Yes, with one condition. The computer runs the image model and does all the generation work, while the phone acts as a remote browser for prompts and results. Once the software and model files are on the computer, generation does not need internet service. Phone control does need the two devices to reach each other over a local network, so the setup is offline, but it is not disconnected.
No internet is not the same as no connection
An offline setup means the computer does not call a cloud service to create images. Stability AI lists offline image generation as a benefit of local deployment, and the ComfyUI project states that its core “runs fully offline: core does not download anything unless you request it” (Comfy-Org, ComfyUI repository documentation, accessed 2026).

Phone control is a separate requirement. The phone has to send requests to the computer across some network, even if that network has no route to the internet. A Wi-Fi router with no internet uplink is the simplest version. If you disable every network adapter on the computer, the phone loses access as well.
Finish the downloads while you are still online
Most of the preparation happens before you disconnect. Complete these tasks first:

- Install the image interface you plan to use on the computer.
- Download every model file you intend to use. Some model downloads require network access, and some gated models require accepting a license on the publisher’s page before the download works.
- Install any dependencies the interface lists in its installation documentation.
- Generate one test image on the computer itself. If that fails, fix it while the internet is still available.
- Write down the computer’s local network address (covered in the setup steps below).
Check the computer against the model and image size
Hardware needs depend mostly on the model and the output resolution. InvokeAI’s hardware requirements page gives approximate figures for Windows and Linux systems. These are guidance values, not promises of speed or compatibility, and InvokeAI notes that requirements vary significantly by model.

Stability AI also describes Automatic1111 as a widely used traditional web interface. None of the official sources gives a controlled speed or image-quality comparison between these interfaces, so choose on workflow preference and hardware fit, not on claimed performance.

Place model files in the folders the interface expects. Check the model-folder section of the interface documentation, because the folder names differ between tools.

Start the interface and generate one image on the computer. The expected result is a saved image file and no download prompts during generation.

Allow other devices to connect, if the interface requires it. Many local servers listen only on the computer itself by default. ComfyUI’s launch options include a setting that makes the interface reachable from other devices on the network. Check its current documentation for the exact option, and confirm that the port is open in the firewall.

Disconnect the computer from the internet. Keep the local network connection active. Confirm that generation still works on the computer.

Open the interface on the phone. Join the same network, then open the address in the phone’s browser, for example
http://<computer-ip>:8188for ComfyUI. The port number comes from NVIDIA’s ComfyUI tutorial. The phone-side step is the expected browser route, not a phone-specific procedure from the official documentation.Best Value

Keep the local connection protected
- Use the phone only on a network you trust. Anyone on the same network may be able to reach an interface that accepts connections from other devices.
- Limit inbound access with the computer’s firewall. Allow the interface’s port on private networks only.
- Do not forward the port through your router or expose the interface to the public internet. Stability AI recommends protecting endpoints with a firewall or VPN.
- Follow the license and ethical-use terms for each model you install.
When the phone cannot reach the computer
