Generate a Path of Titans server token from the official Alderon Games hosting-token page. Sign in with an Alderon Games account that owns or can access Path of Titans, select Generate New Token, copy the token immediately, then place it in your hosting panel or server startup configuration and restart the server.
The token is a credential, not a server name or password you invent yourself. It can be used by both the file-downloading tool and the dedicated server, and generating a replacement revokes older tokens.

What the Path of Titans server token does
A Path of Titans dedicated server must authenticate with the Alderon Games Platform. The credential issued through Alderon Games is commonly called the hosting token or auth token. The same account does not have to be an administrator account: the official hosting documentation says the account may be any Alderon Games account with access to the game.

A hosting panel usually hides those command-line details behind an Auth Token field. In either setup, the value comes from Alderon Games rather than from the hosting company.
Before you generate a token
Use an account with game access
Have the Alderon Games account credentials ready. The account used at the hosting-token page must own Path of Titans or otherwise have access to it. If the page redirects you to sign in, that is the expected authentication flow.
Plan where the value will be stored
Decide whether you will enter the token in a managed-hosting control panel or in files and environment settings on your own machine. Stop the dedicated server before changing its startup configuration. Editing a live command line can leave the running process on the old credential while the saved configuration contains a different one.

The token is a long JSON Web Token and should be handled like a password. Keep it in a protected password manager or secret store, restrict access to the server account that needs it, and make sure logs and screenshots cannot reveal it.
Generate the token in Alderon Games
- Open https://alderongames.com/oauth/hosting-token.
- Sign in with the Alderon Games account that owns or can access Path of Titans.
- On the hosting-token page, choose Generate New Token.
- Copy the displayed value immediately and save it in your protected credential storage.
- Do not close or refresh the page until you have confirmed that the copy operation completed.
Alderon’s community-server documentation warns that the page will not display the same token a second time after you leave or refresh it. If you lose the value, you cannot reveal it later from that page; generate another token instead.

Lets update and startup commands read the credential without placing the full value directly in each command |
Use the exact capitalization and punctuation shown by the command or panel. A token copied into the update command but omitted from the runtime command can allow an update to succeed while the server itself fails authentication, and the reverse can also happen.
Using a managed hosting panel
- Stop the Path of Titans server from the panel.
- Open the server’s startup, launch, or game-configuration settings.
- Find the field labeled Auth Token (the precise menu name can vary by provider).
- Paste the complete token without adding quotation marks, spaces, or line breaks unless the panel specifically instructs you to quote it.
- Save or apply the configuration.
- Start the server again and check the panel’s console for a successful launch.
Do not paste the token into a public description, MOTD, support ticket visible to other customers, or a panel field intended for a server name. If the panel has separate update and startup settings, enter the credential wherever the provider exposes both functions.

Self-hosting on Windows
Authenticate file downloads and updates
The Hosting Wiki documents --auth-token as required when AlderonGamesCmd downloads or updates Path of Titans server files. A typical Windows update command is:
AlderonGamesCmd-Win64.exe --game path-of-titans --server true --beta-branch production --auth-token %AG_AUTH_TOKEN% --install-dir C:Server1In this example, %AG_AUTH_TOKEN% is an environment-variable reference. Replace the installation directory with your actual path and configure the variable securely before running the command. Do not replace it with a token copied from an example.

Authenticate the dedicated-server process
The server executable requires -AuthToken. A typical Windows start command is:
PathOfTitansServer-Win64-Shipping.exe -Port=7777 -BranchKey=production -AuthToken=%AG_AUTH_TOKEN% -ServerGUID=<your-guid> -Database=LocalReplace <your-guid> with the GUID assigned to your installation. The literal placeholder is not a working server identifier. Keep the token reference intact if your environment variable is named AG_AUTH_TOKEN; if you choose a different variable name, change the reference consistently in every script and service definition.
Why an environment variable helps
The Hosting Wiki describes the token as a long JSON Web Token and notes that Windows command lines have a 1024-character limit. Keeping the value in AG_AUTH_TOKEN avoids putting the entire credential directly into every command line and reduces the chance of a truncated argument. It does not make the secret public-safe: users and services that can read the environment may still be able to access it.
Using macOS or Linux command-line tooling
Alderon’s hosting tooling documentation covers Windows, Mac, and Linux command-line use. The authentication options remain --auth-token for AlderonGamesCmd, -AuthToken for PathOfTitansServer, and AG_AUTH_TOKEN as an environment-variable alternative. Shell syntax for setting or expanding an environment variable differs between operating systems, so use the syntax native to the shell that launches your service.
For a direct-token test, supply the generated value to the appropriate option exactly once, then remove it from shell history and scripts that are readable by other users. For a permanent service, place AG_AUTH_TOKEN in the service manager’s protected environment configuration rather than in a publicly readable startup file.

Restart and verify the server
- Confirm the old server process is fully stopped.
- Save the new panel value, batch file, service definition, or environment setting.
- Run the update command if the installation needs new or changed server files.
- Start the dedicated server with its runtime authentication option.
- Review the startup output for authentication or token-format errors.
- Connect with a client only after the process remains running and finishes its normal startup sequence.
A restart is required because changing a saved setting does not retroactively change the credential held by an already-running process.

The page sends me to a login screen
The hosting-token endpoint redirects unauthenticated visitors to Alderon Games sign-in. Complete that login with an account that owns or can access Path of Titans. If a browser is signed into the wrong Alderon account, sign out and repeat the process with the account that has game access.
The token disappeared after I refreshed
This is expected behavior. The generated value is not displayed again after leaving or refreshing the page. Generate a replacement and copy it before navigating away.
The update command works but the server will not start
Check that the runtime command includes -AuthToken and that it reads the same current value used by AlderonGamesCmd. A panel may have separate update and launch settings; both must contain the current credential.
The server update fails authentication
Check for the --auth-token option in the AlderonGamesCmd invocation. Verify that the environment-variable name expands to a value and that no line break or accidental quotation mark was copied into it.
A replacement token broke another server
Generating a new token revokes older tokens. Every server, updater, scheduled task, and hosting panel that used the previous value must be updated to the replacement before it can authenticate again.
The token was posted publicly
Assume it is compromised. Generate a new token immediately, replace the value on every dependent server, updater, and panel, and remove the exposed copy from screenshots, logs, tickets, or forum posts where possible. Do not continue using a token that has been published.
The command appears too long or is truncated on Windows
Use AG_AUTH_TOKEN and reference it from the command instead of embedding the long JWT directly. Confirm that the service or batch-file environment actually defines the variable before launching either command.

There is no universal performance or price result established by the token documentation. Choose based on how much control you need over files and services versus how much setup and maintenance you want the host to handle.
Security checklist
- Use only the official Alderon Games hosting-token page to generate the credential.
- Copy it immediately; do not expect the page to reveal it again.
- Store it as a secret and limit file, panel, and environment-variable permissions.
- Redact it from console output, screenshots, backups, and support messages.
- Use
AG_AUTH_TOKENwhere a long inline Windows command would be unsafe or exceed command-line limits. - After generating a replacement, update every server and updater that used the old token.
- Restart the server after saving the new configuration.
Bottom line
Open the Alderon Games hosting-token page, sign in with a Path of Titans-enabled account, generate and copy the token before leaving the page, then provide it to the updater and server through the correct field or option. Treat it as a password: replacing it revokes older tokens, so update all dependent installations and restart them.
