Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

If it has signal but mobile data will not load, check the selected data SIM, mobile-data settings and carrier configuration. If 4G works but 5G does not appear, confirm that your exact phone variant and carrier service support 5G where you are. Work through the checks below in order, starting with the ones that do not change or erase your data.
First identify what is failing
- No service or “Searching”: Calls and mobile data may both be unavailable. Check whether your carrier has coverage or an outage where you are, then check the SIM and line status.
- Signal is present, but websites or apps will not load: Check that your plan is active, the correct SIM is selected for data, and mobile data is enabled. Then test without Wi-Fi or a VPN.
- Data is weak or intermittent: Try another location. If service changes with location, coverage or local network conditions may be responsible; one poor-signal spot alone does not establish a phone fault.
- 4G/LTE works, but 5G does not appear: Check the exact model and regional variant, local 5G coverage, and whether your carrier has enabled 5G for your plan and SIM.
OPPO notes that settings names and paths vary by model and ColorOS version. Its UK support guidance lists applicability across ColorOS 3 through ColorOS 16; your phone may use different labels.

Check coverage, your plan and the selected SIM
- Move to a place where your carrier normally has service and check whether the signal improves. If possible, test in more than one location.
- Ask your carrier whether there is an outage or coverage issue in the area. The carrier can also confirm that your line is active and has a data plan and available allowance or credit.
- If your OPPO has two SIMs, make sure the line you intend to use is selected for mobile data. Look under a menu such as Settings > Mobile Network, Dual SIM and mobile network, Dual SIM & Cellular or SIM card & mobile data.
Menu names differ across OPPO phones, so treat these as possible labels rather than a universal path.
Refresh the phone’s connection and test mobile data directly
- Turn Airplane mode off and make sure Mobile data is on. Use the phone’s Settings or Quick Settings controls; their placement depends on the ColorOS version.
- Temporarily turn Wi-Fi off so you can tell whether pages are loading over the cellular connection.
- If you use a VPN, disconnect it for the test. A VPN can affect whether apps and sites load even when the phone has cellular signal.
- Toggle Airplane mode or mobile data off and back on, then restart the phone and test again.
Check the SIM
Physical SIM
If you use a physical SIM, switch off the phone before removing it if your device instructions require that. Remove the SIM, check for visible damage, and reinsert it securely. A SIM ejector tool may help open the tray; it cannot fix an outage, inactive line or coverage problem.

If you can, try your SIM in another phone, or try a known-working SIM in the OPPO. These tests can help distinguish a SIM or carrier issue from a problem specific to the handset. Contact your carrier if the SIM is damaged, not activated or may need replacement.
eSIM
For an eSIM, use your carrier’s eSIM support process to check activation and provisioning. Do not delete an eSIM profile as a troubleshooting shortcut unless your carrier tells you how to restore it.

Restore carrier and APN settings
If coverage, the account, the selected data SIM and basic settings all check out, review the selected SIM’s network and Access Point Name (APN) settings. The labels and available controls depend on the phone and carrier.
- In the mobile-network settings for the affected SIM, check the preferred network type. Use automatic selection or a mode supported by your carrier in your location.
- Open the APN settings for that SIM and choose the option to reset APNs to their defaults, if available. Some OPPO models do not show an APN reset because APNs update automatically.
- Set network or carrier selection to automatic if that option is available.
- Retry mobile data. If it still fails, ask your carrier for the correct APN details for your specific SIM and plan rather than entering generic values from an unrelated guide.
If 5G is missing on your OPPO
A 5G label on a phone family or product listing does not by itself establish that every regional variant works with every carrier’s network. Check the full model number and region of your handset against your carrier’s compatibility information, and ask the carrier whether your plan and SIM are enabled for its 5G service.

- Verify with the carrier that the line, plan and SIM are eligible for its 5G service.
- Check the preferred network setting and use automatic selection or a supported mode where available.
5G availability also depends on the network operating where you are. OPPO describes Non-Standalone (NSA) 5G as using existing 4G core infrastructure, while Standalone (SA) 5G relies on 5G infrastructure. A 5G icon, speed or connection is therefore not guaranteed simply by changing a setting. A phone without 5G hardware support cannot be made 5G-capable through software settings.
Voice over New Radio (VoNR) is about voice calling over 5G. If your specific problem is 5G voice calling, ask your carrier about VoNR support and activation; it is separate from ordinary mobile-data troubleshooting.

Update the phone, then escalate to the right support team
- Check for and install an available official system update, then retest the connection.
- If the problem remains, contact your carrier and ask it to check local coverage or outages, account status and allowance, SIM activation, network provisioning and carrier-specific APN details.
- If the carrier and SIM checks do not explain the problem, contact OPPO Support or an OPPO service center, particularly if the issue appears limited to this handset.
These checks prioritize reversible steps and support escalation; a factory reset is not an early troubleshooting step in OPPO’s guidance.
