What Roblox Error Code 267 Means
Error Code 267 is commonly tied to connectivity issues between your device and Roblox matchmaking/game servers. In practice, it often appears after VPN/proxy use, restrictive firewall or antivirus settings, DNS problems, corrupted Roblox cache data, or network equipment (router/ISP) interference.

Because Roblox relies on secure network connections, anything that breaks HTTPS/TLS handshakes, blocks Roblox domains, or prevents stable outbound connections can trigger Error 267. The “server not reachable” feel is why network tests and cache resets are usually effective.
What You Need Before You Start
- Your Roblox login working (no need to change the password yet).
- Access to your device settings (network, firewall, time/date).
- Basic admin rights on your PC if you’ll reset network settings.
- If possible, a phone hotspot for an A/B test (Wi‑Fi vs cellular).
Write down the exact error text and when it started. For example, it often begins after installing a VPN, changing DNS, or updating Windows/macOS.
8 Tested Methods to Fix Roblox Error Code 267
1) Reboot your router and do a hotspot test
Power-cycle the router: unplug for 30 seconds, then plug back in and wait 2–3 minutes for it to fully come online. Then test Roblox using a phone hotspot; if Error 267 disappears, the issue is almost certainly your Wi‑Fi/router path or ISP routing.

Turn off any VPN/proxy apps and browser privacy features that block trackers or modify connections. If you use Windows “Proxy” settings, set it to Off, then fully close and reopen Roblox (don’t just switch tabs).
3) Clear Roblox cache (web) and Roblox app cache (where applicable)
On browsers, clear site data for roblox.com and restart the browser. On Windows, clearing Roblox local cache typically helps when the client is stuck with stale networking tokens or corrupted download remnants.
4) Change DNS to a known public resolver
Switch DNS to a reliable public service (commonly 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8). DNS issues can cause Roblox lookups to fail or resolve to problematic paths, which often shows up as Error 267 during joins.
5) Allow Roblox in Windows Firewall and your antivirus
Temporarily test with antivirus “web protection” off, or add RobloxPlayerBeta.exe/RobloxPlayer.exe and Roblox services as allowed exceptions. If you’re on a work/school network, you may need your administrator to permit outbound Roblox traffic.

6) Reset Windows network stack (Winsock + IP) on Windows PCs
If Error 267 appears repeatedly on the same machine, reset the network stack. This clears corrupted socket bindings that can break outbound connections even when internet works in browsers.
7) Reinstall or update Roblox Player
Update Roblox if you’re using the Microsoft Store version, or reinstall the Roblox Player if you’re using a standalone install. A broken or partially updated client can fail to negotiate connections, resulting in Error 267.
8) Fix system date/time and re-test
Incorrect system time can break TLS certificate validation. Turn on automatic time sync in Windows/macOS, then restart the device and try joining Roblox again.
Platform-Specific Fixes
Roblox’s core error is network-related, but the quickest steps vary by platform. Use the section that matches your device; keep your device on the same Wi‑Fi during each test to isolate what changed.
Recommended Free Tools
Windows (Roblox Player via Microsoft Store or browser)
If you’re on Windows, start with cache and network checks, then escalate to firewall and Winsock reset.
- Reopen completely: close Roblox (including background processes), then relaunch.
- Check Proxy: Settings > Network & internet > Proxy > set Use a proxy to Off.
- DNS change test: Settings > Network & internet > Wi‑Fi > (your network) > Edit > DNS settings > Manual > set Preferred DNS to 1.1.1.1 and Alternate to 8.8.8.8.
- Firewall allow: Windows Security > Firewall & network protection > Allow an app through firewall > make sure Roblox is allowed for Private and Public (or at least the active network profile).
- Winsock/IP reset (advanced): open Command Prompt as Administrator and run the commands below in order, then reboot.
netsh winsock resetnetsh int ip resetipconfig /flushdns
- Reinstall: Apps > Installed apps > Roblox > Uninstall, then install again (or update in Microsoft Store).
If Error 267 changes to a different code after a method, that’s a clue—stop repeating the previous steps and move to the next likely cause (DNS, firewall, or client install).
macOS (Roblox Player on macOS)
macOS fixes focus on DNS changes, network services, and clearing browser data (if you launched Roblox in a browser).

- Verify date/time: Apple menu > System Settings > General > Date & Time > turn on Set automatically.
- Change DNS: System Settings > Network > (your Wi‑Fi) > Details > DNS > replace existing resolvers with 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8.
- Disable VPN/proxy: disconnect VPNs in macOS Settings, and check any proxy configuration in Network > (service) > Proxy.
- Clear browser site data: in Safari/Chrome, clear cookies and site data for roblox.com, then restart the browser.
- Update/reinstall Roblox Player: if you have a standalone app installed, update it to the latest available version or reinstall if corrupted.
If you use a custom network profile (school/office), try a personal hotspot to confirm the problem isn’t policy-based blocking.
Android and iOS (Roblox app)
On mobile, the most effective moves are network switching, app restart, cache cleanup, and eliminating VPN/proxy conflicts.
- Force restart the app: fully close Roblox, then reopen and sign in again.
- Turn off VPN: disconnect any VPN app and check iOS/macOS or Android connection profiles for proxy settings.
- Switch networks: test on Wi‑Fi, then switch to LTE/5G or a hotspot. If it works on hotspot, your router setup is the issue.
- Clear app cache (Android): Settings > Apps > Roblox > Storage > Clear cache. Don’t just clear data unless you’re comfortable re-signing in.
- Update the app: open the Play Store/App Store and update Roblox to the latest version available for your device.
- Reinstall (if stuck): if Error 267 persists after updates, uninstall and reinstall the Roblox app.
On iOS, “Clear cache” isn’t always available as a button, so restart + network tests + reinstall are usually the practical path.
Xbox consoles
Error 267 can show up on Xbox when the console’s network path blocks Roblox services or when network settings are stale.
- Restart the console: fully power off, then power on (not just sleep mode).
- Check Connection: Settings > Network > Test network connection.
- Disable VPN/proxy: remove any VPN configuration if you use one on the network.
- Set DNS manually (advanced): Settings > Network settings > Advanced settings > DNS > enter 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 (names vary slightly by UI update).
- Power-cycle your router: unplug for 30 seconds and reconnect.
- Reinstall Roblox: manage apps, uninstall Roblox, then reinstall from the Microsoft Store.
If Roblox works on your phone hotspot but not on the home network, you’ll get the fastest resolution by fixing router/ISP routing rather than reinstalling repeatedly.

If you tried the eight methods and the code persists, it’s time to confirm what’s actually failing: Roblox availability, your device’s TLS behavior, or routing through your network.
Check if Roblox is having an outage
Before changing ten settings, confirm whether Roblox services are degraded. Check Roblox status pages or reliable community outage reports, and test from another device on the same network.

If multiple devices show Error 267 at the same time, outage or ISP routing is more likely than a device-specific problem.
Verify your system clock and TLS connectivity
With the clock off by even a few minutes, TLS certificate validation may fail. Keep automatic date/time enabled on Windows/macOS, then re-test Roblox joining.

Try a different network (phone hotspot test)
This is the fastest diagnostic. If Roblox works on hotspot, revert your focus to DNS, firewall, router settings, and ISP restrictions on your home network.
If Roblox still fails on hotspot, the issue may be on the device (client files, system DNS stack, antivirus, or corrupted network configuration).
Router-level changes that often help
Routers with aggressive security features can block Roblox traffic. If you have access to your router settings:
- Temporarily disable “Web filtering,” “Parental controls,” or “security/firewall” features to test.
- If you use DNS filtering (often labeled as “secure DNS”), turn it off for a test.
- Check if IPv6 is causing issues. If you know how, test by toggling IPv6 on/off (keep notes so you can return to your original configuration).
- Update router firmware if it hasn’t been updated for a long time.
Make only one change at a time so you can identify what actually fixed Error 267.
Common Mistakes That Make Error Code 267 Worse
- Clearing cookies but not fully closing the Roblox client. Stale tokens can remain until the app restarts.
- Changing DNS but leaving VPN/proxy enabled. DNS changes won’t help if traffic is routed elsewhere.
- Reinstalling repeatedly while staying on the same broken network path. Reinstalling helps only when the client or local routing is the problem.
- Forgetting time sync after travel, battery swaps, or BIOS/CMOS resets. Bad time can cause persistent TLS errors.
- Ignoring admin permissions when running network resets on Windows. Run Command Prompt as Administrator for commands to take effect.
FAQ
Is Roblox Error Code 267 a ban?
It’s not typically a ban-related error. Error 267 is much more commonly a connectivity problem. If you believe your account is restricted, check Roblox messages and account status, but Error 267 is usually network-first.

Will changing DNS fix Error 267 every time?
No. DNS changes fix a specific class of problems—failed or problematic domain resolution. If the real cause is firewall blocking, cache corruption, or ISP routing, DNS alone won’t solve it.
What DNS should I use for Roblox?
A common tested pair is 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8. If you don’t like those, you can also use other reputable resolvers, but keep the change limited to your testing window.
Does Error 267 happen because of my internet speed?
Not usually. Roblox can run on modest connections, but Error 267 tends to be about whether your device can consistently reach Roblox endpoints. Latency spikes can contribute, but DNS, TLS, and routing are more frequent root causes.

For most local changes (DNS, firewall, cache), try immediately after restarting the app. For router changes, allow 2–5 minutes for settings to propagate, and confirm with a hotspot A/B test if the first result is unclear.
Bottom Line
Roblox Error Code 267 is usually solvable when you treat it like a connection problem: test a different network, remove VPN/proxy interference, fix DNS/firewall behavior, and clear/reinstall when the client is stale or corrupted.
Start with the first three methods and only escalate to firewall/network stack resets if you still get Error 267. If hotspot works but your home Wi‑Fi doesn’t, your router or ISP path is the likely culprit.
