If Gran Turismo 7 reports a server or connection error, first check PlayStation Network and Gran Turismo service notices. If maintenance or an outage is listed, wait and try again when service returns; changing your Wi-Fi settings will not fix a service-side problem. If status appears normal, test the console’s connection and work through the local network checks below.
1. Record the exact error and check service status
Write down the full message and any error code before changing settings. PlayStation lists messages such as “Unable to connect to the server” and “This service is currently under maintenance” in its error-code index. These labels do not by themselves identify whether the cause is GT7, PSN, or your home network.

Check PlayStation Network status and Gran Turismo’s official service and maintenance notices. If either reports a relevant outage or maintenance, wait for service to return, then restart GT7 and retry. Status can change, so check it when the error occurs rather than relying on an earlier report.

- Open the console’s Network settings and run its internet connection test.
- Check whether the console connects to the internet and PlayStation Network. If the test fails, address that connection problem before treating the error as GT7-specific.
- Close and restart GT7, then restart the console and try again.
- If the screen shows a specific PlayStation error code, look up that exact code in the PlayStation error-code index and follow its matching support instructions. Do not assume that different codes have the same cause or fix.
If other online services work but GT7 does not, that can help narrow the investigation, but it does not prove that GT7’s servers are at fault.

3. Try Ethernet or improve the Wi-Fi connection
Gran Turismo supports both Wi-Fi and wired connections on PS5 and PS4, but recommends wired networking for a more stable environment in its Tips for a Better Online Experience.

| Ethernet | Connect the console to the router with an Ethernet cable if one can reach. It is Gran Turismo’s preferred option for a more stable environment; it will not fix maintenance, a PSN sign-in issue, or every connection error. |
| Wi-Fi | Wi-Fi is supported. If you cannot use a cable, move the console closer to the router and remove obstructions between them, as PlayStation advises for wireless connection problems. |
After changing the connection or console placement, run the console connection test again and retry GT7. Changing one thing at a time makes it easier to identify whether the connection improved.

4. Restart the modem or router, then check for firmware updates
For the specific PS5 network error NW-102650-4, PlayStation’s support instructions say to turn off the modem or router, wait at least five minutes, and restart it. The same guidance recommends checking for router firmware updates. Follow your router manufacturer’s instructions for any update.

If restarting and updating do not help, PlayStation lists advanced options for that error, including port settings, a manual static IP address, and temporarily changing DNS. These are not GT7-specific port prescriptions. Before changing them, consult your internet provider or router manufacturer; avoid jumping to a factory reset or DMZ configuration without a diagnosed need.

5. Check NAT when the problem is specific to lobbies
If you can connect generally but have trouble joining or maintaining a multiplayer lobby, NAT type and internet connection quality may be relevant. Gran Turismo says these affect the lobby environment and are displayed in Room Settings when creating a Lobby room in its online guidance.
This is a reason to investigate the network when failures are lobby-specific, not a rule that every player must use a particular NAT type. The official guidance does not establish that forcing NAT Type 1 or placing a console in a DMZ is necessary.
6. Escalate with details that help identify the fault
If the error continues after these checks, contact PlayStation Support for a console or PSN error, your internet provider for a connection problem, or Gran Turismo support for a game-service issue. Include:
