How to Get Final Fantasy XIV Event Items After an Event Ends

Missed an FFXIV seasonal reward? Check for an announced rerun and search the exact item at the event attendant, Calamity Salvager, or official store. Seasonal Event Replay does not grant rewards.

Usually, you cannot finish a seasonal quest or claim its reward once the event has ended. Your best options are to check for an announced rerun and to look up the exact item at the event attendant, Calamity Salvager, or Mog Station. These routes are conditional: there is no general system that makes every missed event reward available later.

What you can do after an FFXIV event ends

Start with the item, not with a general search for “old event rewards.” An event item might have come from a quest, a vendor, a campaign exchange, or a store listing. The way it was originally awarded affects whether there is any official route to get it after the event period.

For a missed quest reward, the practical possibilities are an announced rerun that lets you complete the event while it is active, or an official vendor or store that explicitly lists that item. Seasonal Event Replay is a separate feature: it can reopen quest content for eligible players, but it does not award the event’s rewards.

Route to check What it can do What it does not establish
Event rerun Give players another opportunity to complete the event quests and earn their rewards while the rerun is active. That the event will return, when it might return, or that every event will be repeated.
Seasonal Event Replay Let eligible players replay certain past quest content. Recovery of rewards. The official event sites state that replay does not grant them.
Event attendant or Calamity Salvager Sell or exchange particular items when the relevant NPC lists them and the player meets its conditions. A universal catalogue of past event rewards.
Mog Station or official Online Store Offer an item if the exact reward is currently listed for the player’s region. That a missed event reward is currently for sale just because it was associated with an event.

Square Enix’s Make It Rain Campaign 2026 page explicitly says seasonal quests cannot be completed after the event concludes. It also identifies a limited vendor exception: certain items from earlier campaign iterations were available from that campaign’s attendant. That example shows why it is worth checking the event’s own announcement, but it is not evidence that other events have the same exception.

The main question is not simply whether an item is “old.” It is whether its original acquisition route is still open, has been restored for a limited period, or is explicitly supported by a current vendor or store listing. An event’s age alone does not answer that. Nor does the fact that another reward from the same event can be bought or exchanged prove that the specific item you want is included.

How to check a specific item

  1. Write down the exact item name and its original event. Check the relevant FINAL FANTASY XIV Lodestone event page or official event announcement. Confirm the event dates and whether the item was a quest reward, vendor item, exchange item, or store item.
  2. Check whether the event is still active. If it is, follow the event’s stated quest requirements and complete the relevant steps before the published end date. Do not assume that a quest can be finished afterward.
  3. If it has ended, look for an official rerun announcement. A rerun is useful only while it is active and if you complete the required content. An earlier rerun is not a promise of another one or a schedule for future returns.
  4. Inspect the event attendant and Calamity Salvager. Search for the exact item, and read any conditions shown for purchase or exchange. The Calamity Salvager’s official listing includes quest-reward purchase categories, but its available stock depends on conditions the player has met.
  5. Check Mog Station or the official Online Store for the exact listing. Confirm the item name and availability for your region. A mention of optional progression items on an event site does not mean its event rewards are for sale there.
  6. If no official route lists the item, treat availability as unconfirmed. Keep an eye on official announcements for a rerun rather than relying on assumptions about trading, account sales, or unofficial sellers.

When checking an NPC, an event page, or a store, match the full item name rather than relying on a similar-looking item or a broad category. A vendor may list some items associated with an event without listing its main quest reward, mount, hairstyle, or costume.

It can help to record the item’s exact spelling and what type of reward it is before checking. A mount, hairstyle, outfit, orchestrion roll, and quest-related exchange item may have different acquisition routes, even when they came from the same collaboration. Search the official event notice for the reward name, then use that notice to identify the NPC, exchange, or activity involved. If a vendor has several similarly named entries, verify that the listing is the item you want rather than a related reward.

Also separate “the item was once available” from “the item is available now.” An old event page can establish how a reward was originally earned, but a current vendor listing, active event notice, or exact store entry is what establishes a route today. If a page only describes the original event and does not name a later purchase or exchange option, do not treat that omission as proof of availability.

Reruns and replay are not the same thing

A rerun can restore the chance to earn rewards

If Square Enix brings an event back, players can have another active-period opportunity to complete its quests. The FFXV collaboration A Nocturne for Heroes is a concrete example: it returned from September 24 through October 13, 2026. The 2026 announcement described the event as identical to the earlier version. Its rewards included the Regalia Type-G mount, Lucian Prince costume set, Lucian Locks hairstyle, and orchestrion rolls.

The dates matter: this was a limited rerun, not a permanent reopening. As of October 13, 2026, that announced event period reaches its final date. The announcement demonstrates that a collaboration can return; it does not establish that it will return again.

A rerun is therefore an opportunity, not a recovery button. If the reward is tied to finishing the event content, the practical step is to do that content during the announced dates and meet the requirements listed for that event. Do not assume an old quest will remain open after the rerun closes, or that a rerun notice changes the rules for unrelated seasonal events.

The FFXV example also illustrates why the exact event notice matters. The 2026 Lodestone announcement said the rerun was identical to the earlier event, while the event’s special site explained what eligible prior completers could do with Seasonal Event Replay. Those are separate details: one describes the event returning, and the other describes replay eligibility and its limits.

Replay lets eligible players revisit quests, not reclaim rewards

The official A Nocturne for Heroes special site says, “You cannot obtain rewards by using the Seasonal Event Replay feature.” During the 2026 rerun, eligible players who had completed the event in 2019, 2021, or 2024 could replay its quests. That eligibility allowed them to revisit the story, not earn the rewards again through replay.

The 2026 Maiden’s Rhapsody event page gives the same important distinction: eligible players can replay past event quests, but replay does not provide rewards. Do not activate replay expecting it to function as a reward claim or a second completion for event items.

In short, ask what you are trying to do. If you want to see the story again, replay may be relevant if you meet the event’s eligibility rules. If you want a mount, outfit, hairstyle, or other reward you missed, replay is not the route; check for an active rerun or an explicit current listing instead. The feature’s name can sound like it reopens an event in full, so read the relevant notice before using it.

Read replay warnings before activating the feature

For A Nocturne for Heroes, the official special site warns that replay changes the status of certain quests to incomplete. While those quests remain incomplete, players cannot purchase or exchange quest-related items from the Ironworks hand or recompense officers until they complete the quests again.

The same notice warns about the event deadline: if the period ends before a player finishes the replayed quests, the affected items remain unavailable even if the player had completed the quests before starting replay. This is a specific warning for that event’s replay system and named NPCs; it should not be assumed to describe every seasonal event.

  • Read the event’s replay instructions and warnings before activating the feature.
  • Consider whether you can finish the replayed quests before the event deadline if quest completion affects purchases or exchanges.
  • Do not use replay as a workaround for a missed reward; the official notice says it grants no rewards.

This warning is especially relevant if you have already finished a quest chain and use a vendor whose purchase or exchange options depend on that completion. Before changing quest status, confirm which items could become unavailable, which NPCs are involved, and whether the event period gives you enough time to finish replaying the required steps. The warning is not a reason to avoid replay in every case; it is a reason to understand its effects before you activate it.

Do not apply the Ironworks hand and recompense officer warning to every event. Those details come from the A Nocturne for Heroes special site. Other events can have different rules, NPCs, or no comparable replay system. Follow the notice for the event you are actually playing rather than assuming all replay features behave alike.

What each official source can tell you

The Lodestone event page or announcement

Use the official event page to confirm the event’s dates, quest requirements, rewards, and any explicit instructions for items from earlier iterations. For example, the Make It Rain Campaign 2026 page states both that seasonal quests cannot be completed after the campaign ends and that certain items from previous iterations were available from its campaign attendant. Read the notice for the particular event rather than applying that exception to another one.

Event notices are also the place to verify whether a rerun has actually been announced, when it begins and ends, and whether its content is described as identical to a previous version. Dates are not incidental: a limited event can close before you finish, and post-event access to a quest should not be assumed. If an announcement gives a deadline, plan around that deadline rather than expecting the event page to remain a way to start or finish the quest afterward.

The event attendant

An event attendant is worth checking when the event announcement specifically says that it carries items from an earlier iteration. The Make It Rain Campaign 2026 page is an example: it named certain previous-campaign items available from its attendant even though seasonal quests could no longer be completed after the campaign ended. This is a specific exception, not a guarantee that every event attendant stocks old rewards indefinitely.

Read the attendant’s actual list and any event instructions. Do not infer that a named NPC sells every prize from an event, or that the same items will be stocked during every future campaign. If the exact reward does not appear, the existence of the attendant alone does not establish a way to obtain it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The Calamity Salvager

The official Calamity Salvager listing has purchase categories for some quest rewards, but availability depends on conditions the player has met. A category appearing in the listing is not proof that a particular event item is stocked or that every player qualifies. Check the exact item and any displayed conditions.

In practice, this means you should treat the listing as a place to verify a possibility, not as a complete index of all seasonal rewards. Look for the item itself and any eligibility requirements shown in the game. If it is absent, do not assume the category name means the item will appear later automatically.

Mog Station and the official Online Store

Check a store only for the exact reward and your region. The A Nocturne for Heroes special site mentions optional progression items sold through Mog Station for players who need to meet the event requirements. That is not the same as saying the Regalia mount or another missed reward is currently listed there. The official sources cited here do not confirm a current store listing for any particular missed event reward.

Store availability is item-specific. Verify the displayed name and the region applicable to your account before concluding that a reward can be bought. A listing for progression help is not a listing for the event reward itself, and an item’s past connection to an event does not establish that it is currently sold through Mog Station or the Online Store.

What the listed cost and eligibility mean

There is no universal price for getting an old event item because there is no universal recovery route. If a vendor or official store lists the exact item, use the current in-game or store listing to check its price, any exchange requirements, and who is eligible. The official pages discussed here do not provide a general price schedule for missed event rewards, and they do not establish that any particular past reward is currently for sale.

Similarly, do not assume every player has the same options. The Calamity Salvager can vary its stock according to conditions the player has met, Seasonal Event Replay is for eligible players, and a store listing must be checked for the relevant region. If a route is not visible or its requirements are unclear, return to the event’s official page rather than spending currency or buying unrelated progression items on the assumption that they will unlock the reward.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming an event reward automatically becomes purchasable. Some previous-iteration items were available from the Make It Rain campaign attendant, but that is an event-specific exception.
  • Confusing quest replay with reward recovery. Replay restores access to eligible quest content; it does not award event rewards.
  • Waiting for a rerun as though it were guaranteed. A past return is evidence of that return only, not a commitment to repeat it.
  • Buying progression items to try to recover a missed reward. Optional progression items mentioned on an event site help with requirements; they do not establish access to an old reward.
  • Assuming every player sees the same vendor options. The Calamity Salvager’s stock can depend on conditions met by the player.
  • Relying on unofficial account sales or item trades. The official routes to verify are event announcements, in-game vendors, and exact official store listings; official notices cited here do not establish unofficial routes as a way to recover a missed item.

Another common mistake is treating a past event page as current instructions. An old notice can show how the item was obtained at the time, but its dates may have passed and its quest may no longer be available. Look for a later official announcement or a present-day listing that names the item. If neither exists, there is no confirmed current route in the official information described here.

Finally, avoid spending time or money on something that solves a different problem. Optional progression items may help a character meet event requirements while the event is active; they do not restore a missed reward after the event closes. A general store page, a similar item, or a physical collectible does not by itself provide the digital event item attached to your character.

A practical decision checklist

  • Event still active? Complete the required quest or exchange before the published deadline.
  • Event ended, but an official rerun is announced? Check the new dates and requirements, then earn the reward during the rerun if it is available through its active content.
  • Already completed the event and want to revisit it? Check whether you are eligible for Seasonal Event Replay, and read its event-specific warnings. Do not expect rewards from replay.
  • Looking for an older item? Search the exact reward at the relevant event attendant and Calamity Salvager, then check an official store for an exact regional listing.
  • No official listing or rerun notice? The official information cited here does not confirm a current way to obtain that item. Watch official announcements for changes.

For the 2026 FFXV rerun specifically, the important distinction is that eligible prior completers could replay the quests, while reward recovery depended on completing the event during its active rerun—not on replaying it. For any other event, use its own official announcement and item listings to determine what remains possible.

A quick way to apply the checklist is to write down three things: the exact reward name, the event that originally awarded it, and the route that originally gave it to you. Then check the current event notice, the named in-game NPCs, and the exact official store listing, in that order. This keeps you from mistaking a replay feature, a related item, or a historical event page for proof that the reward is claimable now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still get an FFXIV event mount after the event is over?

Only if an official route currently supports that exact mount: for example, an announced rerun that is active, a vendor listing with conditions you meet, or an exact official store listing for your region. A past event reward is not automatically purchasable, and Seasonal Event Replay does not grant rewards.

Can I replay a seasonal event to get its rewards again?

No. The official A Nocturne for Heroes 2026 special site says, “You cannot obtain rewards by using the Seasonal Event Replay feature.” Replay lets eligible players revisit certain quest content; it is not a reward claim.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Where can I buy old FFXIV event items?

Check the relevant event attendant and the Calamity Salvager for the exact item, then check Mog Station or the official Online Store for an exact listing in your region. These are conditional options, not a complete catalogue of old rewards. Verify the listing and requirements before assuming an item is obtainable.

Can I finish a seasonal quest after the event ends?

Do not count on it. Square Enix’s Make It Rain Campaign 2026 page says seasonal quests cannot be completed after the event has concluded. Check the specific event notice for its dates and any explicit post-event vendor exception.

Does every event return eventually?

No schedule or guarantee is established by the examples here. A Nocturne for Heroes returned in 2026 after earlier versions, but one rerun does not promise another return or show that every seasonal event will be repeated.

Is the 2026 A Nocturne for Heroes rerun still active?

The announced rerun ran from September 24 through October 13, 2026. October 13 was its final date, so it should be treated as a limited event period rather than a permanent way to start or finish the quests.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Why did replay make some quest-related purchases unavailable in A Nocturne for Heroes?

The event’s special site warns that replay marks certain quests incomplete and blocks purchase or exchange of related items from the Ironworks hand or recompense officers until those quests are completed again. It also warns that if the event ends before replay is finished, those items remain unavailable. This warning is specific to that event’s replay system.

The Bottom Line

After an FFXIV event ends, first check for an official rerun, then verify the exact item at the event attendant, Calamity Salvager, or Mog Station. Seasonal Event Replay is for eligible players revisiting quest content, not recovering rewards. If no official notice or listing names the item, there is no confirmed current route to claim it.
