To evolve an Aniimo, open Aniimo Management, select the creature, open its Attributes screen, and choose Evolve. The game then shows the available branch and that branch’s requirements. Reaching a displayed level is only one possible condition: another evolution may also require an Alpha or Omega victory, a location, a time or weather condition, a personality, or a specific item.
“Upgrade” covers more than evolution. Level Up, Capability Awakening, Resonance, Potential Awakening and equipment are separate progression systems. Use the system that matches the change you want, and verify the live client’s exact materials, quantities and unlock conditions before spending anything.

What evolution changes
Evolution changes an Aniimo’s form and can also change its statistics or battlefield role. It is therefore a branch decision rather than a routine level milestone. A creature may have several possible destinations, and the requirements are attached to the destination branch, not to one universal level chart.
The available Aniimo evolution guide describes the Evolve control and the requirement categories, but it does not establish a complete, versioned list for every species. Treat the screen in your current game client as the authority for the Aniimo and branch you are using.

Evolution is not the same as leveling
Leveling improves a creature through training. Evolution changes its form and may alter how it functions. An Aniimo can be high level without satisfying the conditions for a particular branch, and it can meet an evolution condition without being the best level or equipment choice for your team.
Branches can have different gates
Do not assume that two branches unlock at the same level or consume the same material. The guide evidence supports several possible gates but not a universal chart. If the Attributes screen lists multiple branches, inspect each one individually before deciding which route to pursue.
How to evolve an Aniimo
- Open Aniimo Management. Use the game’s management menu rather than a battle or equipment screen.
- Select the Aniimo. Choose the individual creature you want to evolve; requirements are shown for that creature’s available branches.
- Open Attributes. The training guide places both the level controls and evolution control on this screen. See Aniimo’s training guide for the menu orientation.
- Choose Evolve. The game displays the branch or branches currently available to inspect.
- Read the complete requirement panel. Check every line, including conditions that are not level based. Look for a level, an Alpha or Omega challenge, a location, time, weather, personality and an item.
- Meet the unmet conditions. Complete the required encounter or travel to the required context, wait for the correct time or weather, satisfy the personality requirement, and obtain the listed item as applicable.
- Reopen the branch and verify the status. A requirement may update only after the relevant event is completed or the menu is refreshed. Confirm that each line is marked complete before committing.
- Confirm the branch and cost, then activate Evolve. Evolution is a form change, so check that you are selecting the intended destination rather than simply the first available option.
The menu path is stable enough to use as a starting point, but names, item requirements and unlock rules can change with updates. If your screen does not match the labels above, follow the current in-client labels and do not rely on an old screenshot or level list.
Why an Aniimo cannot evolve yet
A level requirement is only one possible gate. If Evolve is unavailable or a branch remains locked, work through the conditions shown on that branch instead of repeatedly leveling the creature.

The level is too low
Some branches can require a minimum level. Use Level Up on the Attributes screen, then return to the branch panel. A creature that has just reached the threshold may still need another condition, so a completed level line does not prove that the evolution is ready.
An Alpha or Omega challenge is incomplete
A branch may require defeating an Alpha or Omega. The requirement is an encounter objective, not merely owning a high-level Aniimo. Prepare the appropriate team, complete the specified victory, and check the evolution panel again so the game can register the result.
The location, time or weather is wrong
Some branches can be contextual. Travel to the location shown by the branch, then attempt the action during the stated time or weather. If a weather condition is temporary, avoid leaving the area or changing activities until the requirement is fulfilled. The guide evidence identifies these categories but does not provide a reliable species-by-species schedule, so use the live panel for the exact condition.

The personality does not match
Personality can be an evolution requirement. If the branch names a personality your Aniimo does not have, leveling alone will not solve the problem. Confirm the creature’s current personality and compare it with the exact branch text before investing more resources.

The item is missing
An item can be required even when the level and challenge lines are complete. The available guide does not establish a trustworthy, exhaustive list of item names or quantities by branch. Use the item name and amount displayed in your client, and do not substitute a similar-looking material unless the game explicitly allows it.
The branch is not available to that species
Not every Aniimo necessarily shares the same branch structure. If no Evolve control or destination appears after selecting the creature, confirm that you are on the correct Attributes screen and that the species has an evolution path in the current version.
The menu has not refreshed
After completing a battle, traveling, or meeting a contextual condition, return to Aniimo Management and reopen the creature’s Attributes screen. This forces you to inspect the current state rather than relying on a notification that may not have updated the branch panel.

There is no supported universal level chart covering every Aniimo branch. Public guides describe the categories above, but they do not establish a complete, current species-by-species requirement table. Any list that gives one level for all evolutions should therefore be treated as incomplete or version-specific.

Upgrading an Aniimo beyond evolution
If your goal is more damage, survivability, utility or team flexibility, evolution may not be the right first step. A progression guide presents Level Up, Evolution, Capability Awakening, Resonance and equipment as separate systems. The practical distinction is the part of the build you want to change.

When to level first
Level first when the branch explicitly requires it, when the Aniimo cannot survive the required Alpha or Omega encounter, or when you are still testing the creature’s current role. Leveling is also the least disruptive way to improve a team while you postpone an irreversible or branch-defining choice.
When to evolve first
Evolve first when the desired branch supplies a form or role your team needs and every listed condition is already satisfied. Read the destination’s details before committing; the point of evolution is the branch outcome, not simply a higher number on the level screen.

Choose Capability Awakening or Resonance when you want to deepen an existing build without changing the Aniimo’s form. These systems are separate from evolution, and the available guides do not establish current universal costs, caps or relative power values. Let the client’s current descriptions and your team’s role determine the order.
When equipment is enough
Use equipment when the weakness is situational—such as damage type, survivability or a particular encounter—and you do not want to commit to a branch change. Equipment can be swapped independently of evolution, subject to the item rules shown in your version.

- Write down the team problem. Decide whether you need a different role, higher base performance, more survivability, or a temporary encounter-specific improvement.
- Inspect every available branch. Record the destination name and each requirement exactly as displayed; do not rely on a memory of another Aniimo.
- Separate guaranteed work from conditional work. Leveling and item collection are usually planned activities, while weather, time and encounter conditions may require waiting or travel.
- Check the item before farming. Confirm the name and quantity in the current client. Public guides do not provide a complete, versioned cost table.
- Compare the branch with your existing build. If the branch changes the role, review your Resonance, awakening and equipment choices rather than assuming they remain optimal.
- Complete the least reversible decision last. Finish the contextual challenge and verify the destination immediately before selecting Evolve.
Costs, materials and version changes
There is no reliable public table covering every branch’s item names, quantities and other costs. The safe procedure is to open the target branch and read the current requirement panel. If the client shows a material cost, record the exact spelling and quantity for that branch; do not generalize it to another species.
Patch changes can affect consumed items, branch conditions and progression interfaces. A third-party guide search result mentions a change to the item consumed to evolve Squarrel, but the original release-note source was not verified, so it should not be treated as a confirmed quotation or as a current rule for all Aniimo. Your game client remains the decisive reference.

What to do when a guide and the client disagree
- Prefer the current in-game requirement panel over an undated or older guide.
- Check whether the guide describes a different branch, platform, region or game version.
- Look for a recent patch note or an updated page from the guide’s publisher before spending rare materials.
- Capture the exact requirement text for your own records if the condition is unusual or temporary.
A practical troubleshooting checklist
- Wrong menu: confirm that you selected Aniimo Management, the creature, Attributes and then Evolve.
- Only the level line is complete: inspect the branch for Alpha/Omega, location, time, weather, personality and item conditions.
- Challenge completed but still locked: return to the Attributes screen and reopen the branch so the status can refresh.
- Contextual condition never appears: verify the exact location, time and weather wording instead of using a nearby area or approximate time.
- Item cannot be used: compare the item name and quantity with the branch panel; similar materials are not interchangeable unless the interface says so.
- Several branches are shown: inspect each destination and choose deliberately; do not select the first branch simply because it is listed first.
- Progression resources seem to disappear: check whether you spent them on Level Up, Awakening, Resonance or equipment rather than evolution.
- A public guide gives a conflicting level: treat it as branch- or version-specific and follow the live client.
What the public guides establish
The menu path and broad requirement categories are described by third-party guides, including the step-by-step evolution guide and the progression guide. The training overview at aniimo.guide places Level Up and related training controls in Aniimo Management’s Attributes area.
A community post titled New Pathfinder guide is lower-confidence evidence and should not be used to infer a universal cap, cost or unlock rule. The available public material does not provide developer documentation or an exhaustive species-by-species table, which is why the exact branch panel matters.
Does Aniimo’s free-to-play model change evolution?
A September 16, 2026 article from PC Gamer characterizes Aniimo as free-to-play. That describes the game’s monetization model, not a specific evolution requirement. Whether a branch requires a level, encounter, context, personality or item is determined by the evolution screen in the client.
