Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteEvaluate the virtualization platform and the company selling or implementing it as two separate decisions. Start with your workloads and operating requirements, then compare licensing, multi-year cost, support, security, migration, and exit terms on the same written basis. A strong product fit cannot compensate for an unclear support boundary or a reseller whose authorization and delivery scope are unverified.
Start with requirements, not vendor demonstrations
Before inviting vendors to present, document what the environment must run and how it must operate. This gives each bidder the same target and helps prevent a polished demo from obscuring a missing capability.

- Workloads: inventory virtual machines, applications, operating systems, hardware, storage, network dependencies, and performance constraints.
- Availability and recovery: record uptime targets, backup and disaster-recovery requirements, restore expectations, and acceptable maintenance windows.
- Security and compliance: identify regulatory or contractual duties, identity and access controls, patching expectations, and audit needs.
- Operations: note staff skills, automation and monitoring needs, growth assumptions, and which tasks must be handled by a provider.
- Commercial limits: set a realistic evaluation term and budget, including migration, training, support, and eventual exit.
Ask every vendor to respond to this requirements set and demonstrate the workloads and operating tasks that matter most. Keep assumptions explicit; an untested assumption about compatibility, performance, or staffing can become a costly implementation gap.

#1 Best Overall
| Platform evaluation | Reseller evaluation |
|---|---|
| Workload and application compatibility; performance and availability; storage, network, hardware, and backup/recovery integration; security controls; management and automation; upgrade path and portability. | Current authorization; experience with comparable environments; named staff and relevant certifications; geographic coverage; subcontracting; references; escalation route; business and operational continuity. |
An authorization badge alone does not show that the proposed team has delivered your particular scope. Ask for evidence tied to the actual legal entity, country, program, and work being proposed.
For example, Proxmox describes certified partners as assisting with solution and hardware selection, implementation, updates, and technical support. Its ecosystem page also describes consulting, proof-of-concept (PoC) development, integration, and ongoing customer management. It distinguishes Gold and Silver reseller levels, but buyers should verify a shortlisted company’s current directory status and the specific services it will contract to provide: Proxmox Partner Ecosystem.
Verify the bidder’s role and authorization
“Reseller” can describe different positions in a sales and service chain. Establish who will contract with you, supply entitlements, invoice you, receive support cases, and manage renewals. Ask the bidder to identify whether it is the vendor, direct reseller, indirect reseller, distributor, hosting provider, systems integrator, or managed-service provider.

- Check the vendor’s current partner directory or portal for the correct business entity and geography.
- Request written confirmation of the partner program and level, plus the scope of authorization relevant to your purchase.
- Map the transaction and support chain: contracting party, license supplier, biller, first-line support, escalation owner, and renewal contact.
- Confirm whether delivery or support will be subcontracted, and identify the responsible organization and named lead.
- Validate references for work similar in workload, scale, and migration complexity to yours.
Program requirements are vendor- and role-specific. Microsoft describes its Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) indirect model as a reseller working through a distributor that may assist with support, pricing, billing, training, marketing, and financing. Microsoft’s FY26 indirect-reseller guidance, last updated June 4, 2026, specifies program requirements including active partner membership and a Partner Location Account, a revenue threshold, security requirements, and a signed partner agreement; requirements are assessed annually. These are CSP program conditions, not a general test for every virtualization reseller. See Microsoft’s indirect reseller eligibility guidance and the CSP program overview for current role distinctions. Microsoft describes direct-bill partners as handling sales, billing, customer management, and support autonomously, subject to additional capability and eligibility requirements. Recheck program status at procurement time.
Compare licensing and the full-term cost
Request a bill of materials and a written entitlement statement. It should identify the product edition, licensing metric, host and guest treatment where relevant, included support, subscription term, renewal conditions, permitted deployment locations, audit duties, and what rights remain after termination.
Compare total cost over a realistic term, not just the first invoice. Include subscriptions or licenses, hardware implications, implementation, migration, training, backup, support, renewal assumptions, growth, and transition or exit work. Require vendors to state their assumptions and price-change terms in writing, then have procurement or licensing counsel validate material terms. No universal price or total-cost figure applies across products and buyer environments; use current scoped quotes.

Microsoft’s Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) illustrates why the precise program and buyer/provider roles matter. Microsoft says eligible providers can license products monthly during a three-year agreement term, with models that include per-subscriber, per-processor, per-core, and host/guest licensing. It also describes monthly reporting and technical support obligations for participating service providers delivering products. These SPLA details should not be generalized to other virtualization products or licensing arrangements: Microsoft licensing options for service providers.

Put support ownership in the contract
Ask for a responsibility matrix covering the vendor, reseller, distributor, hosting provider, and your own team. The proposal and contract should identify the service owner and define:
- Support hours, time zone, covered products, and the route for opening a case.
- Severity definitions, response and resolution targets, escalation contacts, and incident communications.
- Responsibility for patches, updates, maintenance windows, and security advisories.
- Exclusions, handoffs between organizations, and remedies if service commitments are missed.
- Who owns monitoring, backup checks, restore actions, and post-incident follow-up.
Walk through a critical-outage scenario outside local business hours. Have the bidder explain who answers first, who can escalate to the vendor, and what happens if the first organization cannot resolve the issue. Proxmox says some partners may provide local support or 24/7 service and can assist with updates and security patches; these are possible partner offerings, not a universal commitment. Confirm the specific hours and obligations in the shortlisted partner’s proposal and contract: Proxmox Partner Ecosystem.

Use a proof of concept to test real work
A PoC is useful only when its scope and pass criteria are agreed before testing. Choose representative workloads and operational tasks, then record assumptions, results, defects, and what the test does not establish.
- Test performance under expected load and verify monitoring and routine administration.
- Exercise backup and restore, failover, security administration, and relevant integrations.
- Test a representative migration and document rollback steps and dependencies.
- Set measurable acceptance thresholds and identify defects that block deployment.
- Specify what the PoC does not prove, such as untested scale, failure modes, or application combinations.
Turn successful criteria into implementation acceptance gates rather than treating a successful demonstration as proof that every production requirement is met. Proxmox explicitly lists reseller consulting and PoC development among its partner service categories: Proxmox Partner Ecosystem.
Plan migration, renewal, and exit before signing
For implementation, document source and destination responsibilities, application dependencies, data transfer, expected downtime, coexistence costs, access controls, rollback, and acceptance. Establish who controls subscriptions, customer tenants, administrative credentials, backups, configuration, and data. The contract should explain how these will be transferred or returned if you change provider or the reseller leaves the relationship, including timing, assistance, and fees.
Best Value
Transition procedures depend on the program and on what is changing. Microsoft’s CSP transition guide says that changing the partner of record may be sufficient when the customer remains with the same distributor and subscriptions stay in the same tenant. Some distributor or tenant changes instead require a fuller partner-to-partner or Azure transfer. The guide advises confirming the incoming distributor relationship before starting a transfer to help protect provisioning, billing, and support continuity. These examples apply to CSP, not every virtualization contract: Microsoft Partner transition guide.
Make the shortlist comparable
Use one evaluation sheet for every complete offer. Score each item against your requirements, record evidence and open questions, and weight the result according to the risks that matter most to your organization.
- Workload and application fit, performance, and availability.
- Security and compliance responsibilities.
- Licensing rights, contract flexibility, and full-term cost exposure.
- Migration effort, reversibility, and exit arrangements.
- Operational skills required and the work retained by your team.
- Support hours, escalation ownership, and service commitments.
- Partner authorization and demonstrated delivery scope.
- Continuity of subscriptions, access, billing, and support if the relationship changes.
Do not select a platform or reseller from the title alone: geography, workload inventory, budget, existing infrastructure, compliance and availability duties, staffing, and service expectations determine which trade-offs are acceptable. Where a proposal does not answer a material requirement, keep it as an explicit open item rather than assuming the answer.
