Start by checking whether the audio is out of sync on one channel or across all content. If it affects all sources, try the TV’s Bypass setting; if that does not help, turn Bypass off and adjust the available audio delay. The menu path depends on your LG OLED’s webOS version, and soundbars may need a separate adjustment.
First, find out where the sync problem occurs
Test more than one channel or source, such as a different broadcast channel and a streaming app. If only one channel is affected, LG says the broadcast signal may be responsible; contact the broadcaster, TV service provider, or set-top-box provider. If the mismatch appears across channels or sources, continue with the TV and audio-device settings.

Adjust lip sync on the TV
LG TVs running webOS 6.0 or later
- Open Settings > All Settings > Sound > Advanced Settings > Match Screen and Sound.
- Turn on Bypass and check whether speech now matches the picture.
- If the mismatch remains, turn Bypass off, then adjust TV Speaker Delay while checking speech against the moving lips.
LG says that on supported TVs, a TV Speaker Delay value closer to 60 makes voice output slower. Its guidance does not give a universal conversion from a setting value to milliseconds, so make small adjustments and judge the result by listening and watching.
LG TVs running webOS 5.0 or earlier
- Open Settings > All Settings > Sound > Additional Settings > AV Sync Adjustment.
- Try Bypass first and check the result.
- If the problem persists, turn Bypass off and adjust the delay control shown on your TV.
Control names and available options can vary by model. If the labels on your set differ or the setting is unclear, check the manual for your exact model. LG’s instructions cover these menu paths for the corresponding webOS generations. LG’s sync troubleshooting guide and LG’s TV sync guidance.

If you use a soundbar or external speaker
Test the TV speakers and the external audio device separately. This helps distinguish a TV setting issue from a delay introduced by the soundbar or its connection. LG notes that digital audio output set to Auto can delay an external speaker relative to the TV speakers. Playing through both at once can also create an echo or make the sound seem out of sync.
- If simultaneous TV and soundbar playback echoes, select just one speaker output.
- If the soundbar alone is out of sync, try its AV Sync control. LG also points to the LG Soundbar app for making a slight soundbar-delay adjustment.
- For the TV’s Match Screen and Sound feature, LG specifies TV speakers or supported Sound Share devices connected through HDMI ARC/eARC. Feature support depends on the TV model and connection.
For an ARC/eARC setup, LG’s connection instructions show the soundbar’s TV eARC/ARC output connected to the TV’s HDMI input. Confirm the ports and supported connection for your model before changing cables or settings. LG’s picture-and-sound sync instructions and LG’s soundbar connection guide.

What to try if the delay control does not fix it
- Recheck a second channel or source. A problem limited to one channel may need attention from the broadcaster or service provider rather than a TV adjustment.
- Confirm that Bypass is off before adjusting the delay control.
- When a soundbar is involved, test it separately from the TV speakers and use the soundbar’s own sync control if needed.
- Check the manual for the exact TV model if a menu item is missing or named differently. LG’s available instructions are model- and connection-dependent.
