Start with a quick diagnosis
- Identify the connection mode. The Basilisk V4 Pro supports HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth 6.2, and wired mode. Test wired mode if available and note whether the symptom changes.
- Check Synapse settings. Review button mappings for unexpected actions and tracking settings for cursor or lift-off behavior that may have changed.
- Check for firmware updates. Razer recommends keeping the mouse’s firmware current through the Synapse dashboard.

Razer announced the Basilisk V4 Pro on October 8, 2026. Connection problems: isolate the connection mode
The mouse supports HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, Bluetooth 6.2, and wired mode. Determine which one you are using and whether the problem appears in more than one mode. If the mouse works in wired mode but not wirelessly, that narrows the symptom to the wireless connection path; it does not by itself identify the cause.

Bluetooth
Razer says the mouse can pair with up to three Bluetooth devices. If a Bluetooth connection fails, check the exact-model support entry for current pairing and recovery instructions. The available official product information does not establish a V4 Pro-specific re-pairing sequence, so do not apply button combinations or pairing utilities intended for another model.

HyperSpeed Wireless or wired mode
Record whether the issue occurs with HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, wired mode, or both. Razer’s published information confirms these connection options but does not document a V4 Pro receiver-recovery procedure. If basic mode checks do not help, use the current Razer support page to locate guidance for your model and region.
Tracking problems: inspect settings before assuming hardware failure
In Synapse, review the mouse’s sensitivity and tracking-related settings. Razer documents one-DPI-step adjustments, a sensitivity matcher, Smart Tracking, and asymmetric cut-off settings for lift-off and landing distance. A changed sensitivity or lift-off setting could account for a different feel, but the product material does not prescribe a procedure for a cursor that skips or stops.

Understand the lift-off settings
Smart Tracking is described as automatically calibrating lift-off distance across surfaces. Asymmetric cut-off allows separate lift-off and landing distance settings. If the cursor behavior changed after adjusting these options, review their current values in Synapse. The published information does not describe a V4 Pro tracking reset or a surface-specific fault remedy.

If the cursor still stops or skips after you have checked the available settings, consult Razer’s exact-model support materials. The product specifications do not establish that a setting change will resolve a sensor fault, and they are not evidence of a particular repair.

Button problems: verify the active mapping
Before treating an unexpected button action as a hardware failure, inspect its mapping in Synapse. Razer says Synapse can customize button mappings, macros, scroll modes, and Hypershift.
Check the side-button defaults
From left to right, the three side buttons default to AI Prompt Master, Mouse Button 5, and Mouse Button 4. They can be remapped, so the action you see may reflect the active configuration rather than a failed switch.

If a button does not register
Check the mapping and configuration first. If a physical button still fails to register, the published product information does not establish a device-specific repair procedure. Razer recommends checking the Synapse dashboard to keep the mouse on the latest firmware.
