To get notified when something goes on sale, save the exact product in the retailer’s app or website and turn on its price or deal alerts. For a target price on an Amazon item, use Alexa for Shopping on the product page or a price tracker such as Camelcamelcamel. Chrome also offers product price tracking in supported countries. Before buying, check the item’s price history and the live checkout total: an alert means a tracked condition changed, not necessarily that the final price is a bargain.
Choose the right kind of sale alert
An exact-product price watch follows one item you have already chosen. A deal recommendation looks for offers matching a broader need. Retailer alerts, price trackers and browser features can serve different purposes, so first decide whether you want a specific price threshold, notice of any price drop, an availability alert or relevant deals.

- One specific item: use the retailer’s watch or notification feature, or set a target-price alert.
- Amazon price history and alerts: consider Camelcamelcamel or the Keepa Chrome extension.
- Browser-native tracking: Chrome’s built-in feature may be available if you meet its country and account requirements.
- Deals in a category: Amazon describes broad deal alerts based on a product need, rather than a watch on just one listing.
Availability and alert controls vary by retailer, marketplace and country. Look for labels such as “notify me,” “watch,” “save to wishlist,” or deal and communications settings; then enable the relevant app, email or browser notifications.

Use Alexa for Shopping on the product page
Amazon says shoppers can ask Alexa for Shopping to notify them when a product reaches a chosen price. On an eligible product detail page, use Alexa for Shopping and request a threshold—for example, “Alert me when this drops to $50.” Amazon says it will notify you when the price reaches that target. The example amount is only illustrative; choose a price that makes sense for the item and your budget.

Ask for deals matching a broader need
If you have not settled on one listing, Amazon also describes deal alerts based on a product need. These provide daily updates when matching deals become available. That is different from a target-price watch: it is intended to surface matching offers rather than wait for one product to reach a specific price.
Check the product’s price history
On eligible Amazon product pages, open the price-history view before deciding whether an alert represents a meaningful drop. Amazon says its feature can show up to 365 days of history. Its stated availability is country-dependent: its 2026 article says price history is available in the US, UK, Canada and India, and that 365-day insights were rolling out in the US, UK and India, with broader availability expected in the coming weeks. These rollout details can change.
Track an Amazon price with Camelcamelcamel
- Copy the Amazon product URL for the item you want to follow.
- Paste the URL into Camelcamelcamel’s tracking setup.
- Choose which price type to watch: Amazon, third-party new, or third-party used.
- Set a price threshold and start tracking; Camelcamelcamel says it will email you when the price drops.
These price types are not interchangeable. Compare the same condition and seller class you intend to buy from, and confirm the current Amazon price before purchasing. Camelcamelcamel lists Amazon marketplaces in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States; check its current coverage if your marketplace is elsewhere.
Use Chrome’s built-in price tracking
Google’s documented Chrome price-tracking feature lets shoppers track a product from its product page or use Chrome’s “Track prices” command. Find tracked items under Bookmarks > Tracked products. To manage mobile or email price alerts, Google points users to Settings > Google services.
Google lists Australia, Canada, India, Japan and the United States for this feature. Its documented tracking and insights features also require Chrome sign-in, tab and history sync, and the “Make searches and browsing better” setting. If the feature or alert controls do not appear, check your country and these account and sync settings; availability may have changed since Google’s help information was published.
Consider Keepa for Amazon price and availability alerts
Keepa’s Chrome Web Store listing describes Amazon price-history charts as well as price-drop and availability alerts. It says tracking can start without an account. Keepa is an Amazon-focused browser extension, not a general alert system for every retailer. Check the current listing for supported browsers, devices and notification channels before installing or relying on it.
Compare alerts before choosing one
| Option | What it can track | Alert or context | Important limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retailer’s own app or site | A saved product, wishlist item or deals category if the retailer offers it | Depends on the retailer; may be app, email or browser notifications | Controls and availability differ by store. |
| Amazon Alexa for Shopping | A target price on an Amazon product; Amazon also describes deal alerts based on a product need | Amazon says it notifies when the target is reached; broader deal alerts send daily updates | Use the product detail page and verify the live offer before buying. |
| Camelcamelcamel | Amazon price types: Amazon, third-party new and third-party used | Price threshold and email alert; price-history charts include high, low and average prices | Listed Amazon marketplaces are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the UK and the US. |
| Keepa for Chrome | Amazon prices and availability | Price history, price-drop and availability alerts | Browser extension; check its current device, browser and alert-channel support. |
| Chrome price tracking | Tracked products in supported locations | Mobile or email alerts can be managed in Google services settings | Google lists Australia, Canada, India, Japan and the US and specifies sign-in, sync and browsing-setting requirements. |
Verify that an alert is a real deal
Before acting on a notification, open the live listing and compare like with like. The listed price may not reflect the final amount or the exact item you meant to track.
Recommended Free Tools
- Confirm the variant, size, color, model and condition.
- Check whether the seller is Amazon or a third party, and compare the same seller class used in your price watch.
- Review shipping, taxes, coupons and other checkout adjustments.
- Compare the current price with the item’s history, including its high, low and average where available.
- Recheck the checkout price immediately before purchase; a notification is not a guarantee that the offer remains available.
Privacy and setup trade-offs
Chrome’s documented tracking requires a Google account sign-in, tab and history sync, and an additional browsing setting. A third-party browser extension involves a separate decision about whether you trust the provider and its requested permissions. Check the current settings and extension listing before enabling either option. A retailer’s own alert avoids assuming every store supports the same controls: verify its specific notification choices in the app or account.
Troubleshooting missed or confusing alerts
- No Chrome tracking option appears: confirm that the feature is available in your country, that Chrome is signed in, tab and history sync is on, and “Make searches and browsing better” is enabled.
- You tracked the wrong offer: revisit the product and ensure the price type, condition and seller class match what you want to buy.
- An alert arrives but the price is different: open the live listing and checkout. Seller, shipping, taxes, coupons or a changed offer can affect the total.
- A retailer alert is missing: check that the product is still saved or watched and that the retailer’s app, email or browser notifications are permitted. Retailer controls differ.
- A price history or alert feature is unavailable: check the provider’s current country, marketplace, device and listing eligibility; the described features do not establish coverage of every product or listing.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server, not a sale-alert or price-monitoring service. If you need a screenshot of a product page for a workflow, its API can capture one with a GET request:
Quick Recap
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation. ScreenshotNeo removes supported cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are not billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. It does not notify you when a product’s price changes. Learn about ScreenshotNeo or sign up free for 1,000 screenshots a month, with no card.
