Start with reversible checks: restart the phone, note the exact message, and see whether the problem follows the phone or happens only with one app, location, SIM, or accessory. Then use support instructions for your exact model and software version. TECNO, Infinix, and itel phones do not all share the same menus, hardware, carrier settings, or warranty terms, so avoid model-specific changes and factory resets until you have checked the official guidance.
Before troubleshooting: identify your phone and the symptom
“TECNO,” “Infinix,” and “itel” identify brands, not a single set of troubleshooting steps. Menu names and procedures can vary by model and software version, including HiOS versions on TECNO phones. Before changing settings, find the phone’s exact model and software version in its Settings app or on its packaging or purchase records. If you cannot navigate the phone, use its model name from the box or purchase information when looking up the manual.

Write down the exact error message and when it appears. Note whether the fault started after a drop, liquid exposure, software change, new app, SIM change, or different charger. These details help distinguish a temporary connection problem from one that needs carrier or repair support. Avoid assuming that a label such as “No Service” has one fix: itel’s official troubleshooting index lists “No Service,” “Network Disconnected,” and call-quality issues as separate support topics, but does not establish a universal remedy for every handset or network.
- Try first: Restart the phone and check whether the issue returns.
- Isolate the scope: Find out whether the problem affects one app, all network functions, one location, or the whole phone.
- Protect your data and hardware: Back up important information before any step that may erase data, and do not open the phone or handle its battery.
A short troubleshooting note can make the next step clearer. Record the date and time, where you were, what you were doing, the message on screen, and which checks you tried. For a call problem, note whether it happened with one contact or several. For a charging problem, note whether the phone displayed an indicator or responded at all. These observations do not diagnose the fault by themselves, but they help you describe it consistently to your carrier, app provider, or authorized support service.

Fix “No Service” or “Network Disconnected”
These messages can relate to coverage, the carrier, the SIM, or the phone. The steps below are general, low-risk Android troubleshooting suggestions—not a universal itel, TECNO, or Infinix procedure. Follow the exact model manual if you need to handle a SIM or change a setting.
Check whether the problem is location- or carrier-related
- Check whether the phone gets a signal in another location where you would normally expect coverage. If service returns elsewhere, the original location or its coverage may be relevant.
- If available, check whether another device using the same carrier has service in the same place. If multiple devices are affected, contact the carrier or check its service information rather than changing phone settings repeatedly.
- Check whether the account and plan are active with the carrier. The phone’s manufacturer cannot resolve a carrier-side account restriction or outage.
Compare like with like when checking another device: the same carrier and the same location are more useful than a phone using a different network or tested somewhere else. If the other device also has trouble, that points toward a carrier or local coverage question, though it does not prove the handset is fault-free. If only your phone is affected, continue with the safe handset checks and share that comparison when asking for help.
Refresh the phone’s connection
- Restart the phone, then wait for it to reconnect to the mobile network.
- As a general Android check, turn airplane mode on briefly and then turn it off. Allow time for the phone to search for service. Menu labels and controls differ by model and software version.
- Record whether the error returns, and whether calls, messages, and mobile data are all affected or only one function. That distinction can help the carrier or support team narrow down the issue.
A brief loss of signal during the refresh is expected while the phone reconnects; give it time before deciding whether the check changed anything. Do not keep toggling settings or make several unrelated changes at once. Testing one reversible action at a time makes it easier to tell which result, if any, was meaningful.

If you suspect the SIM is loose or damaged, consult the manual for your exact model before removing it. Do not force the SIM tray or insert an object into the phone if you are unsure how it opens. If the tray is stuck, the SIM is visibly damaged, or the phone reports the same problem after the manual’s safe checks, contact the carrier or an authorized service center.
The carrier can help with questions about the account, plan, SIM, or service availability. The handset maker or its authorized service provider is the more appropriate route when the problem appears isolated to the phone or the hardware may be damaged. If you are unsure which applies, explain what happened and the comparisons you made; avoid assuming that a menu change or reset will solve a carrier-side problem.
Improve poor call quality
Call-quality issues can be intermittent, so note when and where calls sound unclear, drop, or fail to connect. The itel support index recognizes call-quality issues, but it does not specify one fix that applies across devices.
- Try a call in another location to see whether the problem changes with coverage.
- Ask whether the other person hears the same problem. If only one caller or one contact is affected, that is useful context for troubleshooting.
- Check whether calls and other mobile services fail together, or whether the problem appears limited to calls.
- Restart the phone and check whether the problem returns.
For a useful comparison, make a note of whether the call was indoors or outdoors, whether the problem occurred at the start or during the call, and whether it repeats with different contacts. Do not treat a single clear call as proof that an intermittent issue is gone. Look for a pattern across locations or calls and share it with the carrier or support team.

If calls remain unreliable in multiple locations, contact the carrier and then consult support for the exact handset. Avoid changing network or calling settings based on instructions for a different model; available settings can vary by device, software, and carrier.
Troubleshoot a phone that will not charge
Begin with the outlet and the external connection, not the phone’s internals. A manual excerpt for the itel P55 5G specifically says to ensure the charger and cable are securely connected and undamaged. That instruction is model-specific; it does not establish a universal charger specification or complete charging procedure for every TECNO, Infinix, or itel phone.
- Check that the wall outlet works and that the charger and cable are connected securely at both ends.
- Look over the charger and cable for visible damage. Stop using a frayed, split, bent, or otherwise damaged accessory.
- If you have another suitable charger and cable, use only ones that match your exact phone’s specifications. Do not guess a wattage or connector requirement from another model.
- Give the phone time to respond after connecting it. If it still will not charge, note whether it shows an indicator, vibrates, or remains completely unresponsive.
Change only one part of the setup at a time if you are checking an alternative outlet or compatible accessory. That can help you tell whether the issue seems to follow the wall connection, cable, charger, or phone. A charger that fits physically is not automatically confirmed as the correct match; check the phone’s own manual or official model support for specifications rather than relying on a different handset’s requirements.
Do not open the phone, try to manipulate a built-in battery, or force a cable or object into the charging port. If the phone or accessory is physically damaged, or the charging fault persists after checking the external connection, stop experimenting and seek model-specific support. A compatible replacement cable may be appropriate only after checking the phone’s specifications; connector type and charging requirements are not established for all models by the itel P55 5G manual excerpt.

There is no single connector or wattage requirement that can be safely assumed for every TECNO, Infinix, and itel phone.
Fix an app that crashes or a phone that feels slow
First determine whether the failure is limited to one app. If other apps work normally, focus on that app; if several apps fail or the entire phone becomes unresponsive, treat it as a broader device problem.
If one app crashes
- Restart the phone and open the app again.
- Check the app’s official store for an available update. Avoid downloading app installers from unverified sites.
- Note whether the crash happens during a particular action and whether it began after an app or system update. This information may help the app developer or phone support.
- Before clearing app storage, read the app’s own guidance and confirm that important local data is backed up. Clearing storage can remove information kept only on the phone.
Compare the app with other apps you can use for similar tasks, if applicable. If only one app fails, report its name, what you were doing, and whether the problem began after an update to the app or phone software. If several unrelated apps fail, or the entire phone locks up, report that broader pattern instead of treating it as an isolated app issue.

Do not assume that reinstalling or clearing data is harmless: the result depends on how the app stores information and whether it has synced it. TECNO’s official support site provides model and HiOS resources, but the available brand-specific guidance does not establish a universal app-crash fix for all three brands.

Restart the phone if it is responsive enough to do so. If it will not respond, use the restart or recovery instructions in the exact model’s manual; key combinations and recovery procedures can vary. Do not follow a button sequence found for another model. If the phone repeatedly freezes, document when it happens and contact official support before attempting a reset.
Before a more disruptive step, consider whether the phone still lets you back up important information. If it does, protect what you need before following any instruction that may erase data. If it does not, ask official support what options apply to your model rather than trying recovery steps copied from another device.
When to reset—and why it should not be the first step
A factory reset can remove personal information and settings stored on the phone. It is not a routine first response to a network, charging, or app problem. First complete the relevant reversible checks, back up important information, and consult the exact model’s instructions. Confirm that you can access the accounts and credentials needed to set up the phone again.
If official support recommends a reset for your specific fault, follow the model-specific instructions and understand what will be erased before proceeding. If you cannot back up your data or are unsure what a reset will remove, ask support for guidance rather than using it as a diagnostic experiment.
A reset is disruptive and may not address a problem caused by local coverage, a carrier account, a damaged accessory, or a hardware fault. For that reason, compare the impact of each option: a restart or connection refresh is usually easier to reverse than clearing app storage; a factory reset can erase data; and paid repair involves cost and service arrangements that should be checked locally. The symptom and the model determine what makes sense after the basic checks.
Choose the next step by risk and what the problem follows
| What you observe | Reasonable next step | When to escalate |
|---|---|---|
| One app fails, but the rest of the phone works | Restart and check for an update from the app’s official store. Protect local app data before clearing storage. | If the app still fails, consult the app provider or phone support with the app name and failure details. |
| Mobile service fails in one place, or other devices on the carrier are also affected | Check another location and compare with another device on the same carrier. | Contact the carrier if the issue appears tied to coverage, an outage, or the account. |
| Service fails across locations on this phone | Restart, try the general airplane-mode refresh, and consult the exact model manual before handling the SIM. | Contact the carrier and official handset support if the fault persists. |
| The phone will not charge, or the cable or phone is visibly damaged | Check the outlet and external connections; stop using visibly damaged accessories. | Use authorized local repair support for persistent faults or physical damage. |
| The phone repeatedly freezes or becomes unresponsive | Record when it happens and use only the exact model’s restart instructions. | Consult official model support before a reset or repair. |
This comparison is a starting point, not a diagnosis. The right next step depends on the exact model, symptom, software version, carrier, and region. Reversible checks should come before disruptive resets or paid repairs.

In general, use the least disruptive check that can answer the question you have. A location comparison helps separate a coverage pattern from a phone-specific one; checking whether other apps work helps separate an app failure from a wider device problem; inspecting the charger and cable helps rule out an external connection issue. Avoid changing several settings, replacing accessories, and resetting the phone all at once, because then you may not know which change affected the result.

TECNO’s official support site offers phone and HiOS resources, user guides and downloads, community support, and a route to Carlcare repair centers. Use the regional support page relevant to your country and look up instructions for your exact model and software version. Regional pages and available service options can differ.
Carlcare describes itself as “the official customer service provider for Infinix, TECNO, itel and more.” It lists phone repair, service-center lookup, warranty checks, and repair-status information. Availability and warranty terms depend on the country and applicable policy; confirm eligibility locally rather than assuming a particular repair is covered or quoting a price without checking.
Before arranging a repair, check the local service-center information, warranty eligibility, and the process for checking repair status. The existence of a service listing does not by itself establish that a specific repair is covered, available in your area, or free. Do not assume a price, warranty duration, or turnaround time without confirmation for your model and country.
Seek official support or an authorized local repair center if basic checks do not resolve the problem, the phone is physically damaged, or charging or network faults persist. Do not open the handset or attempt battery repair. Have the model name, software version if available, exact error, carrier, and steps already tried ready when you contact support. If the phone is still working, back up important information before handing it in and ask the local service provider about its intake process.
Frequently asked questions
What should I try first if my TECNO, Infinix, or itel phone says “No Service”?
Restart it, check whether service returns in another location, and compare with another device on the same carrier if available. A brief airplane-mode toggle is a general Android troubleshooting check, not a model-specific procedure. Check account or service questions with your carrier, and use your exact model’s manual before removing a SIM or changing settings.

Does “Network Disconnected” mean the phone is broken?
Not by itself. The message may relate to coverage, the carrier, a SIM, or the handset. Compare locations and, if possible, another device using the same carrier before assuming there is a hardware fault. The itel troubleshooting index lists the label as a support topic, but it does not give one fix for all networks and phones.
