Samsung printers do not all use the same cover-opening or paper-removal procedure. Pull paper slowly and gently; if it resists, stop rather than forcing it.
Before opening the printer, identify the jam
- Record the full model number. Find it on the printer’s label or in its information display, if available.
- Note the exact message or error indicator. It may identify a tray, feeder, interior, exit area, or duplex path.
- Open the manual or support page for that model. Use the procedure for the named location. Samsung’s SL-M2024 support page, for example, lists manuals for that specific model; those instructions should not be assumed to apply to another printer. HP Support also publishes clearing instructions for selected Samsung Xpress families, including the SL-M2620/M2626, SL-M2820/M2826, and SL-M2830/M2836 (HP Support: Clearing Paper Jams).
The procedures in the Samsung-family M262x/M282x manual distinguish among the tray, manual feeder, printer interior, exit area, and duplex area. A particular printer may not have every one of these locations or paths. Use the manual that matches your exact model rather than treating any one sequence as universal (M262x/M282x manual: Clearing paper jams).

Clear paper only from the location your model identifies
Input tray or manual feeder
Follow the model’s instructions for the tray or feeder named by the message. If paper is visible and the manual directs you to remove it, draw it out slowly and gently. Do not tug sharply or try to pull paper from a different access point simply because it is easier to reach.

Use the exact model’s internal-access steps. The fuser area can be hot, so take care and do not reach into an unidentified area. Do not dismantle the printer or use a tool to pry paper loose.

Exit area or duplex path
Check these areas only if the message or your model’s manual points there and the printer has the relevant path. Follow its named access procedure; the location and steps can differ by model.
If the paper will not come out
Stop if the sheet resists, tears, or is not visible where the first step directs you to look. Follow the next location or access step in your exact model’s guide. If the guide does not provide a safe next step, or paper remains trapped, contact support for that model rather than pulling harder or improvising. The model-family guides use different steps for different jam locations, and forcing paper can leave pieces behind or cause damage.

Close up and resume printing
After removing the paper, close the covers and resume printing only as the printer’s own guide directs. Some model-specific instructions call for opening and closing a particular cover; do not assume that action applies to every Samsung printer or that it will automatically clear every error.
