If aiming in Gears of War: E-Day feels too slow, too fast, or inconsistent, first identify when it happens: while looking around, aiming down sights, or using a scope. Adjust the matching Look, Target, or Scope sensitivity rather than changing every control at once. On controller, test Aim Acceleration and stick dead zones separately. There is no official universal sensitivity preset, and a miss at long range may come from projectile travel rather than a sensitivity problem.
First, identify which kind of aim feels wrong
The Coalition’s E-Day gameplay update describes the game’s weapon behavior, while the official accessibility and settings guide lists separate sensitivity controls for different aiming states. Use the symptom to choose which control to test:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Camera movement feels wrong while looking around: adjust Horizontal or Vertical Look Sensitivity.
- Movement feels wrong while aiming without a scope: adjust Horizontal or Vertical Target Sensitivity.
- Movement feels wrong through a scope: adjust Horizontal or Vertical Scope Sensitivity.
These settings are split by horizontal and vertical movement. If only one direction feels off, change that axis rather than both. Make a small adjustment, repeat the same aiming movement, and note whether it helped before changing another setting. The official guide defines the controls but does not recommend specific values.

Adjust sensitivity for your input device
Controller: test acceleration and dead zones separately
If the right stick feels unresponsive near its center, or too sensitive near its travel limit, sensitivity may not be the only setting involved. The official guide also lists Aim Acceleration and inner and outer dead-zone controls for the sticks. Change one of these at a time, then repeat the same movement and aiming test. This makes it easier to tell whether the adjustment helped. The guide does not endorse a particular acceleration or dead-zone value.

Mouse: check Look, Target, and Scope controls
For mouse input, begin with the separate Look, Target, and Scope controls that correspond to when the problem occurs. Individual players in PC beta feedback described aim that felt inconsistent at slow versus fast movement and camera sensitivity that seemed to linger briefly after leaving aim-down-sights. Those are anecdotal reports, not confirmation of a current defect, its cause, or a fix. The available official documentation does not establish that the behavior persists in the early-access build.
If the same issue reliably recurs, record your input device, game mode, weapon, the settings involved, and the steps that reproduce it. Send those details through official Gears of War support rather than assuming a community report identifies the cause.

Check whether range or Campaign settings explain the result
At distance, account for projectile travel
The Coalition states, “All projectiles now have simulated ballistics and travel time.” That means a moving target can require leading at range; a shot that misses does not necessarily indicate a sensitivity problem. The gameplay update also notes that shooting beyond a weapon’s range may require leading the target.
