If wireless earbuds will not appear in Bluetooth settings, reconnect, stay connected, or play sound, start with charge, pairing mode, and the selected audio output. Then remove the saved pairing and set the earbuds up again. The exact pairing and reset steps depend on the earbud model, so use its official instructions rather than a universal button sequence.
First, identify what is going wrong
“Bluetooth problems” can mean several different things, and the symptom points to a different check. Before changing settings, note whether the earbuds are missing from the available-device list, will not reconnect after being paired before, show as connected but produce no sound, or disconnect and cut out during playback.

- Missing from the list: check charge, pairing mode, proximity, and whether the earbuds are connected to another device.
- Will not reconnect: restart the connection, then remove the saved earbud record and pair again.
- Connected but silent: check the selected audio output, volume, and media-audio setting.
- Dropouts or unexpected switching: check distance, interference, and any active links to other devices.
If the earbuds do not appear in Bluetooth settings
- Charge the earbuds and case. Low charge can prevent normal startup or discovery. If charging seems unreliable, check that the earbuds are seated correctly and that the case contacts are clean and making contact.
- Put the earbuds into pairing mode using the exact model’s instructions. Being powered on is not necessarily the same as being discoverable. Pairing gestures vary, even among generations from the same manufacturer; Samsung, for example, documents different approaches for different Galaxy Buds models.
- Keep the earbuds close to the phone or computer while opening its Bluetooth settings and refreshing or rescanning the device list.
- Check nearby devices. If the earbuds are already connected to a tablet, laptop, or another phone, disconnect them there or turn Bluetooth off on that device temporarily, then try discovery again.
Do not use a pairing or reset button sequence from a different model. Follow the manufacturer’s official guide for the exact earbuds, including any instructions about opening the case, holding a button, or using a companion app.

If previously paired earbuds will not reconnect
- Toggle Bluetooth off and back on on the phone or computer, then try reconnecting.
- Restart both sides of the connection: restart the phone or computer and power-cycle the earbuds as their manual describes.
- Remove the old saved pairing. In Bluetooth settings, select the earbuds and choose the available option such as Forget, Unpair, or Remove device. Wording and menu placement differ by system.
- Pair again from scratch. Put the earbuds into their model-specific pairing mode, then select them from the device’s Bluetooth list.
On Galaxy phones and tablets, Samsung also lists resetting saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings as a further troubleshooting step. This erases saved connection information, so expect to reconnect affected accessories and networks afterward. Samsung’s menus can differ by device and software version; its support materials also recommend Samsung Members diagnostics and checking for software updates when basic steps do not resolve the issue.

If Bluetooth says connected but there is no sound
A Bluetooth connection does not guarantee that sound is being sent to the earbuds. Check the active audio output on the phone or computer and raise the volume both on the source device and, if applicable, in the earbud controls.
- On Android: open the saved earbuds’ Bluetooth settings and check that Media audio is enabled for music and video. Phone audio controls call audio separately.
- On a computer: select the earbuds as the sound output. For calls, also check the conferencing app’s speaker and microphone selections; a call app can use different devices from the system’s normal playback output.
- On any source device: check whether playback or calls are going to another connected accessory or device instead.
For iPhone and Mac, use the system’s current Bluetooth and sound-output controls to select the earbuds. Exact Apple menu steps are not included here; consult Apple’s guidance for your device and software version if you need step-by-step navigation.

If audio cuts out or switches to another device
- Reduce distance. Keep the source device near the earbuds and retry without walls or other obstacles between them.
- Try a less congested location. Nearby wireless activity and electronic equipment can interfere with a connection. Sony lists crowded stations, cash registers, microwaves, traffic lights, and automatic doors as possible sources of interference.
- Disconnect unwanted source devices. Turn off Bluetooth on a nearby device or disconnect the earbuds from it if you do not want playback or calls to move there.
- Check multipoint behavior if the model supports it. Some earbuds can maintain links with more than one source; this is not a feature of every model. Review the companion app or Bluetooth settings to see which devices are active.
Some models offer a connection-stability setting rather than prioritizing sound quality. For example, Sony documents a model-specific “Priority on stable connection” option for the WF-C510 in its Sound Connect app. Do not assume that setting or app path applies to other earbuds.

If the steps above do not help, consult the official support guide for the exact make and model and follow its published reset or initialization procedure. These procedures differ; a sequence intended for another model may do nothing or have a different effect. If the problem persists after the correct reset and fresh pairing, test the earbuds with a different phone, computer, or other playback device. Sony specifically recommends trying another playback device, such as another phone or a Walkman, when connection trouble continues. If possible, also test the original phone with a different Bluetooth accessory.

| The earbuds work with another source, but not the original phone or computer. | The original device’s Bluetooth configuration, saved pairing, or audio settings may be involved. | Review that device’s Bluetooth and output settings, update its software if appropriate, and use its official diagnostics or support. |
| The original phone or computer pairs with another Bluetooth accessory, but the earbuds fail with more than one source after a correct reset. | The issue is more likely specific to the earbuds or their charging case. | Contact the earbud manufacturer for model-specific diagnostics or service. |
| Both devices have trouble with multiple accessories or sources. | The tests do not isolate a single cause. | Use the phone or computer maker’s diagnostics and support, and the earbud maker’s model-specific troubleshooting. |
These checks help distinguish discovery or reconnection trouble from audio routing and radio conditions. They do not by themselves prove a hardware failure. Samsung advises contacting Samsung Support or visiting a Samsung service center if Galaxy Bluetooth troubleshooting does not resolve the issue.
