These controllers do not use the same repair method. The DualSense Edge has user-replaceable stick modules; Microsoft’s published Xbox Elite Series 2 guidance covers internal disassembly and reassembly. Confirm the exact model before buying parts or following a repair procedure.

Try Sony’s reset guidance first

Replace the stick module if it is faulty
PlayStation support says: “If a stick module doesn’t work properly or stops working, you can replace it with a new stick module (sold separately).” Sony says the left and right modules are interchangeable. Use a replacement module made for the DualSense Edge; check local availability before ordering. The official PlayStation product page identifies the part, but availability varies by region.

- Turn off the controller and disconnect its USB cable.
- Use the rear RELEASE latch to remove the front cover.
- Raise the release lever and remove the existing stick module.
- Slide the replacement module into the grooves until it clicks into place.
- Lower the lever and reattach the front cover.
Follow Sony’s stick-module replacement instructions for the complete procedure and precautions. This swap uses the controller’s release mechanism; it does not require opening the shell.
Fix stick drift on an Xbox Elite Series 2
Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 safety and repair guide covers internal component disassembly and reassembly. This is a more involved route than swapping a DualSense Edge module, and the guide calls out electrostatic-discharge precautions and tools such as an anti-static wrist strap, an ESD-safe mat, a plastic pry tool and applicable Torx drivers.

Before opening the controller, check Microsoft service options and any warranty eligibility that applies to your device and region. If you are not comfortable working with internal electronics and following model-specific safety steps, use a manufacturer repair or service route instead. Microsoft warns that improper tools or incompatible or modified parts can cause injury or damage.

The existence of a repair guide does not establish that a particular part replacement or cleaning method will fix every drift complaint. The available guidance also does not establish an Xbox-specific consumer troubleshooting or calibration sequence, so do not assume that an Edge reset or module-swap procedure applies to the Elite Series 2.
