If Microsoft Edge will not print a page or PDF in Windows 11, first test another page in Edge and then print from another Windows app. Those two checks show whether the fault is tied to one document, Edge, or Windows and the printer. Follow the matching branch below rather than changing several settings at once.
First, identify where printing fails
Use the same printer and relevant print settings for each test. In Edge, open a different website or online document, press Ctrl+P or select Settings and more > Print, and try printing. Then try printing from Word or another Windows application.

Microsoft identifies a damaged page or document, Edge, the printer driver, Windows, and printer connectivity or hardware as possible sources of printing problems. A single symptom such as nothing happening does not identify which one is responsible. Microsoft’s Edge print troubleshooting guidance recommends comparing pages and applications to narrow the cause.

If only one page or PDF will not print
When another Edge page prints on the same printer, focus on the original content rather than making broad Windows changes. A particular page or document may have a problem with its content, graphics, fonts, code, or print styling.

- Retry printing the affected page or PDF.
- If the page supports Immersive Reader, open it and print the simplified version. Immersive Reader is not available on every website.
- If other documents continue to print, treat the problem as specific to that page or file unless another test points elsewhere.
If Edge print preview fails
For the Edge message “Print preview failed,” cancel the current attempt and try again. Confirm that the intended printer is selected and available; if another printer is listed, select it as a test. If the preview still fails, close and restart Edge, then retry.
Microsoft notes that Edge cannot show print preview when its built-in PDF viewer is missing. Its published troubleshooting guidance does not provide a separate PDF-viewer reinstall procedure, so do not rely on an unverified reinstall fix. If other Windows apps cannot print either
If Word or another application also fails, repeated changes to Edge are unlikely to address the underlying problem. Check that the printer is powered on, connected, installed, and available to Windows. On Windows 11, begin with the automated printer troubleshooter in the Get Help app, following Microsoft’s Windows printer troubleshooting guidance.
Check the printer driver
Install an appropriate current driver for the exact printer model. Microsoft recommends Windows Update to obtain or update printer drivers; its printer driver instructions explain the options. You can also consult the printer manufacturer’s support page for your model.

On some ARM-based PCs, manufacturer driver installers may not work as expected. Microsoft advises using Windows’ Add device flow unless the manufacturer provides specific instructions for ARM devices.
Check the print queue or spooler only when indicated
If jobs are stuck in the queue or the Print Spooler appears to be blocking output, Microsoft’s Windows troubleshooting steps include stopping the Print Spooler service, deleting files in %WINDIR%system32spoolPRINTERS, and starting the service again. Use this procedure only when the symptoms point to a queue or spooler problem; it is not a first step for a preview error isolated to Edge. If Edge alone fails but other apps print
Cancel and retry Edge’s print command, reselect the printer, and restart Edge. Since other apps can print, the problem may be Edge-specific, but a driver can affect Edge differently from other applications. Check for a current driver through Windows Update or the manufacturer’s support page before concluding that Edge itself is the cause.
Microsoft documents the basic print path as Settings and more > Print; Ctrl+P is another way to open it. Its guidance does not establish that a particular current Edge release, Windows build, printer model, or driver is defective. Interface labels can vary with the installed software version.
