There is no confirmed universal fix for this symptom.
Identify what is not responding
Before changing settings, note the game’s name and version, your platform, and your input method. Also clarify whether you mean a rotating object within a puzzle, a map or navigation screen, or the player’s camera view. Those distinctions help separate an intended puzzle state from an input-binding issue, a game-specific defect, or a device problem.

- Game and version: Check the title screen, settings, or platform library for the installed version.
- Platform: Record whether you are playing on PC, console, mobile, or a VR headset.
- Input: Specify touch, keyboard and mouse, controller, or VR hand tracking.
- What you expect to rotate: Describe the puzzle object, screen, or camera and what happens when you try.
Do not assume a camera-turning control should rotate a puzzle object; games can use separate controls for each.

Myst is one possible match, but the phrase “puzzle map” does not identify it. If you do mean Myst, distinguish the tower-rotation puzzle on Myst Island from the Fortress Rotation Simulator and from turning the player’s view.

Check which Myst puzzle or control you mean
Cyan’s December 2020 Myst update notes describe a fix so the tower faces correctly when viewed from outside, and added text to the tower-rotation painting. The notes also say that the controller stick dead zone was increased to help with drift during free-roam. These are historical, release-specific changes; they do not establish the cause of a current puzzle map that ignores input.
Cyan’s January 2021 Myst Quest update notes separately list a fix for a misaligned fortress-rotation issue. They also mention adjusting snap-turn degrees so the resulting turn is represented more accurately. Snap turning changes the player’s view; it is not the same action as rotating a puzzle object.

For Myst Mobile on iOS, check the control mode
If the issue is with general movement input in Myst Mobile on iOS, Cyan documents two modes: Virtual Gamepad Touch Controls and Legacy Navigation Mode. The former provides gamepad-like touchscreen controls; the latter uses single-finger interaction similar to older Myst versions. You can adjust the choice in Settings, as described in Cyan’s Myst Mobile controls article. That article concerns movement controls and does not say that changing modes fixes tower or map rotation.

Cyan’s July 15, 2026 update post identifies patch 3.3.0 for Myst (2020/2021). Its listed changes include an achievement fix and a key-icon display issue on certain Windows handhelds, not a general fix for a puzzle map that ignores controls. If your game is on a different version or platform, use the notes only as version-specific context.

For a Myst technical issue that remains unexplained, Cyan’s support page directs players to its FAQ portal and says to contact Cyan if the answer is not there. Cyan directs owners of certain physical Myst editions published by Broderbund/Ubisoft to Ubisoft Help.

Give the game’s name and version, platform, input method, and the exact puzzle or screen involved. Explain whether other controls work and what happens when you try to rotate the object. For a Myst support request, include those details so support can distinguish the tower puzzle, fortress simulator, mobile movement controls, and camera turning.
