Where bastions can generate
Bastion remnants generate in Nether biomes other than Basalt Deltas, according to Mojang’s Java Nether Update notes and Bedrock 1.16.0 release notes. These notes do not specify how far you must travel, how frequently bastions appear, or a way to detect one from a distance. If you are searching without a map or command, keep exploring eligible Nether terrain rather than relying on a promised radius.

Travel through Nether biomes other than Basalt Deltas and watch for large structures rich in blackstone. Mojang identifies four bastion types: bridge, Hoglin stable, housing units, and treasure room. Their layouts differ, so there is no single silhouette to expect. Finding one may take continued exploration.

Microsoft’s Bedrock /locate command reference says the command can find the nearest specified structure if it exists in the current dimension. It requires cheats and Game Director permission. The documented structure syntax is /locate <subcommand: locatesubcommandstructure> <structure: structurefeature> [useNewChunksOnly: Boolean]; useNewChunksOnly defaults to false. The reference does not provide a verified bastion identifier in the cited excerpt, so use the command suggestions in your installed game version rather than assuming an identifier from elsewhere. Check a seed map
If you know the world seed, you can enter it in the third-party ChunkMaps bastion remnant finder and select the matching edition and version. Its operator warns that Bedrock coordinates are approximate, may be off by a chunk, or may be blocked by terrain. Treat map markers as leads and confirm the location in-game.

The four official types are bridge, Hoglin stable, housing units, and treasure room; Mojang describes bastions as blackstone-rich structures associated with Piglins and Hoglins. A bastion is not automatically safe to enter: the official notes warn that Piglins react badly to intruders taking their possessions. Expect hostile resistance if you enter to loot, and do not assume every variant has the same layout or encounter.
