If Google Play Console cannot verify your organization’s D‑U‑N‑S number, first identify whether it cannot find the number or cannot match it to your organization’s address. Then compare the D&B record with the organization details in the Google Payments profile linked to your developer account. Make corrections to the authoritative D&B record; Google says an update can take up to five business days after D&B processes it to reach Google. If the mismatch remains, submit Google’s verification issues form with the exact error and correction details.

Check the D-U-N-S number and organization record
For a lookup failure, verify the number at D&B
A D-U-N-S number is a unique nine-digit identifier assigned to an organization. Copy it as shown in the D&B record rather than relying on an old email or a number entered from memory. Google advises checking whether the organization already has a number before requesting one. A large organization may have different D-U-N-S numbers for separate entities, so use the record for the legal organization being verified—not simply another number associated with the parent company. See Google’s account-information requirements.

Confirm that the D-U-N-S number, organization name, and complete address all refer to the same D&B record. Then check the Google Payments profile linked to this Play Console developer account: Google uses the organization name and address in that profile for verification. The relevant profile is the one associated with the developer account, not necessarily another Payments profile used elsewhere. If Google’s error-specific instructions tell you to create a new Payments profile, follow that direction rather than reusing the old one. Details are in Verify your developer identity information.

Correct the authoritative record and allow time for the update
If the organization name, address, or D-U-N-S record information is wrong, request the correction through Dun & Bradstreet first. Google directs organizations to update those details with D&B rather than editing the organization fields directly in Play Console. Once D&B has processed an address correction, Google says it may take up to five business days for the update to reach Google. That is a general propagation estimate, not a guarantee for an individual account.
- Ask D&B to correct the organization information in the relevant record.
- Wait for D&B to process the correction and confirm it appears in the record.
- Allow up to five business days after D&B processing for Google’s systems to receive the update.
- Retry verification in Play Console using the corrected organization details.
If you have not yet obtained a D-U-N-S number, Google says applying through D&B is free and can take up to 30 days. The 30-day estimate refers to obtaining a number; it is separate from the up-to-five-business-day estimate for a processed correction to reach Google. Be cautious of third-party services charging high administrative fees: Google does not state that a paid intermediary is required. See Google’s required-information guidance and identity verification help.

Escalate if the records match but Play Console still rejects them
If the D&B record is correct, the linked Payments profile is consistent with it, and the update has had time to propagate, submit Google’s verification issues form. Google asks for as much detail as possible. Include:

When an exception route may apply
Google describes alternative verification routes for organizations in regions D&B does not support and for known government organizations or agencies. These are exceptions for organizations unable to obtain a D-U-N-S number, not general workarounds for an unresolved mismatch. Check Google’s identity verification guidance for the applicable route and contact Play Console support if you cannot access the Console. For an organization account with an unverified Google Payments profile, Google lists a D-U-N-S number, an official government identity document, and an official organization document among the verification information required; known government organizations or agencies are excepted from the D-U-N-S requirement. The organization name and address are taken from the linked Payments profile.
