Identify your handset’s full software build
If the phone still starts
Check the phone’s system information for its model number and complete build number. The precise menu path can vary by HiOS version, so use Settings search for terms such as “build number” or “model,” or consult TECNO support if you cannot locate them. Record the entire strings exactly, including letters, numbers, and hyphens; do not rely on a partial version number.

If the phone does not start
Look for the model information on the handset or its original packaging and retain any existing service or purchase records that identify its region. These may help support staff narrow down the variant, but they do not replace confirmation of the installed build. If you cannot establish the complete model and firmware identity, do not choose a ROM by guesswork.

Read TECNO’s security-update information and contact Carlcare for guidance relevant to your location. A current latest build cannot be identified without a verified source for that handset and region.

Why this is not a safe step-by-step flashing guide
Generic instructions for Transsion flashing tools do not verify the correct tool, authorization requirements, package, partition choices, or recovery result for a particular CG8 build. There is no validated end-to-end procedure established for this exact device and firmware combination. Providing button presses or tool settings without that confirmation could lead to data loss or leave the phone unusable.
