Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThere is no single switch that hides a seller’s details everywhere. On eBay, keep email addresses and payment information out of listings and other public areas, and use eBay Messages and checkout. In PayPal, turn off Search Privacy controls to reduce account discoverability, then review Seller Profile contact fields. These PayPal settings do not stop someone who already knows your email address or phone number from paying you.
First identify where the information is visible
“Hide PayPal information” can mean two different things: preventing people from finding your PayPal account in search, or preventing a buyer from seeing information that PayPal discloses during a payment. “Hide a seller’s email” may instead refer to removing contact details from a marketplace listing. The controls are different.

Hide contact and payment details on eBay
Remove details from every public surface
eBay’s contact-information policy generally prohibits publishing or displaying direct contact information on the site. The policy covers email addresses, payment information and bank details in listing text, listing images, profile pages, storefront pages, forums and other public areas. It includes stated category and legal exceptions, so check the policy for your listing type rather than treating the rule as absolute.

- Edit the listing description and remove email addresses, phone numbers, payment instructions, bank details and links intended to move the buyer off eBay.
- Replace images that contain an email address, PayPal address, QR code or other payment/contact information.
- Check your public profile and storefront fields for the same details.

Do not exchange details before the sale is complete
eBay separately prohibits buyers and sellers from sharing or requesting direct contact details or payment information before completing an eBay transaction. Moving a purchase off eBay can also remove eligibility for eBay protection programs. Keeping messages and checkout on eBay preserves the platform’s transaction record.
If your information is already exposed
Remove it from the listing, images and public profile first, then use eBay’s reporting or help route. eBay says violations can lead to removal and account action.

Reduce PayPal account discoverability
Turn off PayPal Search Privacy options
PayPal’s Search Privacy controls determine whether other users can find your account through PayPal search using profile information, a PayPal.Me link or payment requests.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Sign in to PayPal.
- Open Profile.
- Select Data and privacy.
- Open Search privacy.
- Turn off the available search controls you do not want enabled.
When all search privacy controls are disabled, PayPal says your account will no longer receive search confirmation or profile/photo visibility in those search results. The labels and availability can vary by account and region.

Understand the limit
Search privacy is not payment privacy. A person who already knows your PayPal email address or phone number can still send money, and a QR code can still be used. Do not promise a buyer that disabling search makes the account unreachable or removes every identifier from a transaction.
Control contact fields on a PayPal Seller Profile
PayPal’s Seller Profile Dashboard provides visibility controls for business contact fields, including the business phone number, email address and location shown on that profile. PayPal says a Seller Profile can be searched by username or business name.

- Open your PayPal Seller Profile Dashboard.
- Review the business phone, email and location fields.
- Hide any field you do not want displayed on the Seller Profile, where the control is available.
- View the profile as a visitor, if PayPal provides that preview, to confirm what is publicly listed.
This profile setting concerns the Seller Profile itself. It should not be treated as a guarantee that the same information is absent from payment receipts, account records or other transaction-specific screens.

If you sell on Etsy or another marketplace
Do not assume eBay’s exact controls exist elsewhere. Etsy’s US help guidance says members should not publicly post another member’s personal information, including personal email or phone numbers, physical addresses, identity documents and financial information. If a listing or shop exposes private information, use Etsy’s reporting tool.

For any marketplace, start with that service’s current privacy and contact-information policy, remove details from listing text and images, and keep payments in the platform’s checkout when required.
