Start by bringing the speaker and phone, tablet, or computer close together in a clear area. Then test a different app or source device, check power, restart both devices, and re-pair using the instructions for your exact speaker model. These checks help identify whether the cause is the environment, the playback source, the computer, or the speaker itself.
First, identify what is failing
Notice whether the Bluetooth connection drops completely or whether audio skips while the devices still appear connected. Also note whether the problem occurs with one source device or several, and whether moving closer changes it. Those differences help determine which checks to try first.

1. Test at close range in a clear area
Place the source device near the speaker, with as few walls, doors, people, metal objects, or other obstacles between them as practical. Temporarily move away from nearby wireless equipment and electronics, then play audio again. Change one environmental factor at a time so you can tell whether it affects the interruptions.
Bose’s guidance for the SoundLink Mini II Special Edition says that distance and obstacles such as walls, doors, or other electronics can weaken the Bluetooth signal. 2. Try another app and another source
Play audio from a different app or a locally available source. If possible, connect a second phone, tablet, or computer to the speaker. If the second source plays smoothly, focus on the original app or device. If music is streamed over the internet, check that the phone’s Wi-Fi or cellular connection is working; a streaming interruption can sound like a Bluetooth problem. 3. Check charge and restart both devices
Make sure the speaker and source device have adequate charge. Restart each using its ordinary power controls, then reconnect and test playback. 4. Check for updates, then re-pair
Check for available system updates on the phone or computer, and consult the speaker maker’s instructions for any product update. If the connection is still unstable, remove the speaker from the source device’s Bluetooth list and pair it again. Some speakers also let you clear their stored pairing list.

5. If you use a Windows 10 or 11 PC, check its Bluetooth settings
These checks apply to Windows computers, not phones or tablets. Follow Microsoft’s current instructions for your installed Windows version:
- Turn off Battery Saver or Energy Saver temporarily and test whether connectivity changes.
- In Device Manager, check the Bluetooth adapter’s power-management setting and prevent Windows from turning it off to save power.
- Restart Bluetooth Support Service.
- Check for and install an updated Bluetooth adapter driver.

6. Reset only with instructions for your model
A reset may be an option if ordinary restarts and re-pairing do not help, but reset procedures and their effects differ. A factory restore may erase settings or stored pairings. Check the speaker’s manual or official support page to confirm the correct procedure and what it clears; do not copy a button combination from another speaker.
