How do I find and use Telegram stickers?
Open the sticker panel from the message input in a chat to browse and send stickers. Telegram’s sticker platform is open, and its feature history records AI-powered search for millions of stickers in February 2025. The exact search interface can vary by app version and platform, so look for the sticker search controls available in your client rather than expecting an identical layout everywhere. Emoji can also act as shortcuts: type an emoji in a chat and Telegram may offer stickers associated with it. Not every sticker necessarily has an emoji match.

Tap a sticker in the panel to send it in the chat. If you want to keep a sticker collection together, add stickers to a custom pack; Telegram’s editor announcement describes collecting existing stickers into themed packs. Adding a sticker to a Telegram pack does not grant copyright or permission to reuse it elsewhere.

How do I create a sticker inside Telegram?
For a photo-based sticker, Telegram’s built-in Sticker Editor is the simplest route; no separate design software is required. Telegram announced the editor on April 14, 2024, saying that anyone could create stickers and sticker sets without leaving Telegram. Read the Telegram Team’s announcement.
- Open any chat and open the sticker panel from the message input.
- Tap the plus button and choose a photo.
- Use the available editor controls to add text or drawings, remove the background or cut out the subject, erase or restore areas manually, and add an outline as needed.
- Send the finished sticker directly in the chat, or add it to a pack for reuse.
These steps follow Telegram’s April 14, 2024 description. Button labels and interface details may differ across clients or change over time.

How do I create and share a reusable sticker pack?
Telegram’s sticker guide describes @Stickers as a tool for creating and managing sticker and emoji packs; Telegram’s feature history identifies @Stickers as a mini app as of August 31, 2025. Use it when you want to manage a pack beyond making a single photo sticker in the editor.
A pack can be shared by sending someone one of its stickers: the recipient can tap it to add the set. Each sticker set also has its own unique t.me link, which you can share directly. Telegram’s editor announcement explains both sharing routes.

Which file format should I choose?
Telegram documents three distinct sticker publishing paths. The specifications below are from its official technical guide; check that guide for current requirements before exporting, because product specifications can change.

For ordinary photo-based stickers and basic packs, you can use Telegram’s editor instead of following an external animation or video workflow. Telegram also says TGS animations can be under 30 KB and describes them as small compared with an average photo; this is Telegram’s technical description, not an independent measurement.

Keep custom emoji separate from sticker packs
Custom emoji are not the same publishing path as ordinary stickers. Telegram’s guide lists separate image and video sizing requirements for custom emoji and notes Premium restrictions on adding and using custom sets. Because access details can change, check Telegram’s current guide before making a custom emoji pack.

Use original work or get permission to publish someone else’s material. A sticker’s visibility in Telegram does not mean you have permission to reuse it outside Telegram. Telegram’s FAQ says it accepts copyright complaints about public sticker sets and can remove sets that violate intellectual-property rights or other applicable legal rules. See Telegram’s FAQ.

Telegram’s FAQ also states that public content, including user-uploaded sticker sets, is not part of Telegram’s core UI. That distinction matters: public availability does not make a sticker set rights-free or exempt it from legal review.
