Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo find an author’s published stories, search their name with a topic, publication, or phrase you remember; then open the publisher’s page to check whether the full article is available to read. Search results can help you locate work, but they are not a guaranteed complete list of everything an author has published.
Start with the author’s name and a clue
A name by itself can return results for several people. Add something that identifies the person or story: a subject, the publication, a memorable phrase, or an approximate date. For example, search Jordan Lee climate reporting, or add the publication name if you know where you read the piece.

If you remember a distinctive passage, enclose it in quotation marks to look for an exact phrase. If another person or topic with the same name dominates the results, put a minus sign directly before an unwanted term, such as Jordan Lee -football. Google documents exact-phrase searches and exclusions among its search refinements: Refine Google searches.
Search within a publication or date range
When you know the publisher
Use Google’s site: operator followed by the publisher’s domain and the author’s name. For example, site:example.com "Jordan Lee" searches for matching pages on that domain. Replace example.com with the actual site. This can narrow a broad web search, but it does not establish that every story on the site will appear.

When you remember roughly when it appeared
Add after: or before: with a date to narrow results, such as after:2024-01-01. Google News also offers ways to refine results by date range, exact phrase, excluded words, or publisher site. Its available controls can vary; see Google News Help: Find what you want on Google News.
Look for a journalist’s work in Google News
For a journalist, try searching their name in Google News, along with a topic or publication if needed. Google’s 2009 announcement described an author: search in News and the option to click an author’s name on an article to find other work by that journalist: Search by Author on Google News. That is documentation of a feature at the time, not a promise that the same controls are available for every author or article today.

Open the publisher page to check access
A search result can locate an article without granting access to its full text. Open the publisher’s page and look for a subscription prompt, registration requirement, or a preview that ends before the article does. Google News Help cautions that people receiving a shared paid story may still need to pay to access it. The publisher’s own access rules determine whether you can read the full story.

Why an author search may miss stories
Search results are not a definitive bibliography. Google says news results can reflect factors including relevance, location, prominence, authoritativeness, freshness, usability, and interests in personalized experiences. The results you see can therefore vary with the query, location, and settings; a missing result does not prove the author never published a story.
Author information on publisher pages can help search systems identify who wrote an article, but it does not guarantee a special author feature. Google Search Central explains that Article structured data can tell Google more explicitly about an article’s title and author; it is not required for Google News features such as Top stories: Learn more about Article structured data. Google’s explanation of its news systems is available at Understanding How News Works on Google.
