To give someone access to Streamlabs tools, open Streamlabs Dashboard → Account Settings → Shared Access, select Add User, choose a role or configure custom permissions, and send the invitation link privately. This is separate from making someone a moderator in Twitch chat: dashboard access and platform chat roles must be granted independently.
Give someone Streamlabs Shared Access

Sign in to Streamlabs.com and open the Dashboard.

Go to Account Settings → Shared Access, then select Add User.

Choose Moderator, Administrator, or Custom. For Custom, select only the permissions the person needs for their tasks.

Confirm the invitation and send the generated invite URL directly to the intended person. Streamlabs says the invitation link expires after 72 hours, so the invitee should accept it before then. See Streamlabs Shared Access instructions.

The invitee selects Accept Invite. They can then use View My Access or open Shared Access in their own Dashboard and select Access Account.
The account owner can return to Shared Access to change the invitee’s permissions or revoke access. Streamlabs’ interface and role behavior can change, so use the current settings displayed in the Dashboard when assigning permissions.
Choose the narrowest role that fits the job

| Administrator | Provides substantially broader account access. | Streamlabs says this role includes platform access tokens and stream keys; donation settings and Shared Access settings are excluded. Reserve it for someone who genuinely needs broad control. |
Streamlabs also says shared users cannot see the settings page. These are the vendor’s documented role descriptions, not a promise that every interface detail will remain unchanged. Read the current Shared Access role guidance before granting sensitive access.

Keep dashboard access, chat moderation, and Cloudbot authorization separate
Streamlabs Dashboard permissions
Shared Access controls what the invited person can do in the Streamlabs Dashboard. It does not by itself assign that person a moderator badge or moderation powers in a streaming platform’s chat.
Twitch chat moderator role
To make the person a Twitch chat moderator, use Twitch’s Roles Manager or enter /mod USER in the channel chat, replacing USER with the person’s Twitch username. This is a separate grant from Streamlabs Shared Access. Streamlabs outlines both tasks in its Twitch moderator guide.
Cloudbot authorization
Cloudbot is the Streamlabs bot, not the human moderator. It needs its own authorization to act in chat: Streamlabs’ current guide gives /mod Streamlabs for Twitch and Kick, and directs YouTube users to YouTube Studio’s Community settings to add Streamlabs as a moderator. Follow the platform-specific steps in the Cloudbot setup guide. Authorizing the bot does not give a human access to your Dashboard.

Cloudbot command permissions
Cloudbot commands can be configured for roles such as moderators or streamers. Set those permissions in the relevant command settings; a person’s command role is distinct from their Streamlabs Shared Access permissions. See Streamlabs’ guide to adding chat commands for Twitch and YouTube.

Cloudbot spam controls
Cloudbot’s documented moderation tools cover caps, symbols, links, words, paragraphs, emotes, and Zalgo text. Link Protection includes website whitelisting and a !permit <username> command for allowing an individual to post a link; the permit duration is configurable. These controls are bot settings, not substitutes for granting the human moderator the appropriate platform role or Dashboard permissions. See Streamlabs’ Cloudbot Mod Tools guide.
Media Share review
Streamlabs says a trusted person needs at least Moderator rights for Media Share tasks. The owner can review pending requests in the Dashboard’s Recent Events queue. If review before display matters, choose the auto-show or auto-hide behavior accordingly; do not assume a shared user’s access alone determines whether a submitted request goes on screen. Troubleshoot access problems

The invitee cannot accept the link: Streamlabs documents a 72-hour expiry. If that period has passed, return to Shared Access and issue a new invitation.

The invitee can access Streamlabs but is not a Twitch chat moderator: Shared Access and Twitch roles are separate. Assign the Twitch role through Roles Manager or the

Cloudbot is not acting in chat: Check that the bot has been authorized on the relevant platform using that platform’s instructions; a human’s dashboard invitation does not authorize the bot.

The moderator cannot use a particular Dashboard tool: Review the person’s selected Shared Access role and permissions. For a Custom role, verify the specific permission boxes; for a task requiring Media Share, Streamlabs documents Moderator as the minimum.

You need to remove or reduce access: The owner can edit permissions or revoke the user from the Shared Access area.
