Microsoft PC Manager brings together cleanup options, large-file management and a route to Windows Storage Sense. Use it to find cleanup choices, but review what will be removed before confirming. For a one-time, category-by-category cleanup, Windows Disk Cleanup gives direct control; Storage Sense can automate selected cleanup. None of these tools has a guaranteed amount of space to recover.
How do I clean up disk space with PC Manager?

Use large-file management to identify personal files that may be worth moving or deleting. Check each file and its location before taking action; a large file is not necessarily disposable.

If you want Windows to identify temporary files or configure automated cleanup, open the Storage Sense settings from PC Manager if that route is available, or use Windows Settings to find Storage Sense. Exact menu wording may differ between Windows versions.

For a one-time cleanup with visible file categories, use Disk Cleanup instead. Its selections and descriptions let you inspect the proposed removals before you confirm them.
How to use Disk Cleanup safely

Type
disk cleanupin taskbar search and open the Disk Cleanup app. -
Choose the drive to review, then wait for Windows to calculate the categories it can offer.

Read the descriptions and inspect every selected checkbox. Some categories may be selected by default, so do not confirm without checking what is included.

Select Clean up system files if you want Windows to scan for additional system-file categories. Review the new list and selections before confirming deletion.

Confirm only when you understand the categories selected. If you are unsure what a category contains, leave it unchecked until you have checked its description and effect.

Disk Cleanup is a category-based, user-directed option. It does not require you to guess which unfamiliar folders to delete manually.

What Storage Sense can remove—and what to check first
Storage Sense can automatically remove selected temporary files and items in the Recycle Bin. Review its settings before enabling a schedule: the selected file types and timing determine what Windows manages. Settings can also be affected by administrative policy, so the behavior on a work- or school-managed PC may be controlled by an administrator. Microsoft’s Storage Sense guidance and Storage policy documentation describe its options and policy controls.
For cloud-backed files, items marked Always keep on this device are exempt from Storage Sense management. Check the status of files you need available locally before changing storage settings.

Review large personal files and decide whether to delete them or move them to another storage location. Do not remove unfamiliar system folders by hand.

Consider external storage, such as a USB drive or SD card, for personal files you want to keep but do not need on the PC’s internal drive. Microsoft lists external storage as an option for low-space situations. Microsoft’s low-disk-space guidance
External storage holds files moved off the PC; it does not increase the internal drive’s capacity.
What cleanup can and cannot promise
The available Microsoft documentation does not establish a typical number of gigabytes that PC Manager or Windows cleanup tools will recover, or show that cleanup produces a general performance improvement. Results depend on the files present and the categories selected. Choose a tool based on the cleanup control or automation you need, not on a promised space or speed gain.
