Hostinger includes one year of domain registration with some eligible new hosting purchases of 12 months or longer. You still pay for hosting, and the domain is not free to keep indefinitely: renewal is charged at the standard rate. To claim it, choose a qualifying plan, then register an available eligible domain during setup or from your Hostinger account dashboard.
What “free domain” means at Hostinger
The offer covers the domain’s first year of registration when you buy an eligible hosting plan. It is not a standalone free-domain offer, and it does not make the hosting free. Hostinger’s support instructions state, “The free domain is valid for one year.” After that period, keeping the domain requires renewal at the standard rate.

Hostinger’s offer page highlights annual Premium and Business web-hosting plans, while its support pages describe additional plan categories. Because the eligible categories can vary by brand, region, and offer, confirm that the free-domain benefit appears for your exact plan before paying. The support guidance sets a broadly consistent threshold: a new eligible purchase with a term of at least 12 months. Monthly plans, Single Web Hosting, upgrades, renewals, and simply changing an existing billing cycle are excluded in the cited help guidance.
Which Hostinger plans qualify?
Hostinger’s current pages do not give one universal list of qualifying plans. They consistently require a new purchase lasting at least 12 months, but differ on which hosting categories qualify. One support page lists Web Premium, Web Business, and cloud hosting; another also names certain KVM VPS plans and Business Premium Email. The promotional page focuses on annual Premium and Business web hosting.

Use the benefit shown at checkout for your country and Hostinger brand as the deciding factor rather than assuming every cloud, VPS, or email plan qualifies. A plan name alone is not enough: check the billing term and the free-domain offer before completing the purchase.
How to claim the free domain
- Choose a new eligible plan. Select a term of at least 12 months, and verify that the free-domain benefit is displayed for that plan and region before checkout.
- Open the domain claim flow. Search for a name during hosting setup, or use the domain-claim option in your Hostinger account dashboard.
- Choose an eligible available domain. The exact name must be available, and the extension must be included in the offer shown to your account. Extension availability can differ by brand and promotion and may change.
- Review the costs and dates. Before confirming, check the displayed first-year registration charge, renewal price, and renewal date. The renewal amount depends on the extension; the claim screen is the place to verify the current figure.
- Submit accurate registrant details and verify ownership. Hostinger says verification must be completed within 15 days to keep the domain active.
- Claim within the deadline. The free domain must be claimed within 12 months of buying the eligible plan. Save the renewal date so you can decide whether to keep the domain before the first year ends.
Hostinger estimates activation and propagation usually finish within a few hours. That is an estimate, not a guarantee of instant availability everywhere.

What will the domain cost after the first year?
The first-year registration is included when the offer applies; subsequent renewal is not. Hostinger does not establish one renewal price for all domains in the cited guidance, because the rate depends on the extension. Check the exact price and renewal date in the claim flow rather than relying on a general promotional price elsewhere.
The hosting purchase remains a paid commitment. Compare the total amount due at checkout and the billing term—not only a monthly-equivalent figure shown in an offer—with the value of the domain benefit. There is no single best plan for everyone: the right choice depends on whether the exact plan qualifies, whether your preferred name and extension are available, and what that extension costs to renew.

Important claim restrictions
- The included domain is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for a different name, according to Hostinger’s support instructions.
- If the related subscription is refunded, Hostinger may deduct the domain’s cost from the refund; the domain remains usable for the rest of its registration period.
- Entering accurate registrant details and completing verification within 15 days are necessary to keep the domain active.
- Free registration and free transfer are separate offers. If you already own a domain, Hostinger’s transfer offer has its own plan and extension restrictions; do not assume every extension eligible for a new free registration can also be transferred free.
Before you buy: a quick checklist
- Is this a new eligible hosting purchase with a term of at least 12 months?
- Does checkout explicitly show the free-domain benefit for your plan and region?
- Is your exact domain name available with an extension included in your claim flow?
- Have you checked the renewal rate and date, as well as the full hosting checkout total?
- Are you registering a new domain rather than trying to transfer one you already own?
