Treat each alert as a lead—not an award or proof that you qualify—and confirm the current details on the sponsor’s official page before applying.
Set up new-scholarship and deadline alerts
Start with a profile-based matching service
Fastweb says it uses information in your profile to match you with scholarships. During registration, choose the separate options for new scholarship matches and approaching-deadline reminders; enabling one does not necessarily enable the other. Its registration page describes up to seven new-match notifications and about one to two deadline emails in a busy week. Those are service estimates, not a delivery guarantee, and may change. Complete your profile carefully and revisit it if the matches seem incomplete or irrelevant: results depend on the information you supply. For a particular award, Fastweb advises contacting the sponsor with scholarship-specific questions. Fastweb’s scholarship guidance

To change Fastweb notification choices, go to My Profile > My Account > Subscriptions. Fastweb recommends adding [email protected] to your email contacts to help keep scholarship notices and deadline warnings out of spam. If messages stop arriving, check spam and filtering rules; Fastweb says an email provider may be blocking them. Fastweb FAQ

Use more than one source for opportunities
No single alert service is established as covering every scholarship, and email filtering or a service’s database can limit what you see. Add other discovery routes rather than relying on one inbox:
- Ask your school counselor and college financial-aid office about awards they recommend.
- Check your state higher-education agency and employers, including a parent’s employer if relevant.
- Look at community and religious organizations that serve your area or interests.
- Use the U.S. Department of Labor’s free scholarship search tool, which Federal Student Aid recommends. Federal Student Aid: Scholarships
- Browse Scholarship America’s listings of currently open awards and upcoming opportunities, then confirm each listing with its sponsor. Scholarship America: Browse Scholarships
- Check relevant local organizations and scholarship providers directly; a directory listing can become outdated.
Understand College Board’s optional Student Search Service
College Board’s Student Search Service is a voluntary, opt-in program through which participating organizations may contact students about scholarships, financial aid, and educational opportunities by email or postal mail. It is a separate discovery route, not a guarantee of scholarship selection or admission; recipients still need to apply. College Board Privacy Center: Student Search Service

Before opting in, review what information is shared. College Board’s policy describes sharing specified information—including contact and school details, expected graduation, and score-range data—with participating education organizations for opportunity communications. Those organizations may pay College Board a license fee; students and families do not pay for Search. You can opt out through the privacy settings and other contact routes described in the policy. Verify every alert before applying
A match means an opportunity may fit the profile information you provided; it does not mean you have won an award or meet every requirement. Federal Student Aid advises students to check eligibility because requirements vary. Before investing time in an application, confirm these details on the scholarship sponsor’s official page:
- Whether applications are currently open and the deadline, including its time zone if stated.
- Eligibility rules and any restrictions that apply to you.
- Required essays, documents, recommendations, or other materials.
- The submission method and whether the application was successfully received.
- Renewal conditions, if the award may continue beyond one term or year.
Direct award-specific questions to the sponsor and use its official page to check for changes. Federal Student Aid recommends submitting at least a day before the deadline because application sites may be overloaded near closing. Federal Student Aid: Scholarships

Email reminders are useful, but a simple list makes it easier to see what is due next and what remains unfinished. For each award, record:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Award name and the official sponsor URL.
- Eligibility notes that matter to your application.
- Deadline and time zone, when provided.
- Required materials and who must provide them.
- Submission status, including the date you applied or confirmed receipt.
Sort the tracker by due date and start early enough to gather documents and references. A paper or digital planner can help record dates, but it is not a source of scholarship alerts.
