Fix common Spotify student verification errors
-
Retry in a private browser window
Open Spotify’s verification flow in an incognito or private window and submit it again. Spotify recommends this to prevent saved browser information from filling the form with outdated or incorrect details. Start from the Premium Student verification troubleshooting page.

Check your details against school records
Enter your name and other requested information as they appear on official school documents. Your student email address does not have to be registered to your Spotify account, according to Spotify’s Premium Student help page.
-
Submit current official proof if asked
If SheerID requests documents, provide official proof that shows your first and last name, college or university, and an issue date from the current academic term or within the last three months. Spotify lists an official enrollment letter, current class schedule, registration or tuition receipt, and a transcript showing classes in progress as examples. An acceptance letter is not accepted. Follow the document instructions in your verification flow; SheerID’s Student FAQ explains its verification process.

Check whether you meet the offer requirements
Spotify says eligible college or university students can use Premium Student for up to four years, with eligibility renewal and reverification every 12 months. If your school is not listed in the verification form, Spotify says you are not eligible for that offer at that time; changing browsers or submitting a generic document will not add an unlisted institution.
Eligibility depends on your location. Spotify’s Premium Subscription Terms for the US limit that offer to students at US Title IV-accredited higher-education institutions who meet its additional requirements. Those US terms should not be treated as global rules. Check the offer and verification form for your country.

If you are studying abroad, Spotify says your account country or region must match where you study, and your payment method must be issued there.
