You can’t completely hide an installed app from Google Play using a documented Play Store setting. The available options solve different problems: uninstall the app from your phone, or use Android’s Private Space to hide it from some device surfaces while that space is locked. Neither is documented as removing the app from your Play account or library.
If you mean “hide an app on my phone,” Private Space may help on a supported device. If you mean “hide an app from my Play Store library,” the official guidance cited here does not describe a way to do that.

What each option hides

Uninstall an app from your phone
To remove an app from the device, open Google Play Store and use Profile picture > Manage apps & device > Manage. Select the app, then tap Uninstall. The app is removed locally; this is not a documented way to conceal its Play account or library record. Google says purchased apps can be reinstalled without purchasing them again. On a supported Android device, Private Space creates a separate space for apps. When it is locked, Google says its apps are hidden from the launcher and several other operating-system surfaces. The app remains installed in that separate space; this changes what is visible on the phone, not what is known to Play Store.

Set up and lock Private Space
- Open Android Settings and look for Security & privacy > Private space. The exact labels and availability can vary by device.
- Follow the on-screen setup instructions. Some steps require Android 15 or later, and some features depend on supported hardware.
- Move or install the app in Private Space using the options shown on your device.
- Lock Private Space when you want its apps hidden from supported device surfaces.
Some launchers may not support Private Space, so the experience can differ across phones. Check the device’s Settings and Google’s Private Space instructions for the applicable requirements and steps.
Know the privacy limits
Private Space is a device-privacy feature, not a guarantee of complete secrecy. Google warns that it may be discovered through computer access, including ADB, device logs, or other apps. Someone with access to the device or its diagnostics may therefore be able to find evidence of it.

What about preinstalled apps and Play settings?
Some phones let you disable certain preinstalled apps, which may remove them from the phone’s app list. Whether that is possible and how to do it depends on the device maker; disabling an app is not a method for hiding it from Play Store. Google Play Help explains disabling apps that came with Android.

Choose the option that matches your goal
- Want the app off this phone? Uninstall it through Play Store’s Manage apps flow.
- Want it out of the main app interface but still available? Use Private Space if your device supports it, and lock the space.
- Want to conceal it from your Play Store library or account? The official guidance cited here does not document a hide or removal procedure for that purpose.
