Nokia phones do not all use the same connector, so confirm the model before choosing a replacement accessory. If the phone still will not charge with known-good compatible accessories, arrange professional service rather than opening it.
Start with the phone model and basic checks
“Nokia phone” covers devices with different connectors and model-specific instructions. Find the model name on the phone or its box, or in Settings if the phone still turns on. Then use a charger and cable compatible with that model.

- Plug the charger into a wall outlet you know works. If there is no response, try another working outlet.
- Check the cable and charger for visible damage. Stop using damaged accessories.
- Gently make sure the cable is fully connected to the charger and phone. Do not force the connector.
Connector types vary: HMD’s guides specify USB-C for the Nokia 5.4 and USB micro-B for the Nokia 3 V. Check the guide for your exact model rather than assuming a cable will fit. Nokia 5.4 charging instructions; Nokia 3 V charging instructions.

A phone with a completely discharged battery may not show a charging indicator immediately. HMD’s Nokia 5.4 user guide says: “If the battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes before the charging indicator is displayed.” That is model-specific guidance, not a guaranteed wait time for every Nokia phone. Test the cable and charger one at a time
Changing one item at a time can help identify whether an accessory is the problem. Use only accessories compatible with your phone’s model.
- Try a known-good compatible cable while keeping the same charger and outlet.
- If that does not help, try a known-good compatible charger, keeping the cable and outlet unchanged.
- If possible, check whether the original cable works with another device that accepts the same connector. Inspect it for damage and confirm that both ends are fully inserted.
Nokia-branded Pro AC Adapter support gives similar cable checks, but that guidance concerns a RichGo-manufactured accessory sold under a Nokia brand licence; it is not a general diagnostic guide for every Nokia phone. Nokia Pro AC Adapter FAQ.

Know when to stop troubleshooting
If charging only works while you hold the cable at an angle, or the phone remains unresponsive with known-good compatible accessories, the fault may need professional diagnosis. A technician can assess the port, charging board, or battery. HMD’s repair guides cover particular devices—the HMD Skyline charging board and HMD Pulse Pro battery—so their parts and steps should not be treated as interchangeable instructions for Nokia phones.
