What Samsung Remote Service does
Samsung Remote Service is a support session in which a Samsung representative can remotely view a Galaxy phone and, with the required consent, assist with settings, troubleshooting, software updates, and related device questions. Smart Tutor is the connection software used for the session. Samsung describes its features as including screen sharing, remote control, chat, and controls for locking the screen or an application; available behavior may differ by device and region. How to start a support session
Start with Samsung, not an unexpected caller. Contact Samsung using the support option listed for your country and request Remote Service. The support representative supplies the six-digit PIN or connection code you enter in Smart Tutor.

- Open Smart Tutor or the device’s Remote Management option. Depending on your Galaxy model, country, and software, Smart Tutor may be available through the Galaxy Store, Samsung Members, or Settings.
- Review the app information and prompts. Follow the on-screen instructions and accept the applicable terms before connecting.
- Contact Samsung Customer Care. Ask the representative to start a Remote Service session and wait for them to provide the six-digit code.
- Enter the code in Smart Tutor. Review any connection or access prompts and choose whether to allow them.

Samsung India documents these routes: Settings > Tips and user guide > Remote management, or Samsung Members > Support > Quick help > Remote Management. These are regional examples, not universal labels. What you can control during the session
Private-app access requires a prompt
Samsung says a warning appears if a Care Pro attempts to open private apps such as Messages, Phonebook, Gallery, or Camera. You can decline that access. Samsung also says the technician cannot control the device without your consent. Stop screen sharing with the connection control
Samsung documents a connection control in the notification shade that stops the representative from viewing the screen. Smart Tutor’s listing also identifies screen lock and application lock functions. Use the controls presented on your device if you want to pause or limit what is visible. Requirements and menu differences
Samsung’s regional support pages do not state one consistent Android minimum: the India Remote Service page lists Android 6.0, while the US and UK pages list Android 2.4. Treat these as requirements published on those regional pages, not as a single global compatibility rule. Check your country’s Remote Service page or your phone’s Remote Management menu for the applicable guidance. Samsung Canada also notes that instructions and the interface may vary by model, country, and OS or One UI version, and that Smart Tutor use may be limited in some countries. A stable, high-speed internet connection is listed in Samsung’s US instructions. Because the requirements differ by region, confirm the local page rather than assuming that the US connectivity or Android details apply everywhere. Samsung US Remote Service instructions
Safety checks before connecting
- Initiate the support request through Samsung’s official local support route.
- Enter a code only when you are actively working with the Samsung representative you contacted; do not accept an unsolicited code or give one to an unknown caller.
- Read access prompts and decline any private-app access you do not want to grant.
- Use the notification-shade connection control to stop screen sharing when needed.
Do you need to buy anything?
Samsung’s instructions describe the Galaxy phone, Smart Tutor software, and an internet connection as the relevant parts of the service. They do not establish a need to buy a new phone, router, repair tool, replacement part, or printed guide to use Remote Service.
