Steam error 1138:100134: AION 2 will not launch
If Steam shows 1138:100134 and the game fails to launch, NCSOFT AION 2 Global Support recommends running Steam as administrator and trying again. The support page, dated September 23, 2026, notes that the error can have multiple causes; administrator mode is a first step for this error, not a guaranteed fix for every launch failure.

- Close Steam if it is open.
- Right-click the Steam shortcut and choose Run as administrator. If Windows asks for permission, confirm it.
- Try launching AION 2 again through Steam.
- If the same error remains, submit a request to NCSOFT customer support and include the exact code.

Changing which NC Account is linked to Steam does not transfer a character. NCSOFT AION 2 Global Support says character and game data are associated with the NC Account in use when the character was created. If you linked Steam to a different NC Account, return to the original account path—the account used when you created the character.

Follow the official account-link instructions that match how you first accessed AION 2. The support FAQ distinguishes cases according to the original access method; if you cannot identify or regain the original account, contact support rather than creating more links in an attempt to move the character.

Login fails with an NC/PLAYNC account conflict
NC and PLAYNC are separate account types. NCSOFT says using the same email address for both can trigger an account conflict that blocks access. Use the official conflict-check page and follow its prompts; if it asks you to change the email registered to the NC Account, you will need that account’s password.
- Open the official account-conflict check.
- Follow the instructions shown for your account. If prompted to change the NC Account email, enter the password for that NC Account.
- If you cannot complete the check or do not have the required credentials, contact official support for account recovery.

Login is unavailable during maintenance
Maintenance can make login unavailable by design. Check the AION 2 official announcements on Steam for current notices and restoration updates before changing account settings or troubleshooting your network. Past notices document maintenance periods and a subsequent return to service; they do not establish today’s server status.

The documented support material does not provide a general fix for crashes without the named error, lag, packet loss, or disconnects. Avoid assuming that a VPN, DNS change, router adjustment, firewall exception, or reinstall is an official remedy. Contact NCSOFT customer support with the exact error or symptom, your platform, how you sign in (including the Steam-to-NC Account link), and when the problem occurs. Those details help distinguish an account issue from a launch or connectivity symptom.
