Google does not provide a setting to force-enable a model or a guaranteed date for when an individual account will receive it. A Google AI plan may expand access to selected models, but it is not a promise of immediate access to every new release.
Check which models Google currently offers your account
- Sign in to Gemini on the web or in the mobile app using the Google account you expect to have access.
- Open the model name in the prompt box to view the available choices. Google’s Use Gemini Apps help page explains how to switch models.
- Note which models appear. The picker shows the options currently offered to that account on that product surface; a model announced elsewhere may not yet appear there.
Check account type, plan, and administrator access
Personal accounts and Google AI plans
Google says select Google One AI plans expand access to features and models in Gemini Apps for personal accounts. The plan page lists model access and usage limits, but Google also cautions that “Model names, versions, and availability may change.” Consult the current Gemini Apps limits and upgrades for Google AI subscribers page for the entitlements that apply to your country and plan. Expanded access does not establish that a subscription immediately unlocks every newly announced model.

Before subscribing solely to get a specific model, check whether Google explicitly lists that model for the plan and account you intend to use. Access may vary and be affected by testing, experimentation, or availability.

Work and school accounts
Gemini Apps requirements differ by account type. Google’s computer help lists personal Google Accounts, qualifying work accounts for users aged 18 or older, and school accounts where the institution has enabled the service. If you use a work or school account, ask the administrator whether Gemini is enabled and whether your account qualifies. An eligible account or enabled service still does not guarantee access to a particular model.

Check requirements for the exact Gemini surface
Availability on Gemini’s web app does not automatically mean the mobile app or Gemini in Chrome is available under the same conditions. Check the official requirements for the surface you’re using:
- Gemini web app: Google reports availability in more than 70 languages and over 230 countries and territories; the accessed help page gives no year for that figure. See Where you can use the Gemini web app.
- Gemini mobile app: Google says availability may differ from the web app and is expanding gradually, consistent with local regulations and its AI principles. Use the mobile requirements on the Use Gemini Apps page.
- Gemini in Chrome: Google lists separate region, device, Chrome-version, sign-in, language, and—in some work or school cases—administrator requirements. Its Gemini in Chrome availability help page says, “We’re gradually releasing Gemini in Chrome, so it might not be available to you just yet.” This gradual-release notice applies to Gemini in Chrome, not as a timetable for every Gemini model.
If a newly purchased plan is missing from the mobile app
Google’s documented troubleshooting step is to restart the Gemini app. Keep the Gemini or Google app current as required by Google’s live plan instructions. For current plan-management steps, see Manage your Google AI plan from Gemini Apps. Restarting can address a plan-display issue; it does not force a model rollout to your account.

What to do if the model still does not appear
The official guidance covered here provides no manual control for adding a model that has not been released or enabled for your account, and no guaranteed individual rollout date. Use the models shown in your picker and recheck Google’s official Gemini help and announcements for changes in availability. Avoid unofficial APKs, sharing credentials, or misrepresenting your region: none is an official way to obtain account access.
