Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf you see a DoorDash order you didn’t authorize, report it to DoorDash and contact the bank, card issuer, or payment service that processed the charge. They handle separate parts of the problem: DoorDash can investigate the account and order, while your payment provider explains how to dispute the transaction and protect the payment method.
First, check whether the charge matches an order
Open DoorDash order history and review the receipt before treating a statement total as a single unknown order. DoorDash says orders placed close together may appear as one combined charge; order history and receipts show the per-order breakdown. See DoorDash’s explanation of combined charges.

Report the order to DoorDash
If you can sign in and the order appears in your account, open that order’s help flow and report the problem. If you cannot access the account or the available options do not cover unauthorized use, contact DoorDash through its current official consumer support channels.
#1 Best Overall
- Get thousands of restaurants, convenience stores, pet stores, grocery stores, gifts, and more at your fingertips.
- Easy ordering, order customizations, and real-time tracking
- Pickup, group order, and scheduled delivery options available
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
DoorDash states that “Our chat and call support are available 24/7” and lists 855-431-0459 on its Customer Support page. Verify the contact details on that page before calling, since support information can change.
Try cancellation if the order is still active
If the order is still being prepared or delivered, use DoorDash’s self-help cancellation flow if it is available. DoorDash warns that cancellation may no longer be possible after the merchant confirms the order. Its accidental-order guidance does not guarantee that an unauthorized order can be stopped or refunded, so report it to support as well.

- Get thousands of restaurants, convenience stores, pet stores, grocery stores, gifts, and more at your fingertips.
- Easy ordering, order customizations, and real-time tracking
- Pickup, group order, and scheduled delivery options available
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Contact your payment provider separately
Tell the bank, credit union, card issuer, or other payment provider that processed the charge that you do not recognize or authorize it. Ask how to dispute that specific transaction and whether to lock or replace the card or payment credential. Reporting an order to DoorDash does not itself file a dispute with the payment provider.

Rules depend on the payment type and circumstances. The CFPB advises reporting unauthorized transactions promptly; follow your provider’s official instructions and ask about applicable deadlines and protections. Its guidance on unauthorized credit and debit transactions explains why the process can differ.

If the charge is on a credit card
Call the card issuer promptly. For a credit-card billing error, the CFPB says to send a written billing-error notice within 60 calendar days after the charge appeared on the statement to preserve the rights described in its guidance. Follow the issuer’s instructions for where and how to send the notice. Details are in the CFPB’s credit-card charge dispute guidance.
If the charge is on a debit card or bank account
Report it promptly to the bank or provider and follow its instructions. Do not assume the credit-card written-notice deadline or protections apply to a debit transaction; the applicable rules and timing can depend on the circumstances.
Rank #4
- Get thousands of restaurants, convenience stores, pet stores, grocery stores, gifts, and more at your fingertips.
- Easy ordering, order customizations, and real-time tracking
- Pickup, group order, and scheduled delivery options available
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Secure any account that may be affected
If someone may have accessed your DoorDash account, email, or payment information, secure each affected account using that provider’s official controls. If you cannot sign in, use DoorDash’s current support options rather than relying on a password-reset or session-revocation sequence that may differ by account or app version.
Change credentials where appropriate, especially if you reused a password, and review account activity for other changes or orders you do not recognize. Secure the email account associated with DoorDash too, since access to it may help someone access other services.

Keep a record of the reports and disputes
Save the order details, receipt, support case information, payment-provider messages, and copies of any written dispute notice. Record the dates and outcomes of calls, and track promised follow-ups. The CFPB recommends keeping written records and noting follow-up calls; see its billing-error recordkeeping guidance.
Escalate only if there are signs of broader identity theft
One suspicious food order does not, by itself, establish identity theft. If you find that other personal or financial accounts have also been compromised, contact the affected financial institutions’ fraud departments and close or secure affected accounts as appropriate. The CFPB recommends reporting broader identity theft at IdentityTheft.gov, where you can obtain an Identity Theft Report and recovery plan. Its identity-theft guidance outlines further steps.
