start at 6 GB when the machine has enough physical memory, and move toward 7 GB or more for a friends or public server. Do not allocate all of the computer’s RAM to Minecraft; the operating system and other services need room, too.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Give players the matching client pack
- Have every player install the CurseForge client.
- Have each player install Stone Technology Ultimate through that client.
- Tell players to use the same Minecraft 1.18.2 profile as the server.
- Only then give them the server address and ask them to connect.
A server-side installation is not enough. Players need the modpack on their own computers because the client must load the same mods and configuration to complete the connection.
Self-hosting trade-offs
| Decision area | Renting | Self-hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Initial setup | Usually faster; a panel can install the pack with a selector. | Slower; you install the client and pack on the server machine. |
| RAM cost | Included in the plan; 6 GB is a stated recommendation from one provider. | You supply the physical RAM and reserve it for the server without starving the operating system. |
| Control over files and mods | Depends on the provider’s panel and file access. | Direct access to the machine and installation. |
| Maintenance | The provider maintains the underlying service; you still manage pack and player compatibility. | You handle the host computer, the server process, updates, and recovery. |
| Best fit | Players who want the quickest path to a running server. | Players who already manage a suitable computer and need maximum control. |
First-start procedure and a pre-launch checklist
Whether you rent or self-host, treat the first launch as a staged setup rather than inviting everyone immediately.
- Confirm identity: the selected pack is Stone Technology Ultimate, not another Stone Technology pack.
- Confirm game version: the server profile and client profiles are Minecraft 1.18.2.
- Confirm memory: at least 6 GB is assigned for a normal small deployment; plan 7 GB or more for friends or public use.
- Start once: launch the server and wait several minutes for initialization to finish.
- Test with one player: connect from a client with the exact same pack installation.
- Expand gradually: add the rest of the players after the single-player connection succeeds.
This sequence separates installation problems from multiplayer-load problems. If one correctly installed client cannot connect, adding more memory or more players will not identify the underlying mismatch.

Moving an existing world to a hosted server
If you already have a Stone Technology Ultimate world, migration is optional. StickyPiston describes a drag-and-drop method in the World Manager of a Multicraft panel:
- Verify that the destination server is running the same Stone Technology Ultimate and Minecraft version as the world you are moving.
- Open the host’s World Manager.
- Use the panel’s upload or drag-and-drop control to add the world save.
- Select the uploaded world as the server’s active world according to the panel’s controls.
- Start the server and allow the first load to finish before players join.
This procedure applies to Multicraft-based hosts. Confirm that your provider actually uses Multicraft before relying on those labels or controls; another panel may require a different import workflow.
Common mistakes and how to recover
Using the wrong Stone Technology pack
The most consequential naming trap is confusing Ultimate with a 1.16.5 Stone Technology pack. A ScalaCube page for that other pack cites 8 GB, but that figure does not describe Stone Technology Ultimate. Return to the installer, select the entry that explicitly says Ultimate, and verify Minecraft 1.18.2 before reinstalling or changing RAM.
Clients and server use different versions
If players cannot join, compare the complete pack name and Minecraft version on the server and on every client. Reinstall the client profile through CurseForge when necessary instead of adding individual mods by hand. A manually altered profile can diverge from the server even when its name looks correct.
Starting before installation finishes
Managed panels may show a start control while background installation is still completing. Follow the Minecraft-hosting.pro workflow: wait until installation reports completion, then start, and allow several minutes for initialization. Stopping the process during that first preparation can leave an incomplete setup that must be reinstalled.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
Trying to optimize a working installation
The pack listing cautions that optimization mods named Rubidium and Suit can cause problems with this pack and advises against changing a working installation. Do not add those mods merely because they are popular elsewhere. Establish a clean, working server first; make one change at a time only when you have a clear reason and a recoverable copy of the world.
Allocating only the minimum for a growing server
Four gigabytes is presented as a minimum by Minecraft-hosting.pro, while other guidance points to 6 GB or 7 GB and more. If a private test works at 4 GB but the same server is intended for several friends or public access, resize before opening it broadly rather than treating the minimum as a permanent target.
Maintenance practices that prevent avoidable outages
- Keep the pack identity fixed: record the exact Ultimate profile and Minecraft 1.18.2 version used by the server.
- Coordinate player changes: ask players to update their client profile only when you have decided to update the server profile as well.
- Change one thing at a time: especially avoid introducing optimization mods while diagnosing a problem.
- Allow startup time: a slow first initialization is not automatically a failed server.
- Check memory before troubleshooting mods: compare your allocation with the 4 GB minimum, 6 GB recommendation, and 7 GB-or-more friends/public guidance.
- Verify panel type before following a guide: World Manager instructions that mention Multicraft do not automatically apply to every host.
Which hosting route should you choose?
Choose a managed host when speed matters most
Use a provider with a Stone Technology Ultimate selector when you want the shortest setup path, do not want to administer the server machine, or expect to hand the server address to friends quickly. Select at least the stated 6 GB recommendation, wait for installation and initialization, and keep the client pack identical.
Choose self-hosting when control matters most
Self-host when you have a machine with adequate spare memory and are comfortable maintaining the server process and files. Install through CurseForge, reserve about 6 GB for a small deployment or 7 GB or more for friends or public use, and accept responsibility for uptime and recovery.
