If a continuous ASMR stream keeps buffering on Airtel broadband, first lower its quality in YouTube’s player, then compare playback across devices, services, locations, and—if possible—Ethernet. Buffering alone cannot tell you whether the cause is YouTube, a device or app, home Wi-Fi, your router or ONT, congestion, or Airtel’s connection. These checks help narrow it down before you contact support.
1. Lower YouTube’s playback quality
- Open the ASMR stream in YouTube.
- Select Settings → Quality.
- Choose a lower available resolution and replay the same section.
If playback improves, the lower setting is a useful workaround, but it reduces image detail. It does not prove your broadband line is faulty or establish a minimum speed for the stream. Airtel also suggests trying a lower resolution in its buffering guidance.

2. Find out whether the problem follows YouTube, a device, or the whole connection
Keep the test as consistent as you can: replay the same stream, then change one factor at a time.
- Try another device: Play the stream on a phone, computer, or television connected to the same home network.
- Try another YouTube video: This helps determine whether the issue is limited to one stream.
- Try another streaming service: If other services also buffer, the problem may extend beyond YouTube.
- Try another internet connection: If available, play the stream over mobile data or a different Wi-Fi network. YouTube recommends checking another connection and restarting the affected device when troubleshooting playback.
If the issue happens on only one device, focus on that device or its YouTube app. Restart the device; on supported devices, YouTube’s help guidance also describes clearing the app cache. If only YouTube has trouble, use YouTube’s in-app Help and feedback option. If several devices and services are affected, check the home network next.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
3. Check whether Wi-Fi signal or placement is contributing
- Move the affected device closer to the router and replay the stream.
- Reduce obstacles between the device and router. Airtel advises placing the router centrally, in the open rather than in a corner or closed box, and at least four feet above the floor.
- If your router offers both bands, compare the available 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks where practical. Airtel describes 2.4 GHz as having longer coverage and lower speed, and 5 GHz as faster with shorter coverage. Choose based on the signal at the device; walls, distance, interference, and device support affect the result.
A faster result near the router suggests the wireless path may be involved, but it does not by itself identify the cause. Ofcom’s consumer guidance on broadband and Wi-Fi problems explains that distance, walls, the router, devices, and interference can affect Wi-Fi; slow Wi-Fi does not automatically establish a broadband-line fault.
4. Compare playback over Ethernet
If both the playback device and router or ONT have Ethernet ports, connect them with an RJ45 Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6 cable and replay the stream. Airtel documents Cat5/Cat6 cabling for a wired device connection. This is an optional diagnostic test, not a required purchase or guaranteed fix.

- Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
- Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
- Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
- Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks
If wired playback improves, Wi-Fi may be contributing. The comparison alone does not prove the router is defective or that Airtel’s line is healthy. If the device has no Ethernet port, skip this test.
5. Check the ONT and router, then restart them safely
- Confirm the ONT and router have power and that their cables are connected securely.
- Check the lights and their labels. Labels and meanings vary by modem, so use the markings on your equipment rather than assuming one light pattern applies to every model.
- Inspect the fiber patch cord and make sure it is seated. Avoid sharp bends or rough handling.
Airtel’s home troubleshooting guidance says to disconnect ONT/router power, wait 15–20 seconds, reconnect, and allow the connection to return. Wait at least 60 seconds before turning the computer back on.

- NIGHTHAWK WIFI 6 ROUTER FOR YOUR WHOLE HOME: Delivers fast, reliable WiFi across every room of your apartment or small home for streaming, gaming, video calls, and smart home devices, all running at the same time without slowing each other down.
- WORKS WITH YOUR EXISTING INTERNET SERVICE: Pairs with your existing modem or gateway via ethernet. Compatible with most cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite providers. Some gateways and modem router combos may require bridge mode. No coax needed.
- SET UP AND MANAGE YOUR NETWORK WITH THE NIGHTHAWK APP: Download the free Nighthawk app on iOS or Android for guided setup. Manage WiFi, run speed tests, pause devices, and set up guest networks from anywhere. Active internet required.
- READY FOR THE DEVICES YOU ALREADY OWN: Your phones, laptops, and TVs work right out of the box. WiFi 6 delivers speeds up to 1.8 Gbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Backward compatible with WiFi 5 and earlier.
- COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
If you use the Airtel Thanks app, Airtel documents this Wi-Fi optimization path: Broadband → My Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi → Optimize Wi-Fi. App labels can change, so the current screen may differ.
6. Decide who to contact
- One device only: Restart it, check for available app or device updates, and use YouTube’s playback troubleshooting options. On supported devices, clear the YouTube app cache if the help instructions for that device offer it.
- YouTube only: Report the playback issue through YouTube’s in-app Help and feedback option.
- Several devices and services, including on Ethernet: If the issue persists after the checks above, contact Airtel and describe what you tested, when buffering occurs, and whether wired playback changes it. Airtel can assess whether the issue is provider-side or equipment-related.
YouTube notes that live programming can be affected by congestion and other factors. Its help page also states: “The lower the broadcast delay, the less buffer the video player will have.” That is general context about live programming; it does not establish what delay configuration this ASMR stream uses or diagnose your connection.
