For wireless charging, use a MagSafe Charger with a 35W-or-higher adapter; Apple reports up to 50% in 30 minutes. Apple’s figures come from its stated test setup, and actual charge times vary.
What you need for each fast-charge option
| Method | Required accessories for Apple’s stated result | Apple’s reported charge time | What to expect while charging |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wired USB-C | A USB-C cable rated for 60W and a USB Power Delivery 3.1-or-better adapter that supports AVS | Up to 50% in around 15 minutes | The cable plugs into the phone; this is Apple’s faster reported option. |
| MagSafe wireless | Apple MagSafe Charger and a 35W-or-higher power adapter | Up to 50% in 30 minutes | No cable plugs into the phone. Apple sells the MagSafe Charger and adapter separately. |
| Qi2 wireless | A compatible Qi2 charger | Not stated for the 50% test; Apple lists wireless charging up to 25W | Wireless charging is supported, but Apple’s cited 30-minute result is specifically for MagSafe. |
How to fast charge iPhone 18 Pro with a cable
- Check the cable rating. Choose a USB-C charging cable capable of 60W. A cable that merely fits the phone may not meet Apple’s stated requirement.
- Check the adapter protocol, not only its wattage. The power adapter must support USB Power Delivery 3.1 or better and Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS). A label showing a high wattage by itself does not establish that it supports the required protocol and AVS.
- Connect the cable and adapter. Plug the USB-C cable into iPhone 18 Pro and connect it to the qualifying adapter.
Apple reports up to 50% charge in around 15 minutes with this setup. The claim is not a promise that every phone will reach that level in that time: Apple says its test used drained preproduction units, with the measurement starting when the Apple logo appeared as the phone started up.

How to fast charge wirelessly
Use MagSafe for Apple’s stated 30-minute result
- Connect an Apple MagSafe Charger to a power adapter rated at 35W or higher.
- Place iPhone 18 Pro on the MagSafe Charger.
Apple reports up to 50% in 30 minutes for this combination. The MagSafe Charger and power adapter are sold separately. Apple’s test used its 1-meter Model A3502 or 2-meter Model A3503 MagSafe Charger with an Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max (Model A3351).
Qi2 is supported, but the MagSafe timing does not automatically apply
Apple lists MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W. Qi2 is therefore a supported wireless charging option, but Apple’s published 30-minute-to-50% test used Apple MagSafe Chargers. Apple does not state an equivalent 50% time for Qi2 chargers, so do not assume every Qi2 accessory will match that result.

Does a 60W charger make iPhone 18 Pro charge faster?
Not necessarily. For Apple’s wired fast-charge claim, the adapter must support USB PD 3.1 or better with AVS, and the cable must be rated for 60W. Wattage alone does not confirm either requirement. Apple’s tested wired combination used an Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max (Model A3351), along with the qualifying cable; the published requirement describes the supported adapter protocol and AVS, not simply a 60W label.

Apple says its fast-charge testing was conducted in July 2026 with preproduction iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max units and software. The units were drained before the test. Apple’s published disclosure says: “Charge time varies with adapter, settings, usage, and environmental factors; actual results will vary.” [Apple Support]
