Use the Epic Games Launcher, not the Epic Games Store website, to see, install, organize, verify, or remove games and software you own. Open the launcher, select Library, search by a full or partial title, and adjust the filters if a game is not visible. Epic Games Store Support states that the library contains games and software purchased from the store, while downloading and managing it requires the launcher.
If a title seems to have disappeared, check the signed-in account, clear the Installed filter, reset other filters, inspect the launcher’s hidden-library setting, and then verify the title’s operating-system support and purchase status. Those checks separate a visibility problem from a refund, expired access, gifted purchase, or revoked code.

Where your Epic Games library is located
Install and open the Epic Games Launcher for your computer, sign in, and choose Library in the navigation. This is the management view for games and software obtained through the Epic Games Store. Epic’s support documentation describes it this way: “Your library will contain all the games and software you purchased from the Epic Games Store.” See Epic’s library-management guide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe store website is useful for browsing product pages and making purchases, but it is not the place to download or manage your owned collection. Epic says, “You can browse and purchase games on the Epic Games Store, but downloading and managing your library requires the Epic Games Launcher.” The launcher is therefore the correct starting point for installation, updates, uninstalling, file checks, collections, and other title actions.

Find a game or application quickly
- Open the Epic Games Launcher and sign in to the account that owns or claimed the title.
- Select Library.
- Use the library search field. It accepts partial words as well as complete names; Epic gives typing
rockas an example that can locate Rocket League. - Apply filters when the collection is large. Depending on the titles in the account, filters can narrow results by installed status, genre, feature, type, platform, or subscription eligibility.
- To see every owned title, remove Installed and any other restrictive filters. The Installed view shows only games currently present on that computer.
- If the result still looks wrong, reset the filters and refresh the library view before assuming the title is missing.
Feature filters are especially useful when you are choosing what to play rather than looking for one known title. Eligible titles can be filtered for features such as cloud saves, controller support, multiplayer, or achievements. The exact feature choices depend on which games in the account carry those tags; an absent feature filter does not prove that every game lacks the feature.
Use the filters in stages instead of combining every option at once. Start with a partial title search, then add one filter that matches your immediate need. For example, clear the Installed filter first when looking for an uninstalled game; use the Cloud Saves feature only when comparing titles that may move between computers; and use genre, type, or platform when deciding what is suitable for the current device. Resetting the view after each search prevents an old filter from silently excluding the result you expect.
Organize titles and use each game’s controls
For a curated view, add a title to a user-created collection. Collections can represent themes such as Play next, Co-op, or a group of installed applications. They change how you arrange the library, not whether a title is owned, purchased, or available under the account.
Open the menu associated with a title—usually the three-dot control on its library card—to access the actions Epic documents. The available commands can vary by title, platform, and installation state.
| Control or information | What it is for | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Store page | Open the title’s product page for its description, requirements, feature tags, and support information. | It does not change ownership or install the game by itself. |
| Favorite | Mark a title for quicker recognition in the library. | Favorites are an organizational aid, not a separate purchase list. |
| Collection | Place the title in a user-created grouping. | Collections do not alter purchase status or account access. |
| Add-ons | View downloadable content associated with the title when Epic exposes that option. | Some titles have no add-ons or do not expose this menu item. |
| Install options | Choose installation details offered for that title, such as its local destination or optional components. | Options differ between games and operating systems. |
| Manage | Open management tools, which may include file verification and other title-specific settings. | Not every management command appears for every title. |
| Uninstall | Remove the local installation from the computer. | Uninstalling does not remove the title from the account library. |
| Installed version and play time | Inspect the version installed locally and the play-time information shown by the launcher. | These are library details, not a guarantee that a title is currently running or updated. |
Use collections and favorites for navigation, while using the title menu for changes to files or installation. Keeping those purposes separate makes it less likely that you mistake a display change for an ownership change.

What to do when a game is missing
A blank result does not immediately mean that access was lost. Follow this order, which checks common visibility problems before exceptional account or licensing cases.
- Verify the account and sign-in method. Confirm the launcher is signed in to the Epic account that bought or claimed the title. If you originally used an external sign-in such as Google or Facebook, try that same method; creating or entering a different Epic account can produce an apparently empty library.
- Remove the Installed filter. In Library, uncheck Installed, reset the remaining filters, and refresh the view. A title that is owned but not installed will not appear while Installed is the only permitted state.
- Check the hidden-library setting. Open launcher settings and look for Hide Game Library. If it is enabled, turn it off and return to Library.
- Confirm operating-system support. A title that does not support the operating system currently in use cannot be downloaded or launched there. Check the product page’s requirements before treating the absence of an install button as an account problem.
- Inspect purchase history and access conditions. A refunded game is no longer downloadable. A limited-time beta or press version can expire. A code revoked after being reported fraudulent no longer grants access; for a revoked retail code, Epic directs you to the retailer. If the transaction says Gifted to, the purchase was sent to another person’s account rather than added to yours.
- Restart the launcher. Close it completely, reopen it, and allow the library to reload.
- Clear the launcher webcache if necessary. Epic includes cache clearing among the steps for a library that remains incorrect after the account, filter, and purchase checks.
These causes have different outcomes. A filter, hidden-library setting, wrong account, or temporary display problem can usually be corrected in the launcher. A refund, expired limited-time entitlement, unsupported operating system, gifted transaction, or revoked code requires the corresponding account, platform, or retailer resolution instead.
Recommended Free Tools
| What you observe | Most relevant check | Expected interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| The title appears only when filters are cleared | Installed and other Library filters | The game is owned but not installed, or another filter excluded it. |
| No games appear after a sign-in change | Epic account and original external-login method | You may be in a different account from the one that owns the purchases. |
| The title is visible but cannot be installed on this computer | Operating-system requirements | The current OS may be unsupported for that title. |
| Purchase history shows a refund, gift, expiry, or revocation | Transaction details and code source | The entitlement has a specific access limitation rather than a display error. |
Install, verify, and uninstall titles
Install from Library
Select a title in Library and choose its installation command. Follow the options presented for that game, including the local installation directory and any optional components. The launcher’s choices are title-specific, so do not assume that one game’s options or disk requirements apply to another.
Verify installed files
When a game crashes, fails to start, or reports damaged files, open its title menu and choose the available Manage command. If Verify is offered, run it and let the launcher compare the local files with the expected installation. Verification is a repair check for the local installation; it does not restore a refunded or expired entitlement and does not make an unsupported title compatible with your operating system.
Uninstall one game
- Open Library.
- Locate the installed title.
- Click the three-dot menu beside it.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Confirm the removal.
This removes the local game files and frees storage, while the owned title remains listed in the account library so it can be downloaded again when eligible. Epic documents this path in its uninstall instructions.

Reinstalling the launcher
Reinstalling the Epic Games Launcher has a broader consequence than uninstalling one title: Epic’s launcher-reinstallation guidance warns that uninstalling the launcher removes installed games from that computer. After the launcher is installed again, games owned by the account can be downloaded again. Do not assume that every local save file survives this process. Epic specifically describes progress as retained for games that support cloud saves; games without that support may depend on local data. See Epic’s launcher installation guidance before removing the launcher.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Because launcher removal affects every installed title on that computer, treat it as a last resort for a display problem. First try the account check, filter reset, hidden-library setting, restart, and webcache clearing. If you do reinstall, record which games are installed and confirm cloud-save support for titles whose progress matters. Owned titles can be downloaded again after sign-in, but that does not guarantee recovery of saves stored only on the computer.
Check cloud-save support before changing computers
Cloud saves are title-specific, not universal. In Library, select the Cloud Saves feature filter, or open the game’s store page and inspect its feature tags. A title that lacks the Cloud Saves tag should not be expected to synchronize progress automatically between computers. Epic explains cloud saves as online storage of save files so supported games can use the same files on different devices; only qualifying titles receive that behavior. The support article is How to check if a game on the Epic Games Store supports cloud saves.
Enable the launcher setting
- Open the launcher and select the Settings icon.
- Choose Settings.
- Turn on Enable Cloud Saves.
Epic warns that repeatedly disabling and enabling cloud saves while playing on more than one computer can create synchronization conflicts. If the launcher presents a conflict, compare the timestamps or progress descriptions for the available local and cloud versions. Select the copy you actually intend to keep; choosing casually can replace newer progress with an older save. Epic’s instructions are available at Enable Cloud Saves in the Epic Games Launcher.
Cloud Saves is a portability feature, not a guarantee that every game uses identical save behavior. Confirm the tag for each title before uninstalling, moving to another computer, or removing the launcher. When a conflict appears, stop and compare the choices rather than repeatedly toggling the setting or selecting the first option.

Epic website, launcher library, and wishlist are different
| Task | Epic Games website | Epic Games Launcher |
|---|---|---|
| Browse product pages | Yes | Yes, through title links |
| Purchase a game | Yes | Yes |
| View and manage the owned library | No; Epic says management requires the launcher | Yes |
| Download and install games | No | Yes |
| View or edit the wishlist | Yes | Yes |
The wishlist is a planning list for games you may buy or monitor for discounts. It is separate from the owned library: adding a game to the wishlist does not grant download access, and a wishlisted title should not be treated as purchased. Epic’s instructions for both interfaces are in Add and remove games from your wishlist in the Epic Games Store and Launcher.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical routine for a large library
- Start broad. Reset filters and search by a partial word when you cannot remember the complete title.
- Narrow by intent. Use Installed for games already on the computer, a genre filter for a type of game, or feature filters for multiplayer, controller support, achievements, or cloud saves when those tags are available.
- Use collections for decisions. Create groups such as Play next or Co-op instead of relying on memory or repeatedly scrolling the entire library.
- Check the title card before acting. Look for installed version, play time, and available menu commands so you know whether you are changing files, opening a store page, or simply reorganizing the display.
- Protect progress before storage changes. Confirm Cloud Saves support and the launcher setting before uninstalling, changing computers, or reinstalling the launcher.
- Keep ownership questions separate from storage questions. Uninstalling removes local files; it does not remove an eligible title from the account. Conversely, a refunded, expired, gifted, or revoked entitlement cannot be restored by reinstalling files.
Choosing the right diagnosis
The most useful distinction is whether the problem is visibility, access, save portability, or storage. The launcher can correct visibility through account selection, filters, hidden-library settings, refreshes, and cache clearing. Access issues require checking the transaction, operating-system support, gift recipient, refund, expiry, or code status. Save portability depends on the individual title’s Cloud Saves support and a correctly enabled setting. Storage actions affect local files and disk space, not the account’s ownership record.
Storage planning without confusing it with ownership
A large library can contain more owned titles than the computer has room to install at once. Use the Installed filter to identify what is consuming local space, then uninstall titles you are finished with rather than removing them from your account. The library remains the record of eligible ownership, while installation is a local storage decision. If internal space is limited, an external SSD may provide additional local storage for installed PC games, but it will not fix a hidden library, wrong account, unsupported operating system, or cloud-save conflict.
Before removing several games, check each title’s Cloud Saves tag and confirm that Enable Cloud Saves is on. For titles without that feature, do not assume progress will return after a reinstall or launcher removal. The safest sequence is to resolve account and save questions first, then make the storage change.
Quick decision checklist
- Can’t find a title? Confirm the account, try the original external login, clear Installed and other filters, disable Hide Game Library, refresh, restart, and clear the webcache.
- Can see it but can’t install it? Check operating-system support and the transaction record for a refund, expiry, gift, or revoked code.
- Need to repair a broken install? Use the title’s Manage menu and Verify command when available.
- Need more disk space? Uninstall the local installation; ownership remains in the library.
- Moving to another computer? Confirm Cloud Saves support, enable the setting, and resolve any timestamped conflict deliberately.
- Looking at the website? Use it for browsing, purchases, and wishlist management; use the launcher for the owned library and downloads.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I view my owned Epic Games library on the website?
No. Epic says the website supports browsing and purchases, while viewing, downloading, and managing the owned library requires the Epic Games Launcher. The wishlist is available on both the website and launcher, but it is separate from purchased titles.

Why is an owned game missing from Library?
First confirm the Epic account and original external-login method, then clear the Installed filter, reset other filters, refresh, and check whether Hide Game Library is enabled. Next verify operating-system support and inspect purchase history for a refund, expiry, gift, or revoked code.
Does uninstalling a game remove it from my Epic account?
No. Uninstalling removes the local installation and frees storage. An eligible title remains in the account library and can be downloaded again. This is different from a refund, expired entitlement, gifted transaction, or revoked code.
Will reinstalling the Epic Games Launcher delete my games?
Epic warns that uninstalling the launcher removes installed games from that computer. Owned games can be downloaded again after reinstalling and signing in, but local save data is not guaranteed to survive. Progress is retained through cloud saves only for titles that support them.
How do I know whether a game supports cloud saves?
Select the Cloud Saves feature filter in Library or inspect the title’s feature tags on its store page. Cloud saves are title-specific, so do not assume that progress synchronizes for every game.
What should I do when a cloud-save conflict appears?
Compare the timestamps or progress descriptions for the local and cloud versions shown by the launcher. Choose the version you intend to keep rather than selecting casually, because the choice can replace newer progress with an older save.
Can collections or favorites change what I own?
No. Collections and favorites are organization tools. They change how titles are arranged or marked in the launcher; they do not change purchase status, account ownership, or download eligibility.
What does a “Gifted to” transaction mean?
It indicates that the purchase was sent as a gift to another person’s account rather than added to yours. Check the transaction details before treating the missing title as a launcher display error.
The Bottom Line
Manage your Epic Games Store library in the Epic Games Launcher. Start with Library, search by partial title, clear restrictive filters, and use collections and title menus to organize or maintain installations. If a game is missing, verify the account, hidden-library setting, operating-system support, and transaction status before escalating. Uninstalling affects local files, while cloud-save support determines whether progress follows you to another computer.
