Start with Marvel’s official news pages and Marvel Games’ verified channels. If an announcement later names a developer, publisher, or platform partner, add that organization’s official newsroom and social accounts to your checks. Until a source connected to the game confirms it, treat posts and leaks elsewhere as rumors—not announcements.

Use Marvel’s Latest News index as a starting point; its search listing includes a “Latest Games News” section. Marvel also has a Games category. The pages were not directly accessible during review, so the available evidence establishes those listings, not a game-specific update feed or posting schedule.

Marvel Games’ official channels
Marvel has directed readers of a game announcement to follow Marvel Games on X. Verify the current account link through Marvel’s own site rather than trusting a handle copied into a rumor post. No particular account, feed, or notification schedule for an unannounced game is established.

Developer and publisher
Once Marvel names the developer or publisher, follow that company’s own channels for updates it is authorized to share. For example, Insomniac’s support guidance points readers to its official X/Twitter, Discord, Instagram, and Facebook accounts, while NetEase’s Marvel Rivals newsroom demonstrates a dated, game-specific news archive. These examples show useful channel types; neither company is established as being attached to the unknown game.

Platform partner
If the announcement names a platform partner, check that company’s official blog as well. PlayStation Blog has published Marvel game updates by an Insomniac Games community manager, including a recap of a Marvel’s Wolverine panel and trailer. That makes the blog a primary source for relevant PlayStation-related updates, not a channel to assume every Marvel project will use.
How to tell whether a post is official
- Open the original post or article. Prefer Marvel or Marvel Games, then the named developer, publisher, or platform partner.
- Check who published it. Confirm the account or newsroom is linked from the organization’s own site; a repost, screenshot, or account name in a rumor thread is not confirmation.
- Look for direct confirmation. If none of the organizations connected to the game has confirmed the claim, describe it as a rumor, not an announcement.
- Keep the claim within its source. A platform blog may confirm a platform-specific post, for example, without establishing that every future update will appear there.
Insomniac’s guidance for its own games says that information not confirmed by Insomniac, PlayStation, or Marvel should be considered rumor, potentially false, or misinformed. Apply the same source-checking principle to the rights holder and partners actually named for the game; Insomniac’s rule does not establish who is involved in an unannounced project.

Do not read silence as a schedule
Insomniac says, “If there is no news being posted, there is no news to share.” That is useful advice against inferring a reveal date or event appearance from a quiet period. The same support article says its support channels are not the place to seek information about future releases, apart from incoming game updates, hotfixes, or patches. For an unannounced game, no reveal date, release window, event appearance, newsletter, or update cadence is established; rely on a direct official announcement rather than a guessed timetable.
