To get the Deer Sprite in Fortnite’s October 2026 Fortnitemares season, search Pumpkin Chests, rare chests, and Cheat Codes. A current guide also reports that you can get one by trading with a teammate or eliminating a player carrying it. None of these routes guarantees the Deer Sprite, and Epic’s event announcement does not publish its drop rate.
Where to look for the Deer Sprite
The Deer Sprite is a seasonal Fortnite Sprite associated with Fortnitemares 2026, which Epic announced on October 1, 2026. The detailed acquisition routes below come from a guide published the same day, rather than an official Epic loot table.

Pumpkin Chests and other chests
Search Pumpkin Chests first, then check rare chests. The guide describes Pumpkin Chests as a source of random Sprites, so opening one does not guarantee that it will contain the Deer Sprite. Beebom’s Deer Sprite guide lists both chest types as routes.
Cheat Codes
The same guide lists Cheat Codes as another way to seek Sprites. It does not establish a guaranteed Deer Sprite result, so treat this as another chance to find one rather than a fixed reward.

Trading or taking one from another player
Beebom also reports that players may trade Sprites with a teammate or obtain one by eliminating a player carrying it. These are reported mechanics; check whether the interactions work as described in your current match.
Which locations should you search?
Nightmare Neighborhood is a reasonable starting point: Epic confirms it as a new Fortnitemares 2026 point of interest, and Beebom recommends searching there for the Sprite. The guide also names Golden Grove, Chopped Shop, and Sunkern Shores.

What the Deer Sprite does
The Deer Sprite boosts melee attack damage, with the guide reporting a stronger benefit as it levels. Update wording reproduced by MP1st describes it as: “The Deer Sprite: Make your melee attacks hit harder.” MP1st’s coverage of the October 1 update reproduces that text.

No Epic-confirmed Deer Sprite drop rate is stated in the event announcement. Beebom reports a 1.773% rate, but that is a secondary guide’s figure, not a probability confirmed by Epic in the announcement reviewed. Do not rely on it as an official rate.
