Clubhouse usually shows “Our systems have detected high usage of this feature from your account. Please try again later.” after too many phone-verification code requests in a short period. Stop requesting codes, wait at least 20 minutes from your latest attempt, then retry once with a supported carrier mobile number, a stable connection, and any VPN or proxy disabled. Clubhouse documents this as a verification rate limit, not proof of a permanent ban or a phone-storage problem.
What the Clubhouse warning means
Clubhouse’s official phone-number verification guidance associates this wording with too many verification-code requests from an account in a short period. Clubhouse does not publish the exact number of attempts that triggers the limit.
The message is specifically documented in the phone-verification flow. It should not automatically be interpreted as a general Clubhouse server outage, a permanent account ban, or insufficient device storage. Similar wording shown in an unrelated feature may require separate support investigation.
Other problems can occur at the same time:
- An unsupported VoIP or landline number cannot be used for verification.
- A VPN, proxy, weak connection, carrier filtering, or SMS delay can prevent the code from arriving.
- Huawei devices and devices running a non-native operating system may be unsupported, according to Clubhouse.
The fastest fix
- Stop pressing resend. Do not request another code while the warning is displayed.
- Wait at least 20 minutes. Clubhouse says to wait 20 minutes and try again. Because another request may renew the restriction, count cautiously from your most recent request; this restart-from-the-latest-attempt advice is a practical inference, not a published Clubhouse timer rule.
- Disable traffic-routing services temporarily. Turn off a VPN, proxy, or similar service before retrying. Clubhouse warns that VPN use can make code delivery difficult, but it does not explicitly say a VPN causes the high-usage limit.
- Check the number. Select the correct country, enter the international-format number accurately, use the required number of digits, and avoid an unnecessary leading zero where the country-code format does not require one.
- Use a regular mobile number. Clubhouse says VoIP and landline numbers are not supported. Use a carrier-issued mobile number rather than Google Voice, TextNow, a business VoIP line, or a landline.
- Retry once. Use whichever connection is more reliable: cellular data if Wi-Fi is unstable, or Wi-Fi if cellular reception is poor. Then request one code and wait for delivery instead of repeatedly tapping the button.
If the code still does not arrive
When the high-usage warning has disappeared but no SMS arrives, the remaining problem may be delivery rather than rate limiting. Check that the phone has service, ordinary SMS messages arrive, and the carrier is not filtering short-code or automated texts. Review spam or message-filtering settings and confirm the international number format.

Clubhouse’s guidance does not promise that support can manually send a code; it says Clubhouse cannot force or manually send one. Do not publish your full phone number or any verification code while seeking help.

If another number works on the same phone, that suggests a number- or account-specific issue. If the same number fails on another device, that likewise points away from simple handset storage or installation trouble. These are diagnostic inferences, not Clubhouse-published rules.

Local app fixes that may help later
Force-closing Clubhouse, restarting the phone, switching networks, and installing the current app version can refresh local software. The App Store listing shows ongoing Clubhouse updates at Apple’s Clubhouse listing.
These actions are not the official reset for this warning. A server-side rate limit is not removed merely by changing local app files. On Android, clearing app storage logs you out and removes local settings. On iPhone, there is no universal clear-cache button; offloading or deleting and reinstalling the app is the usual local reset.

Reinstall only after waiting and correcting the number and network conditions. Third-party guides discuss restarting, clearing data, reinstalling, and disabling VPNs, but those suggestions do not establish that a reinstall clears an account-side restriction: Windows Dispatch and Republic World.
Contact Clubhouse support effectively
If the message continues for hours or days after a single, careful retry, escalation is more useful than repeated resends or repeated reinstalls. Include:

- The approximate times of the first and most recent requests.
- Whether a VPN, proxy, VoIP number, Wi-Fi network, or cellular data was involved.
- A screenshot with phone numbers, codes, email addresses, and other sensitive information redacted.
Never send a verification code, password, full phone number, or device identifier in a public forum. If the wording appeared outside login or signup, tell support the exact feature and whether you were requesting a phone code; the published 20-minute guidance is specifically for phone-number verification.
