Start with the person who gave you the account; if that does not help, try the organization’s IT department or help desk. For a small business or club, ask whoever manages its email or website. Google’s guidance says, “For help or questions, contact an administrator.”
First, check whether your account is managed by an organization
A work or school Google Account commonly uses the organization’s domain instead of ending in @gmail.com. The organization may control which Google services are available and how the account is configured. A personal Gmail account is different; Google directs personal Gmail users to its general account help rather than an organization’s Workspace administrator.

Google describes the administrator as someone in the organization that manages the account, not a Google customer-service employee. Google generally cannot identify that person for an individual user. See Google’s guidance for work or school Google Accounts.

Who to contact, in order
- Ask whoever gave you the account. The person who issued your username is often the most direct route to the administrator.
- Contact your organization’s IT department or help desk. Tell them which account you use and what you need help accessing.
- For a small business, club, or group, ask whoever manages its email or website. That person may administer Workspace or know who does.
- If the current administrator is unknown, ask the organization owner or the person responsible for the Workspace subscription and billing to route your request. Checking an internal directory may also help, but these are practical ways to locate a contact, not a Google-guaranteed lookup process.
Why signing in at the Admin console may not help
The Google Admin console is for administrators. A regular user cannot use it as a directory to look up the administrator; access requires an administrator account. If you do not already have administrator credentials, ask someone in the organization who does. Google’s Admin console sign-in guidance covers access to the console.

If you are the administrator but cannot sign in
Lost administrator access is a recovery problem, not a request to identify the administrator. Use Google’s administrator password and access recovery instructions. Do not assume that entering admin.google.com with an ordinary user account will grant console access.
If a Google service is unavailable
An unavailable service does not by itself mean your account is compromised. First check that you are signed in to the account you intended to use; you can also try another account or sign out and back in. Administrators can control service availability for organization accounts, so ask yours whether the service is enabled and whether your account or subscription includes it. Google explains organization-managed service access in its Workspace Learning Center.

Google Workspace support is not a substitute for finding your organization’s administrator. Support contact options depend on the account’s assigned privileges and the organization’s subscription. Google documents a separate Support privilege for contacting Workspace support; an ordinary user should start with the organization’s administrator. See Google’s Workspace support guidance.
