Dungeon Munchies 2 is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access in November 2026. Its Steam store page lists November 5, while an official announcement says “11/6,” so check the Steam page on launch day rather than assuming either date settles the discrepancy. The planned first build contains the story’s opening chapter—about two to three hours of gameplay, according to the developer.
How to get the game when it launches
- Wishlist it on Steam: Visit the Dungeon Munchies 2 store page and use Steam’s wishlist feature to keep track of availability.
- Check your computer against the sequel’s requirements: The listed minimums are in the table below. These are developer-published requirements, not independent performance testing.
- Recheck the store page on launch day: The page is the place to confirm availability, regional price, and any purchase details. The reviewed listing did not show an exact unlock time or regional price.
- Purchase and install through Steam: Once the game is available, use its Steam store page to obtain and launch it.
The official sources conflict by one day: the Steam product page lists November 5, 2026, while the announcement archive includes an “11/6 Dungeon Munchies 2 Early Access” announcement. Until the launch date is confirmed in practice, treat November 5 as the store’s listed date, not a guarantee that the game will unlock then.

What the Early Access version includes
The developer describes the initial release as the first story chapter, with about two to three hours of gameplay. That is the stated scope of the opening build, not the length of the eventual full game. Early Access is a work in progress: the developer says features may change, and plans to add chapters and address bugs and design issues as development continues.

#1 Best Overall
- With 40 Dungeons to choose from, every game will be different. Very different.
- Now the same size (and price) as the other numbered Munchkin expansions.
- The cards in this set also work well with Munchkin Shakespeare and Munchkin legends, and many will work with any set using the original fantasy Munchkin card design.
- Number of players: 3-6
Player feedback is intended to come primarily through Steam Community and Discord, with the developer also monitoring other platforms. Discord is a feedback channel, not a stated requirement to play.
Check whether your PC or Mac meets the listed minimums
| Platform | Minimum operating system | Processor | Other requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 10; 64-bit processor and operating system | Intel Core i5 | 1 GB available storage |
| macOS | macOS 11 | Apple M1; Apple processor | 1 GB available storage |
These minimum specifications come from the Dungeon Munchies 2 Steam listing. They do not establish how well the game will run on every system that meets them. Use the sequel’s requirements rather than those for the original game.

What kind of game is Dungeon Munchies 2?
It is a side-scrolling action RPG and the sequel to Dungeon Munchies. You play as a zombie chef exploring a ruined space colony, fighting alien creatures, and cooking them into dishes. The original’s central loop—hunting creatures, cooking them, and eating dishes to gain abilities—is described on its Steam listing.
How the sequel changes character growth
In the Steam listing’s producer Q&A, the developer describes a class system replacing the original’s weapon system; each class has four skill slots. The sequel also adds randomly dropped abilities alongside story-based growth. A separate stat-growth system is described as another way to become stronger through farming. These are developer descriptions, not independent assessments of balance or difficulty.

Do you need to play the first game?
The sequel’s lead artist and writer says its story picks up from the first game’s ending, so playing the original may help with context. The sequel’s store listing does not say that owning or completing the original is required.
Language information
The sequel’s Steam page lists English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese for the interface and subtitles. It does not indicate that these languages have full audio support.

Decide whether to start in Early Access or wait
The opening build is a better fit if you are comfortable with an incomplete game, want to try the first chapter, or are interested in giving feedback during development. Waiting may suit you better if you prefer a finished story or want to judge the full game’s scope before buying.
Because no regional price was shown on the reviewed page, compare the price displayed in your Steam region with the developer’s stated two-to-three-hour opening chapter and your own tolerance for unfinished content. The developer’s planned scope and estimated timeline can change during Early Access.
