To check upcoming episode and season dates, use Crunchyroll’s Release Calendar on the website: open Categories, then choose Release Calendar. For a season-by-season list of simulcasts, use Simulcast on the website or Browse > Simulcasts in the mobile app. Save titles you want to follow to your Watchlist; Premium members can also organize them in Crunchylists.
Choose the Crunchyroll feature that matches your task
Crunchyroll has separate tools for checking release information, browsing a seasonal lineup, and remembering titles. Using the right one avoids treating a saved list as a schedule—or expecting the seasonal list to show every upcoming episode date.

The calendar is the direct choice when dates matter. Simulcasts are for discovering a seasonal lineup, and saved lists are for keeping track of titles you want to return to. Crunchyroll documents these feature details in its Watchlist and Crunchylist help article.
Check upcoming dates in the Release Calendar
Open the calendar on the website
- Sign in to Crunchyroll in a web browser.
- Open Categories and select Release Calendar.
- Scan the calendar for the dates and titles you are interested in. Crunchyroll says it includes upcoming and newly released episodes, seasons, and movies.
- Select a release to see the additional details available for that entry.
The calendar is currently documented as a website feature, not a mobile-app feature. If you are looking for it in the app and cannot find it, switch to Crunchyroll’s website rather than assuming the calendar is missing from your account. Because interface labels can change, check Crunchyroll’s current release-calendar instructions if the path looks different.

Use the free-episode view when relevant
Free users can change the calendar filter from Premium Episodes to Free New Episodes. Choose the latter when you specifically want to see the free-new-episode view rather than the premium-episode view. The filter changes what you are looking at; it does not turn a premium episode into a free one.
If you are checking one title, select its calendar entry instead of relying only on the date grid. The calendar provides additional details for a selected release. A calendar listing is useful for finding release information, while the title page and available viewing options are where you can check what Crunchyroll currently offers for that show.
Browse a season’s simulcast lineup
On the website
Choose Simulcast on Crunchyroll’s website to browse shows released as simulcasts. Use the season selector to view the current season or switch to a past seasonal list.

In the mobile app
Open Browse, then select Simulcasts. This is the documented mobile route for seasonal simulcast browsing, unlike the Release Calendar, which Crunchyroll currently documents as website-only.
A simulcast listing answers a different question from the calendar. It helps you discover which shows belong to a season; the calendar is the more direct place to inspect upcoming and newly released dates. Crunchyroll’s term simulcast refers to episodes released on its service at the same time they air in Japan. That definition describes the timing relationship, not a guarantee that every title appears in every location or that all episodes are released at an identical local clock time. For a specific show, check the live listing and its release details.
To revisit an earlier season, use the season selector rather than assuming the current season’s page includes older lineups. This is helpful when you have heard about a title but do not know when it first aired, or when you want to explore a previous seasonal list before saving a show.

Save titles so you can find them again
Use Watchlist for a straightforward follow list
Crunchyroll says Watchlist is available to all members. Add a title you want to remember, then return to your Watchlist on web or mobile when you are ready to find it again. This is useful after discovering a show in the calendar, the Simulcast list, a genre category, or search.

A Watchlist is a saved-title list, not a release schedule. Use it to keep titles together; return to the calendar for date-based release information. The distinction matters if you want to monitor several shows at once: saving them helps you remember what to check, but the calendar remains the date-focused tool.
Use Crunchylists if you want separate groups
Premium members can create up to 10 Crunchylists, with up to 100 shows in each. Crunchylists are available on web and mobile. You might choose to group titles by season, watch priority, or whether you plan to start them later; those are personal organizing ideas, not built-in Crunchyroll categories.

If you do not need separate groups, the Watchlist is the simpler option and is not limited to Premium members. If you do want multiple lists, keep the limits in mind when deciding how to organize them: a maximum of 10 lists and 100 shows per list is the stated Crunchylist capacity. - Start with the calendar when dates are your priority. On the website, open Categories > Release Calendar and scan upcoming days and weeks for titles that interest you.
- Set the calendar filter to match your access. If you are a free user checking free availability, switch from Premium Episodes to Free New Episodes.
- Explore the seasonal list. Open Simulcast on the website or Browse > Simulcasts in the app. Use the season selector if you want a past lineup.
- Save titles you want to remember. Use Watchlist for one general list. If you are a Premium member and want separate groups, create Crunchylists within the stated list and title limits.
- Return to the calendar for release checks. A saved title helps you find a show again; use the date-based calendar when you want to check its upcoming or newly released entries.
This workflow keeps discovery, scheduling, and organization separate. You can also start with a particular genre or show instead of browsing broadly: Crunchyroll lists categories such as New and Simulcast Season, along with genre browsing and title search. These are alternative discovery routes, not substitutes for the calendar when you need release dates.

If you already have a preference, browse a genre or use title search rather than scanning every seasonal listing. Crunchyroll’s available-show guidance also points to categories such as New and Simulcast Season. These routes can help you identify titles to investigate, after which you can check the calendar for release information or save a title to a list.
Availability is a live catalog question: discovery pages and search show what the service currently makes available to you. Crunchyroll’s available-shows help page is the relevant starting point if you are trying to understand what can be watched on the service. Do not treat the presence of a show in a seasonal discovery list as proof that every episode or version is currently playable for your account.
What to do when something is missing
- You cannot find Release Calendar in the app: open Crunchyroll in a web browser and use Categories > Release Calendar. The company currently documents the calendar as website-only.
- You need a season list on your phone: use the app’s Browse > Simulcasts path rather than searching for the calendar there.
- The calendar shows a view you do not expect: check whether the filter is set to Premium Episodes or Free New Episodes, and switch it if needed.
- You cannot find an older seasonal lineup: open the Simulcast list and use its season selector to choose a past season.
- You saved a show but still need its release date: return to the Release Calendar. A saved list is for organization, not date tracking.
- A label or path differs from these instructions: check the linked Crunchyroll Help article for that feature; the service notes that the calendar is currently website-only, and live interface labels may change.
Keep the three jobs distinct
For dates, use the website calendar; for seasonal simulcast discovery, use the Simulcast list on web or mobile; for remembering titles, use Watchlist or, if you are a Premium member, Crunchylists. That division is the simplest way to find upcoming anime on Crunchyroll and keep the shows you care about organized without confusing a schedule with a saved list.
