Third-party indexes list examples such as Xiaomi 15 Ultra as xuanyuan and POCO F6 as peridot, but Xiaomi does not publish a comprehensive codename-to-model directory in the sources available for this reference. Treat the mappings below as starting points, then verify the exact model and region before using firmware or ordering parts.
What a Xiaomi phone codename tells you
A codename is a short identifier used in technical listings, including some firmware indexes. It can help you find information about a device when a listing uses that identifier instead of the name printed on the box. It does not, by itself, establish the phone’s exact retail variant, model number, region, or compatibility with a particular firmware package or part.

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones appear in Xiaomi’s official global software-support information, and Xiaomi’s product pages list models under the Redmi and POCO brands. However, the codename mappings available for this reference come from third-party indexes rather than an official, comprehensive Xiaomi directory. Xiaomi’s public product and support information is therefore useful for checking a phone’s identity and support status, but it is not a complete codename lookup table.

Mi is an older Xiaomi product-brand name, while Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO are the brand names used across the product and support information described here. The examples above should not be read as a complete list of current or past Mi-branded devices. MiuiFirm is another third-party firmware index that can be used as a cross-check; neither index replaces checking the exact device identity.
How to look up your phone’s codename safely
- Identify the exact phone. Open the phone’s Settings and look for About phone (the precise menu wording can vary). Record the full device name and model number. If you cannot access Settings, check the box or the device’s identifying label.
- Find a matching third-party index entry. Search the Xiaomi Repair Tool model index or MiuiFirm for the exact retail name. Do not assume a similar name or a shared product family means the entry applies to your phone.
- Cross-check all identifying details. Compare the codename with the full retail name and model number, and establish the region or regional variant. If the index does not clearly match those details, do not use the codename as proof of compatibility.
- Check Xiaomi’s model-specific support information. Xiaomi says software-support applicability and rollout timing can vary by model and region, and its supported lists may be adjusted. For security-update status, check the model-specific end-of-life information maintained by Xiaomi’s Security Center.
Are Redmi and POCO phones the same model under different names?
A shared family resemblance, similar specifications, or an entry in the same third-party index does not prove that a Redmi and a POCO phone are the same model or use interchangeable firmware and parts. Compare the exact retail name, model number, regional variant and codename for each device. For a firmware or repair decision, compatibility with the exact model and region matters more than a similar brand name.

Does a codename identify the regional version?
Do not rely on a codename alone to identify a regional version. Xiaomi’s global software-support information notes that model and regional applicability can vary, while the third-party mappings cited here do not constitute a comprehensive official regional catalog. Confirm the model number and region in addition to any codename before installing firmware, selecting a replacement part, or checking an accessory’s fit.
How codename lookup relates to software support
A codename can help locate a technical listing, but it does not tell you whether Xiaomi currently supports that specific phone. Xiaomi’s Security Center says it typically maintains security updates for at least two years after a device’s first shipment and publishes an end-of-life list. “Typically” describes Xiaomi’s general policy, not a guarantee that every model receives updates for a fixed period. Check the individual model’s current status and applicable region rather than inferring support from a codename or product family.
