Start in Galaxy Store: update Good Lock and the affected module, then verify that your Galaxy model, region and Android/One UI version support it. A missing module, a failed download and an installed feature that does nothing are different problems, so the right fix depends on where the failure occurs.
Use the steps below to identify the symptom, check compatibility and apply any module-specific guidance. Samsung’s own documentation warns that available features and settings can vary by software version and phone model.

Identify exactly what is failing
Good Lock is a Samsung app, and its modules are distributed through Galaxy Store. Before changing settings, classify the problem. The same symptom—“Good Lock does not work”—can mean several different things.
| Symptom | What it usually indicates | First check |
|---|---|---|
| Good Lock does not appear in Galaxy Store | The app may not be available for the device or region, or the store may not be showing the current listing. | Search Galaxy Store while signed in and note the phone model, country or region and One UI version. |
| A module is absent from Good Lock | The module may not yet be released for that model, software version or region. | Search for the module separately in Galaxy Store and check Samsung’s current support information. |
| A module will not download or update | The Good Lock app or the separate module package may be out of date, or a compatibility update may still be pending. | Check Galaxy Store for updates to both Good Lock and the affected module. |
| A module is installed but its feature does nothing | The module may not support the current One UI release, or the feature may have a module-specific requirement. | Record the module version and look for instructions for that exact feature. |
Write down the exact model name, country or region, Android version, One UI version, module name and module version. Also note whether the phone is running a beta build. These details determine whether a module is available and whether a recent software change is responsible.

Make a quick pre-checklist
- Take a screenshot of the Good Lock home screen and any Galaxy Store error.
- Note when the problem began: after a Good Lock update, a module update, a major One UI update or enrollment in a beta.
- Test whether the issue affects one module or several. One affected module suggests a narrower compatibility issue; several affected modules point to the Good Lock, store or software-release state.
- Record whether the module is missing entirely, listed but unavailable, stuck during download, or installed but missing a setting.
This record prevents a common diagnostic error: describing an availability problem as an installation problem. It also gives Samsung support the information needed to check the correct release channel.
Install or update Good Lock through Galaxy Store
Samsung’s installation guide directs users to Galaxy Store rather than a separate installer. Use the official listing for the phone’s current software environment.
- Open Galaxy Store on the Galaxy phone or tablet.
- Search for Good Lock.
- Open the Good Lock listing. If the button says Install, install the app. If it says Update, apply the update.
- Open Galaxy Store again and search for the affected module by its exact name. Good Lock and its modules can be released separately, so updating the main app does not necessarily update every module.
- Install or update the module from its own Galaxy Store listing when an update is offered.
The Good Lock Galaxy Store listing (version 3.0.16.6, dated July 14, 2026) includes release notes describing fixes for plugin installation and update problems. That makes checking both listings the appropriate first action, but it does not establish that one particular release fixes every module or device.

Continue with the compatibility checks below; an unavailable listing can be a support or regional issue.
Understand what each store button means
| Store result | Reasonable interpretation | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Install | The package is offered for the current store account and device. | Install, then search for the module separately. |
| Update | A newer package is available for that configuration. | Update Good Lock and the affected module, then retest. |
| Open, with no update | The store considers the installed package current, or a newer compatible build is not yet offered. | Compare the installed version with the module’s listing and check compatibility guidance. |
| No result or unavailable | The listing may be restricted by model, software version or region. | Check support variables before attempting another installation method. |
Good Lock is a container for modules, not a guarantee that every module is delivered at the same time. A current Good Lock installation can coexist with an older module while Samsung completes a separate compatibility release.
Check model, One UI version and region support
Samsung’s Good Lock guide states: “Available feature and settings may vary by software version and phone model.” The store listing likewise cautions that some devices may not be supported. A module that works on one Galaxy can therefore be absent or limited on another.
Record the software state
- Open the phone’s software information and record the exact Android and One UI versions.
- Record the model identifier, not just the marketing name. Different variants of a Galaxy model can receive software at different times.
- Record the country or region in which the device is being used and the region associated with Galaxy Store.
- Mark whether the phone is enrolled in a beta or preview program.
Compare those details with the affected module’s Galaxy Store listing and Samsung support guidance. Avoid treating a module as universally supported across the Galaxy range; Samsung does not make that promise.

Why a major One UI update can break a module temporarily
Good Lock modules must be adapted to changes in One UI. Samsung community staff have explained that modules can be unavailable or nonfunctional during beta periods while compatibility work is in progress. A similar delay can occur immediately after a major stable release. Temporary incompatibility is not evidence of hardware failure.
The December 2024 Samsung community discussion about Good Lock problems on a One UI 7 beta is a historical example of this limitation. It should not be read as a current list of unsupported phones; it demonstrates why a beta build needs to be reported when asking for help. A May 2026 One UI Beta Team discussion likewise addressed Good Lock apps that did not work during beta compatibility work.
Stable release versus beta build
| Software state | What it changes | How to report it |
|---|---|---|
| Stable One UI release | Modules may still need an update after a major platform change, but the support target is the public release. | Give the full One UI and Android version and the date the update was installed. |
| Beta or preview | Module support can lag while Samsung and Good Lock developers adapt to unfinished platform changes. | State that the device is on beta software and include the beta build identifier if shown. |
Do not infer from another user’s Galaxy that your module should be available. Different model variants, regions and software channels can receive the same One UI generation at different times.
When a module is missing from Good Lock or Galaxy Store
Missing modules require an availability check, not repeated reinstalls. Samsung’s response to a question about RegiStar explained that modules can be released gradually and that availability depends on device model, One UI version and regional support.
- Search the module’s exact name inside Good Lock.
- Search the same name directly in Galaxy Store. A module may have its own listing even when it is not currently shown in the Good Lock catalog.
- Check the phone’s model, One UI version and region against Samsung’s current support information.
- If the module is announced for the device but still absent, check Galaxy Store again after Samsung publishes a compatible release.
- Contact Samsung support if the listing should be available for that setup and the store still does not offer it. Include the model, region, One UI version and the module name.
Do not treat a missing module as proof that the phone has a fault. Do not rely on changing the region as a general remedy, and do not sideload an APK as a workaround. Samsung community guidance says manual installation will not activate a feature that is restricted by region or otherwise unavailable for the device.
Missing in Good Lock but visible in Galaxy Store
If the direct Galaxy Store search shows the module while Good Lock does not, compare the module name and open the official listing from the store. The two catalogs do not prove identical availability at every moment. If Galaxy Store also withholds installation, treat the case as a support or release-channel issue rather than an interface glitch.
Missing in both places
When neither search returns an installable listing, repeated searches and reinstalls are unlikely to change device, software or regional eligibility. Save the search result, verify the model and One UI details, and ask Samsung whether the module has been released for that configuration. The February 2026 Samsung Members response about RegiStar specifically described gradual release and dependence on model, One UI version and region.

When a module will not install or update
Separate the Good Lock package from the module package in your diagnosis. Both can have their own releases and compatibility requirements.
Use the store listing for each package
- Open Galaxy Store and check Good Lock for an available update.
- Search for the affected module and check its listing separately.
- Read the listing’s current version and release notes. Note whether the update mentions plugin installation, update reliability or compatibility.
- After applying an update, open Good Lock and test only the affected module first. This confirms whether the change addressed the original failure.
If the store offers neither an installation nor an update, return to the model, software and region checks. The absence of a button can indicate that Samsung has not released a compatible build for that configuration.
Capture the failure details
For a failed download, record the exact message, the point at which it stops and whether the failure affects one module or every module. A single-module failure points toward that module’s release or compatibility state; a Good Lock-wide failure warrants reporting the Good Lock version and Galaxy Store listing status.
The available Samsung material does not establish clearing cache, rebooting, uninstalling or changing region as universal fixes. Those actions should not replace the store, version and compatibility checks, and they should not be presented as guaranteed solutions.
Do not confuse an update delay with a failed update
A module can remain on its previous version while a compatible build is still being prepared. This is especially plausible during a beta or immediately after a major One UI release. The evidence supports checking the store periodically and contacting Samsung when the listing should be available; it does not support promising a particular delivery date.

When the module installs but its feature does not work
An installed module can still be incompatible with the current One UI release or with a particular device variant. Use instructions written for the exact feature rather than applying a version number from another module.
Check the module’s own version
- Open Good Lock and select the affected module.
- Open the module’s information or settings screen and note its version.
- Search Galaxy Store for that module and compare the installed version with the current listing.
- Look for Samsung support guidance that names the same feature, module and One UI version.
Testing one feature at a time makes the result clear. If the module opens but one setting is absent, that can be a support difference rather than a failed installation. Samsung’s compatibility warning covers both features and settings.

Compare the symptom with the release context
- If the feature disappeared immediately after a One UI update, check for a module compatibility release before assuming a hardware problem.
- If only one setting is absent, verify whether that setting is supported on the model and software version.
- If the module itself will not open, capture its version and the Good Lock version separately.
- If several modules fail together on beta software, report the beta status prominently.
These comparisons narrow the issue without claiming that a single reset procedure works for every Galaxy configuration.
Specific fix: LockStar Adaptive Clock on Android 16 and One UI 8
Samsung has a narrow troubleshooting procedure for the Adaptive Clock, also called Stretch Clock, on Galaxy phones or tablets running Android 16 with One UI 8. This is not a general Good Lock repair and does not establish a minimum version for every LockStar feature.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Open Good Lock and select LockStar.
- Check the installed LockStar version.
- If it is lower than 7.0.1.10, tap the Back icon, tap the More options icon again, then tap Go to store.
- Install the LockStar update offered by Galaxy Store.
- Return to the Adaptive Clock setting and test the feature again.
Samsung’s wording—“If the version is lower than 7.0.1.10, tap the Back icon, then tap the More options icon again, and tap Go to store”—belongs specifically to this Adaptive Clock issue on Android 16 and One UI 8. Do not apply 7.0.1.10 as a universal LockStar requirement or as a fix for unrelated modules.
If the phone is not running Android 16 with One UI 8, or if a different LockStar setting is failing, this page’s threshold may not apply. Check the instructions for the exact feature and software combination instead.

| Problem began on beta software or after a major One UI update | Check for a compatibility release and report the beta or new-release context. | Build channel, update date and affected module. |
This sequence prevents a common mistake: treating an availability problem as an installation problem, or treating a feature-specific bug as proof that all of Good Lock is broken.
Choose the comparison that fits the symptom
When two explanations seem possible, compare them along four axes: where the failure occurs, whether the software is stable or beta, whether the listing is available for the device and region, and whether Samsung has published instructions for the exact feature. A general update check is appropriate for a download failure; a named version threshold is appropriate only when Samsung ties it to that feature and software version.

Samsung’s published guidance identifies model, software version, region and beta status as relevant variables. Including all of them is more useful than reporting only that “Good Lock does not work.” Attach screenshots when a listing is missing or an error appears, but keep the written description specific enough to distinguish the module from the main Good Lock app.
What the evidence does—and does not—support
- Supported: install Good Lock and modules through Galaxy Store; update the main app and each affected module; verify model, software and region support; account for beta or major One UI compatibility delays; follow exact feature-specific instructions.
- Not established as universal fixes: clearing cache, rebooting, uninstalling, changing region or sideloading an APK.
- Not a universal requirement: LockStar version 7.0.1.10. That threshold applies to Samsung’s Adaptive Clock guidance for Android 16 and One UI 8.
- Not evidence of hardware failure: a module missing from Good Lock or Galaxy Store, particularly during a beta or staged release.
- No general hardware purchase is indicated: the documented remedies are software updates, compatibility checks and Samsung support, not a new phone, accessory or repair part.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Good Lock missing from Galaxy Store?
Samsung availability can vary by device model, software version and region. Check the exact model and One UI version, search while signed in to Galaxy Store, and contact Samsung if the listing should be supported but remains unavailable.
Why is a module missing inside Good Lock?
Search the module directly in Galaxy Store. Samsung says modules can be released gradually, and RegiStar availability in particular depends on model, One UI version and regional support.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsShould I update Good Lock or the module first?
Check both listings. Good Lock and its modules are separate packages, so updating the main app does not necessarily update the affected module.
Can I sideload a Good Lock module APK?
Do not use sideloading as a general workaround. Samsung community guidance says manual installation will not activate a feature restricted by region or unavailable for the device.
Does LockStar version 7.0.1.10 fix every LockStar problem?
No. Samsung gives that threshold specifically for the Adaptive Clock, or Stretch Clock, issue on Android 16 with One UI 8. It is not a universal LockStar requirement.
Can a One UI beta make Good Lock modules stop working?
Yes. Samsung community staff have explained that modules may be unavailable or nonfunctional during beta periods while compatibility work is completed. Report the beta status when seeking help.

Is a missing module proof that my Galaxy is defective?
No. A missing listing can reflect model, software-version or regional availability, and staged releases can leave a module temporarily unavailable.
The Bottom Line
Use Galaxy Store as the starting point, and check Good Lock and the affected module separately. Then verify the Galaxy model, region, Android/One UI version and beta status before treating the problem as a fault. Missing listings usually require an availability check, while installed features need module-specific guidance. For Samsung’s Adaptive Clock issue on Android 16 and One UI 8, update LockStar when its version is below 7.0.1.10; do not generalize that threshold to other modules. If the listing or feature remains unavailable, send Samsung the complete model, software, region, version and symptom details.
