Install the VPN app, choose Ukraine and connect; websites will generally see the VPN’s exit IP instead of your regular public IP. A Ukraine label does not necessarily mean the server hardware is in Ukraine, and a VPN connection does not guarantee that a particular website or streaming service will work.
How to get a Ukrainian IP address with a VPN
- Choose a VPN that currently offers Ukraine. Check whether the location is physically in Ukraine or virtual, and confirm that its apps or router setup suit your devices.
- Install the VPN app and sign in. Use the provider’s official app for your device, or its instructions for a compatible VPN client or router.
- Select Ukraine and connect. In the app’s location list, choose Ukraine. Wait for the app to confirm the connection before opening the site you want to use.
- Check the result. Use an IP-location checker to see whether the public IP is identified as Ukrainian, then test the particular website or service you need. Location databases and websites can interpret VPN addresses differently.
A VPN changes the public IP address sites generally see while the connection is active; it does not change your device’s underlying location or guarantee access to region-specific content. Disconnecting the VPN normally returns traffic to your usual internet connection.

Does a Ukraine VPN location mean the server is in Ukraine?
No. A provider can offer a Ukrainian IP address through a virtual location whose physical server is in another country. That may be sufficient if your goal is to appear to websites as though you are connecting from Ukraine, but it is not the same as having VPN hardware physically located there.

Location inventory, virtual-server arrangements and plan limits may change. Check the provider’s current page before choosing, especially if physical server location or a particular free-plan feature matters to you.

Can you get a Ukrainian IP address without installing an app on every device?
A VPN-compatible router can route traffic from multiple connected devices through one VPN connection. This still requires a VPN provider that offers a Ukraine location and a router that supports VPN-client configuration. Setup depends on the router and provider; follow the provider’s router instructions and check that the VPN connection is active before using the devices. Proton describes router installation as an option, but router support and steps vary by model.
Will a Ukrainian IP address unlock a website or streaming service?
Not necessarily. Websites and streaming platforms can block VPN traffic, use additional location checks, or change their policies. A provider’s claim that it addresses streaming blocks is not a guarantee of access. Test the specific service you need, and check the provider’s current plan limitations; for example, Proton says some premium streaming features are unavailable on its free version.

What should you compare before choosing?
- Current Ukraine availability: Confirm the location appears in the provider’s present server list.
- Physical or virtual location: Look for the physical hosting country if that distinction matters to you.
- Device and router support: Check app compatibility, supported VPN protocols and router-client instructions.
- Plan limits: Verify whether Ukraine is available on the plan you intend to use, including any free-tier restrictions.
- Privacy information: Review the provider’s privacy documentation and jurisdiction directly; marketing language alone does not establish privacy protections.
- Your target service: Confirm that the site or platform you need currently accepts the connection.
